Hey there, can I ask for a location? I'd like to inspect? My names Matt and I'm in the SE. Thank you -
Thanks a lot Really appreciate it I'm only using an EOS 450D with an 18-55 IS f/3.5-5.6, 75-300 f/4-5.6 and 50mm f/1.8 II as well as a 580EX II flash. I've also got a shopping list of lenses which i'm slowly going through haha, one by one The images are HDR images, in my editing; I don't go for the unrealistic HDR images that some people produce, I like to keep an element of realism. As for the dark/moody style, that comes with my editing when creating the HDR; I deliberately go with that style to create images that are unique

UPDATE: alright, i've sourced a good S2 RB25DET, they've included; - intake manifold - exhaust manifold - turbo - loom - ecu - exhaust - intercooler and piping Questions; - Any bits im missing? anything you guys can think of? - Do i need the Turbo dash? or will it plug up ok and i just wont have the Boost Gauge? - On my car i dont have the Aux thermo fan, do i need it on the turbo motor? - Can i use my DE AFM and Airbox or do i need DET units? - Does the fuel pump need changing? Any comments you guys have are welcome, everything said so far has helped and is much appreciated... ill be getting the motor in 2-3 weeks, picking it up from Sydney. I'll be re-freshing the motor with gaskets and the likes, and getting the head cleaned up before i chuck it on the car... so i'll do a little write up of refreshing the motor, the head work done and the install. Thanks again to everyone

agreed, between you (mr massive) and nismoid, $2000 is a pretty good guesstimate with getting good prices on all parts.. but i am having trouble sourcing them all, and i need the car quick. And the rb20 isnt such a bad engine, mate has a r32 gtst and it goes pretty good, bit more powerful then then rb25de... not as torquey i'll admit but, for the cost factor, i can get the rb20det, including turbo and manifold for $500 (good condition motor, not stuffed) off a friend. So thats why im considering this option, im not fussed with getting the best spec'ed engine. So after that i'd need engine loom for rb20det, ecu, intercooler and piping ofcourse, exhuast from manifold back. and thats it right? Would the R33 turbo dash work with the rb20det anyone? and is there any complications i dont know of? Thanks everyone again
-
Fair, i might be a bit idealist with $1500, i've seen decent rb25's for $1000 .. so hoping for some good deals, get the exhaust and intake piece all stock, but your right, i'm gonna be looking at a bit more. Though in terms of bits and pieces, is that all i need? or is there something im missing?.. Also, any thoughts on the RB20 install? straight bolt on the gearbox? is that right? Hassles with installing it into a R33? Thanks guys

Cracked Cyclinder Head.. Now What?
darkrams69 replied to illusiVe's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
im side tracking, but any amount of power gets boring after getting used to it.... drive a cappucino for a week then jump back into the 'line... you'll fall in love again lol -
@NYTSKY I thought that, but at roughly $4k for a front cut, i can get nearly everything i need for $1500 with a good searching of the For Sale forum, like i was saying, money is a bit tight and i need the car back on the road asap (old engine is gone). Thanks for the idea though

Im from the NA section, and my DE shat itself the other day and im going to chuck in a turbo. Questions are; - Things needed; - Engine - Turbo - dump - exhaust (manifold etc). - Intake piping etc and intercooler. - Turbo engine wiring loom (i assume?) - Turbo dash - turbo ECU is there anything else im missing? ALSO is it possible to fit a RB20det into a R33 up against the 33 5-spd manual? i can get a cheap 20det which is in VG condition and money is scarce so getting this engine might be the best option.. so can it be done? does it mount up? will the engine loom integrate? can i use a 33 dash? Thanks for your help guys. i want to get this car back on the road, and when i start the swap i'll make a thread following the progress.

1996/97 S2 Skyline Na Manual - Gippsland Vic

What pics are you interested in? i can take some and post. And if going the new head route... getting the new head (150-400), having it shaved ($100), new head bolts ($?) then all you gotta do is the new head gasket (supplied), torque head down, reattach exhaust and intake, new timing belt, harmonic balancer, intake piping, replace thermostat, fit radiator, then fill rad, and the car is ready to get its roadworthy -

In what sense? i just dont have the time to fix it, it'll be worth more to fix and sell, but i dont have the time. And getting a roadworthy now would be impossible, because it wont start.. you'd have to get a new head OR new engine, then it'll get a RWC really easy. -

Thanks MYSTRM, good luck with finding a nice NA. @curlyjimbo - The cost to fix overheating is a new thermostat and a new head.. thats it. everything else i have and will come with the car. im pretty sure on here you can find a NA head for $150-$400 bucks? so my loss is your gain. Matty -

