My fourth gear is not perfect but I hard shifted it into fourth from fifth and its shifting better now. Not bothering me atleast. I think the cheapest option is to replace the whole transmission for a R33 heritage one for like 1500 USD not including the shipping. Thats what I was going to do but its not bothering me anymore. What is bothering me is my idle is weak now after I change my intake to a smaller one so I need a tune again - loves to stall in reverse and when the aircon is on lol ... Love these older cars. WOT is strong though.

Hi all, I’m currently running a str pipe hi low hks exhaust and downpipe. Was wondering if I change out muffler to a titanium one will it change the sound of the exhaust? Plus I have always liked the look of the titanium pipes … anyone have recommendations to one? side note already have titanium intake pipes.

Hi Luke. Yeah I actually ordered a set of muse ones from highintakeperformance. They are delivering them to me this weekend after 3 months. I think they are replicas of the nismo ones in a different material if I am not mistaken.

What’s the labour like on it? And how much better is it than the stock one? Guessing a lot stronger. I would be shipping from Japan to Hong Kong so not that bad…

I see on rhdjapan they are under 1500 usd but is that a complete replacement for my transmission? Or just the case? the r34 getrag transmission swap is like 15k usd lol.

I was actually just planning on replacing the fourth gear parts in the gear box that I broke … like the synchro hub or cone. And any other parts I need once I open up the transmission. That a bad idea? The rest of the gears feel tight. these parts shouldn’t be too much … just the labour here won’t be cheap. Just replacing these in HK would be around 2k aud including labour. how much is a new r33 or r32 transmission? thanks for the good info as usual

Hi all, suspect this is a common problem. I think I missed 4th gear a bit when I shifted down from 5th. Now it grinds into 4th with the downshift. Is it the sychro and what do I need to replace when I open the gear box up? added a photo of my new titanium intake I just installed and built. 👍💪

Yes I think we changed out the transmission fluid as I had a leak last year so we changed out the seals also. Need to check. I should have said just change from 5th to 4th gear … down shift. There’s a grind. I have a new clutch X clutch … but as I said all the changes in other gears are fine.

Anyone else have a grinding issue changing from 5th to 4th gear. I have no issues 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th. But the car seems to grind a little when I do 5th to 4th … is this a common issue? Had it from the last owner. Bit annoying as I can’t hard shift down. Feels like I have to push a little to the left to get it smoother into gear. thanks

Thanks for the info… guessing less rewarding for my hks ss turbo setup. Might just be more beneficial for a single turbo. I’m just concerned it will hurt my engine long run which would be very expensive.

Hahah yeah but a man got to do what a man wants to do. Won’t be using it infront of the 5O anyway. My car is illegal as is with the mods.
