using a socket with short extension then a uni joint then several more extensions to bring the ratchet to the front of the plenum makes it quite a lot simpler on my rb20 may help with your 26
i had the same thing under boost
tuned out to the the turbo exhaust flange nuts comming loose have to tighten them up every 2 years - tabs to hold the nuts in position are useless
only when boosting under load - at idle didnt do it
got pregressivly worse over a week or 2 while trying to work out what it was.
also check exhaust manifold bolts to the head - may have broken a stud
nice car mate - im yet to see one in white in adelaide - looks good

Would make a great daily or first car.
when mine did this had a broken exhaust stud on the manifold and the nuts holding the turbo to the manifold were loose - all fine once tightened up.
though im assuming youve checked this as have said no air leaks
i have just fitted 24mm adjustable front and 24mm adjustable rear to my R32 skyline and they are excellent.
biggest you can get from whiteline for the 32 - well worth the money and effort to put them in
not too stiff - perfect balance for street to match the bilstein shocks and whiteline springs i had previously fitted
mine squeaked quite bad a few months after i bought it turned out the mounting bracket was cracked - welded it up all good again hasnt been an issue since - nearly 4 years now
