  1. NEWS FLASH FOR THIS EVENT I have just been informed that Circuit Club is having trouble arranging the timing equipment for this event. The usal company that does the timing is tied up with the V8 supercars. So it may NOT be a timed track day!!! I will still be going, I just hope they can arrange an alternative for timing. Anymore SAU people coming as I need to let them know how many garages we need?
  2. The guys at Circuit Club have confirmed one garage for me to use for the SAU group. If I can confirm numbers I may be able to get one or two more.
  3. Just paid and details emailed.
  4. As it seems a few people from the club are going to the Queens Birthday track day organised by circuit club, I would try to make a list of who is going, so we can have an SAU presence there, maybe even head down in a group. Details for the track day:HERE I am booked in and am also trying to organise a garage so we have a spot to change wheels and store our stuff. Please post here or PM if you are confirmed for this day and I will add you to the list. For those who want to cruise down to Wakefield together, I can meet at Casula Bunnings car park at the cross roads from 6:30am leaving at 6:45am. This is located where the Hume Hwy splits into Camden Valley Way and Campbelltown Road. There is a link to a map on the second page. I think this is a good spot as it is near the M7 and M5 and it is easy to get on the Freeway and head to Goulburn from this point. Let me know who wants to meet up from here and PM me if you want my mobile to co ordinate things. CONFIRMED: Apollo (Me) padey tjandriesen aka "TJ" scathing Knockout Ned
  5. OK As there does not seem to be much in the way of track days on in June I am about to register and pay for this one. Who else is in?
  6. Is this limited to members with Skylines? Or can the few members with non Skylines also enter and maybe have a section for the “Others”?
  7. Circuit Club is holding a track day at Wakefield on Queens birthday long wekend 11/06/07.
  8. I think OP has an L2S day on 30 June.
  9. Your making me blush Wayne Seriously though, thanks to you guys for taking the time to show a noob the way.
  10. After a great time at Oran Park on Wednesday, I am keen to attend some track days over the next few month, to take advantage of the cold weather. So what track days are coming up? And who’s going to each, as it's always more fun in a group?
  11. I used the R888 (SG compound) I bought from Taleb tyres. Not sure of the times but I was impressed with the tyres although they look to wear quickly. Did about 150km worth of driving on the track and I would say they have two to maybe three track days left in them. As for lap times, I’m not sure as I had no timing equipment in the car. Paul maybe able to shed some light on this as he followed me for a few laps with timing equipment in his car. Keen to hit the track again. May have to head to Wakefield with Circuit Club on 11/06/07. You keen?
  12. Any idea what time this event is scheduled to finish?
  13. First time for me at Oran (other than drifting) and had a ball. Thanks to Paul, the Baron, Ports and Wizard for showing me the ropes. Already keen for another track day.
  14. I am 90% sure that I will be there tomorrow. For those going, come and say Hi, even though I don’t drive a Skyline. It will be my first time on this track, so would be keen to pick up some tips and suggested lines.
  15. Does anyone know if you need an extinguisher for this day.
  16. It depends on if and when the SAU track day is on.
  17. Come on Chris, I really think that you have a 24 hour flu due to hit you next Wednesdy So who is a definite for next Wednesday (16/05/07)? I am 80% that I will be there at the moment. Any meet up points? What time will everyone be arriving?
  18. Time for action: EC on 07/05/07
  19. As the EC day on 2 June 07 that many of us were looking forward to has been cancelled, it is time to take matters into our own hands. There is an open practice day on Monday the 7th of May (yes this Monday) for L2S licence holders. Just called EC and they advised that: Gates open at 7am Track time starts at 9am The cost is only $120.00. Two groups: L2S and the more experience PC licence holders. Link is here: EC Looks like it’s the only car L2S one for a while. Not sure if I can make it yet but would be good to get a group together.
  20. When will this become official? There are quite a few track days at Wakefield in June and July and which ones I go to will depend on whether this one is on or not.
  21. DAM! I just finished filling in the registration form and had only logged on to get the payment instruction. From reading the previous posts I was worried I was going to miss out due to it being sold out and now it’s cancelled due to lack of numbers? When is there another track day at the Creek? What else is on around early June? I have new semis that need trashing!!!
  22. Are there still spots? Is there time to submit and pay by tomorrow?
  23. Looks like SG is the softest compound. Should be suitable for a few hot laps at a time. Not ideal for hot track temps or too many laps without cool down.
  24. Still does not explain what SG compound is for. The guys at Taleb tyres told me they where in between hard and soft compound. Now i'm not so sure? It seems Taleb, St George and a few others were selling these specific tyres as I rung around and they all only had 225/45/16. Who else bought these R888 (from Taleb, St George, etc) and who has tried them out yet? Feedback?
  25. I believe they are SG compound.
