Loose lug nuts caused outer CV grease to leak?
Inxlusion replied to silviaz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Did you pull the cv when you changed the inner boot? If you did you might have caught the outer boot on something and tore it then. Clean it up and have a look and see if the boots damaged, you might be able to just get away with putting a new cv clamp on it. -

No, the wheel nuts would have nothing to do with it. -
looks like it's an AMP connector

So I drove someone elses m35 last week and realised mine was seriously underpowered. I ordered a new set of ignition coils, sparkplugs and brought a boost gauge. When I hooked up the boost gauge I was only making peak of 8psi. I put a boost tee in and managed to push it back up to the standard 14psi. Drove it around like that for a few days while waiting on the ignition coils to come in and had no issues. Ignition coils arrived so next up was the coils and plugs. Pulled the intake piping and plenum off and pulled the coils to find all the drivers side spark plug tubes were full to the brim with oil. Sucked the oil out of them, pulled the covers and threw some silicone on the seals as a temp fix while I wait on the new valve covers to come in. While I had it all apart I decided to get the injectors tested and cleaned. Just got them back from the shop today, they said injector 3&4 were ~5% down compared to the rest but are now flowing the same. Threw everything back together and started the car up and it was missing. Double checked I had connected everything back up and had all hoses on and secure. Everything looked good. Jumped on the forums and read that the connectors for coils 4&6 and 3&5 are commonly put on wrong. Swapped the connectors to 4&6 started it up to find the misfire had gotten worse, swapped them back around and repeated the process on the other side with connectors 3&5. When I started it this time it had no effect. I have left it there for today and will dive back into it after work tomorrow. My thoughts, the fact that changing the connectors between 3&5 had no effect makes me think that whole bank is not firing. I will check the ignition grounding on that side but it is there anything else I should check before I pull everything back off?

Hey guys, I have an EMU in my car and I am trying to set up the launch control but no joy. Has anyone had any luck with this feature? I have set all the parameters in the IGN tab but I am unable to get it to work. I will upload photos of my parameters when I get to lunch today.

Inxlusion replied to Mc21727's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah that should be fine, as long as its DEXIII it doesn't really matter. just make sure you flush the system before adding it -

Hey guys I had p1122 and lost all throttle response 3 weeks ago, have since replaced the throttle body and had nissan relearn idle. Had no issues with it until today when lost throttle response again with p1122 back. This time have very little but still some throttle. Is there anything else I should be looking at rather than throwing another TB on there and seeing how long that one lasts? Thanks in advance.

Not really to fussed about it not really to tune it or anything yet so not a priority just trying to work out what's what I guess. I have a gready emanage sitting there waiting to go in so I will look into how everyone's running their af gauge with them. Thanks for all the info everyone really appreciate it
-
Alright sweet that makes sense, any idea how I could work out the ratio or should I just put an external A/F gauge in? Is the 85% on the A/F learn something I should be worried about? Been sitting at that since I first got the car at the start of the year.
-
So I finally got my car back up and running, I have underlined the ones in not sure about in the photo.

Hey mate, I will take a screenshot of the gauges when I get the car back up and running

BC Racing extreme drop kit AWD M35

Yeah that's about all I have come up with. Being AWD the front will differ from the 350z/v35 aswell, the rear is easy enough to get. -

No I haven't, I will look into it -
Hey guys, I brought a stagea at the start of the year that had a set of BC coilovers in it. Last weekend I tried lowering it more to close the wheel arch gap and ended up maxing them out before getting there. Since then I have been back and forward with a few of the guys at BC Racing about getting an extreme drop kit in the works. I just wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in them or alternatively is there anyone who makes an extreme drop it for them already I should be looking into Pic is from when I first brought it

Alright I'll have a chat with one of the local vq guys. Thanks for all that mate I really appreciate it

Yeah sweet thanks for that mate first car ive owned with solid lifters so i have 0 idea. from the catalogue they are a separate shim that sits on top. Under the listing I have multiple size options for both the lifter itself and the shims, if i was to replace them lifters would that be a case of ordering the same size or use that to reduce the thickness of the shims in there or just get the same size and buy shims to suit
-
Alright so if I was to go and replace all the lifters is it a case of pulling them out and matching up the sizes?

Hey guys newbie here. I've got a m35 with a VQ25DET and it has developed a bit of a ticking noise. I have heard that its pretty common for the timing chain guides to brake and wear causing some noise. I have unplugged the VCT gears with the motor running as I've heard that if they are the culprit it will stop with no luck so I am going to start by replacing the guides and tensioners though it sounds more like valve ticking to me. If it is the valves where would I start? There's so many different sizes in the valves listed, is it a case of just pulling them out and ordering the ones that match I would really like to avoid having to do that as it is currently my only car. Any help would be appreciated as the ticking is driving me nuts. Also when I cold start the car I get a horrible noise for a few seconds then quickly stops, could this be related or is that more to do with oil pressure and viscosity?

M35 vq25dd stutters/missing
Inxlusion replied to C.callander's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
From the quick research I've been doing the P0340 only relates to the one side and P0345 is the other. (could be completely wrong) If they are easy-ish to get to you can always try swap the side to side and see if the same one persists, if it does the its wiring if it swaps its the sensor? -
M35 vq25dd stutters/missing
Inxlusion replied to C.callander's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Sounds like it's time for some new position sensors, from what I have heard they are a pretty common fault. (think there might have even been a recall on them)
