  1. nah not just wanting to chop mates, im also making it into sort of a show car. so whats the biggest part of the cost, cause if you scroll up youll see the list ive made and it comes to just under 6k, obviously its missing a lot but im just curious
  2. yeah im not sure if you saw, but im sure if you scroll up on the thread youll see full list of parts ive got to buy so far and all of that is around 6k, i know im gonna need more but for now i thought it wasnt bad considering thats a big chunk of the stuff i believe ill need, but by all means do critique my list of parts.. just dont be too mean about it haha
  3. with the fab work, ive got a welder so my idea was to by the suitable sized piping and cut it up and weld it together myself, if it is clearly going to leak then ill just try my best to use silicone joiners in tough spots. plus if i can do what i plan on doing and do a front facing plennum and a top mount turbo, it should make it easier to route the piping. however i may change my mind on the top mount turbo as a lot of people say its not worth it, so that may save me a bit?
  4. id prefer not to but i can, it would just be gradual over time. yeah ill be doing all the mechanical work myself and i know a few auto electricians and tuners who can help me, definitely not for free but it wont cost an insane amount
  5. only if the 2 or the 3 is followed by 4 zeros themselves, im not looking to spend 20 to 30k but im more than happy to spend under that. not quite sure where you got the idea of me not wanting to spend money on but you need to take a chill pill champ
  6. yeah engine is currently in the bay, but if i have to take it out i will. in my mind, an engine out to increase the longevity of the engine is worth the time. and im not sure if youre keeping up with GTS boy, but im not opposed to spending a fair bit on this car. i opened this forum with an idea of what i could do in mind and it seems what i want to do is overcompensating a bit haha, im not opposed to aiming for way more at all, 450kw is mad! just dont want to be one of those guys who wants to get 1000hp on his first go sort of thing, but it appears i have undershot it and i guess now i look like i have no clue. but if its a few k more for the 450kw then thats fine by me.
  7. yeahhh ive found that one out haha. currently that list is comprised of front mount intercooler (aeroflow) link ecu (G4x Xtremex) gated manifold and screamer pipe (hypergear) electronic boost gauge (gfb) high flow mod for my current turbo (hypergear) front facing plenum so defintely missing a heap of stuff but thats just what i have so far. with what i have do you think i should be aiming for more power? cause 350 is just my ballpark, but if i can gain more without rebuilding the engine i will.
  8. well like i said, 350 is what i consider a reasonable ball park and if i can use these parts to make more then ill make sure theyre not just cosmetic at all.
  9. yeah i had a look at a link ecu.. the one i want is just shy of 3k... which is pretty insane considering ive only ever owned sh*tboxes haha. but yeah ive begun making a list and so far its gonna cost around... 6k, but thats missing out on a lot of the plumbing, tuning and electrical labour i cant quite do myself. also planning on adding a few extra like a crank/cam trigger kit, some adjustable cam gears and the crank shaft extender thing (ive blanked on what its called, pretty much extends the crank and adds more splines) althought i do save money because the engine has already had some good head studs installed as well as fixed the oiling issue, so hopefully no spun bearings for me.
  10. the way im thinking about it is that if I get one now i wont have to get one later, another thing as well. to the dismay of someone else on this thread, i like the ffp because they look better, and because this is going to be a show car as well as hopefully a little beast, i wanna be able to open the bonnet and have it look nice and clean.

  12. ah okay, thats really good to know thank you! someone in this thread has already expressed his disliking over what im about to say, but the main reason i wanted a top mount and front facing was because this is a show and id like to be able to have its bonnet up and have it look more presentable.
  13. now im confused, youve said in the first part that a top mount and ffp isnt necessary however in your second youre saying theyre for performance? which one is it? cause in my mind i want them for both looks and performance. cleans it up and allows for easier routing of a front mount and less careful design of both intercooler and pipe work. plus even if im not asking for the power a straight through front mount will provide, it will mean if i want to add more power later that i dont have to redo it all. ill do it once and do it right so i dont have to do it again, even if it does cost me an extra few grand. you might not have the patience for people who want it to look better at shows, but if im going to have a show car which will hopefully put out more power then i want it to look nice. at the end of the day 350hp is what i was aiming for as a realistic number, but if i can get more i will.
  14. damn, i knew i needed some of that stuff bit there is a lot there i didnt even think of, thank you. i probably need to start finding stuff to work towards as i didnt intend on starting until i could finish and was hoping to do it all whilst my car was getting its doors and boot rust fixed. is there an ecu, boost controller and injectors you would recommend?
  15. ive started making a list, so far to get my stock turbo to highflow its about $950 intercooler ive found is around $300 (Aeroflow) i found a front facing intake with throttle body, fuel rail, all the lines and fittings second hand for $500 plus i wont have to pay for labour or anything as im a mechanic by trade.
  16. im looking to make it at the wheels if at all possible. for the top mount turbo and front facing its for 2 reasons, i wanna mount a front mount intercooler and replace the tiny stock one, and because I want this to be something I can open the bonnet on at shows and have people wanna look at it haha, and i just find that the rocker covers look so much better without an intake wrapping over the top of them.

  23. Hey everyone, I've recently been looking to move around a few things in my engine bay. I have a C34 Nissan Stagea with an RB25DET. I'm hoping to relocate my turbo to a more top mount as well as adding a front mount intercooler and a front facing intake. I was just wondering if I needed to get a different manifold for the turbo or can I re-use my old one? I'm fairly new to the RB and the Turbo as I have been with an EJ for the past 4 or so years. Any help would be appreciated as I'm also trying to figure out what turbo I should get to put on my car as well, mainly looking for something that will allow me to cruise comfortably but also chop my mates haha. I know there's other threads about all this but I have trouble finding these exact forums and going through the hundreds of comments. also does anyone know if the coil packs from Maxpeedingrods are any good or even just their parts in general? cause I've heard a lot of mixed reactions about them.
  24. hey man, not sure what engine you have, but if its an Rb, my car had a similar issue. perhaps check the clamps on your rocker cover breather hose if its not your maf sensor. if its not that then maybe also check your spark plugs. hope this was even a bit of help.