@MYSTRM - Hey there, thanks for the offer, but i dont have that much to put on top to get your car. @green1via - Sounds pretty good, can you give me more info on the Cefiro? condition, k's, working order?... also do you mean you'll chuck cash my way or you want cash your way? -
Today i got the call from the head shop and my head is warped to no avail. So the car is up for sale, as is because i cant be bothered. Everything on the car is stock, and the car is 100% STRAIGHT! interior is VERY CLEAN & UN-MOLESTERED - i've owned the car for 6 years, before that its owner was my brother-in-law, who imported it in 1999/2000. with 30k on the clock. The car has: - 4x 6k old Nitrogen filled Maxxis mid-range sport tires. - Brand new 52mm ALUMINIUM radiator. (more on this later) - New Timing belt (not installed). - New head gasket (not installed). - Nice muffler from japan (not a cannon) - installed) - Clean interior - Straight body - NO CRASHES - All 4 corners have STOCK suspension which is firm & makes no noises! - Gearbox is perfect, no syncro wear. Car had a recent ROADWORTHY because i was thinking of selling before the overheating, car passed perfectly except for FRONT CONTROL ARM BUSHES - which i got changed then and there! So when a new engine is in (or new head) - (BLOCK IS PERFECT) - then car will easily pass a roadworthy. (ofcourse the new engine will need certification from your mechanic/engineer - but they can do this as part of your RWC.) Aircon is PERFECT! recently rehauled before summer, ran GREAT as i had it re-conditioned, but had to bleed because i took the engine apart. STORY; I was driving home from autobarn and the car overheated, so i pulled over and found the stock radiator top pipe had cracked (plastic) so i reattached pipe, filled with coolant and off i went, everything was fine... On another local trip, almost home car started overheating again and the radiator top completely broke and i had the car towed home. From there i thought maybe the thermostat wasnt working, sticking, thats why it intermittently overheated, so i removed it and grabbed a new radiator (Aluminum one) & installed this, bled coolant into the system, then went for a drive... the needle only just came off COLD and stayed there no matter what - so water pump was good, radiator was good, but soo large and without a thermostat, ran too cold. But from there excess pressure built up in the coolant system, and my mechanic and i came to the conclusion the head gasket is gone or the head is cracked/warped - the overheating was due to a sticking thermostat. So i got down to business, low & behold, the head is warped due to overheating, and causing exhaust gas to enter the coolant system... So.. after that novel, i require a new head & thermostat and the car is like new again... but after all this i really cant be bothered... OUTCOME; I want to sell it AS IS - that is NO RWC and NO REGO. You come and pick-it up on a trailer and its gone. I will happily put the engine back together so its easier to transport. Car will come without a radio. Car will come WITH the new head gasket, timing belt & new aluminum radiator. PRICE; I want $5500 and take it away, a good NA engine is $500 on here, plus the work of changing just the short motor, isnt much for the mechanically minded and a few friends OR just get your trusted mechanic to do it. Remember the car is STRAIGHT, NO CRASHES, INTERIOR IS VERY TIDY, AND WAS IS IN ROADWORTHY CONDITION (as of 2 weeks ago) BAR THE ENGINE... you are not buying a thrashed lemon, the car was well taken care of and serviced. With a new engine, this car will outlive most NA R33s. Matt - 0419116318 - Dont hesitate to call.

Smart, thank you very much for that, i'll give it a go this weekend & report back if anything interesting comes up. Thank you again. And, i know of the mobile cleaning & they are the best option, but im literally on dire straights haha, so thats not gonna happen for atleast 2 weeks. Matty

Did a quick search, didnt come up with much relevant, so here goes; I've got most of my gts taken apart, so i cant crank the engine, is there anyway to test the injector spray pattern without cranking the engine?... Somehow hot wire the fuel pump to circulate and then apply voltage over injector terminals to see spray? Because i cant see a way of testing spray with the engine assembled, i cant remove the rail when the intake collector is on...?? Hope you guys have ideas, im stumped...

Anyone know where in Melbourne (preferably SE) i could pickup a head gasket? Everywhere i've called needs to order it in and i need it asap! thanks all

Drop to 10,500 with RWC -
hey everyone, well my engine went pop (25de) - overheated & a ping issue has taken its toll. Changing the engine to a 25det, and want to put a 6 speed box behind it. low and behold, sr20 guys chuck in rb boxes behind their sr's for the strength in racing situations, i'm doing normal daily driving, so i want to chuck in the 6 speed box. questions - Every been done before? - Think the gearbox wont hold out behind stock 25det power? - Is there a adapter plate for RB engine to SR gearbox? (we've all seen the other way round)
