hmm...ok, would u know where i can get the mesh from?
-
Great, as long as I can take it somewhere, that's fine. when the accident happened, a suspension control arm was bent out of place, but that was replaced straight away. There have been creaks and groans, but those have also been sorted out. Just have the vibrations. I remember when i got the wheel back, it was missing some weights, but i just left it at that, cos I didn't know what they would be used for at the time. I guess passing around fulcrumsuspensions could also help. They may find something more

What Do You Think Of The V35 Skyline Coupe?
Nrage33 replied to Rezz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
it looks a bit like an old man's coupe. If I saw a young person driving it, i'd automatically think it's his or her dad's car. I'd like to say i'll have another opinion about it once I see one on the road, but i feel it will still look like a car my dad would drive. Sounds like a nice drive though. Modifying it would be an incredible experience as well...might even get it to look less "daddy-ish" -
*sigh* he must've thought he paid for a VERY BIG car that goes REALLY fast I love it when ppl from California make complete fools of themselves with their new bling bling. What a dumbass

actually i had a guy do it for me, but there was nothing difficult about it. Just pull out the rectangular covers on the side, unscrew the first bolts you see inside and things just slide off so you can pull things apart from the inside (steering wheel, airbag harness etc). The airbag itself needs to be taken out slowly that's all. I know I've been vague, sorry...I remember watching the guy do it, n i thought, I could've done that bit myself. The hard part is getting all the other crap out from inside, and reaching the bolt that the boss kit will eventually go onto.

Actually, yea the weights on one of the front wheels was taken off after I had a meeting with a kerb. Had to reshape the wheel, n realign it. The dude who reshaped the wheel ended up taking the weights off. Can Bob Jane's put some weights on the wheel for me? Cos i was wondering if that would become an issue later on. Man, I completely forgot about that. I'll check for flatspots too just in case. But yea, do you think a place like Bob Jane's or KMart tyres can put weights on the wheel, or would I hafta go to a rims place for this? Thanks for the info guys

Hello all, Just wanted to check something minor with everyone. I was just wondering how often one should send the car for a wheel alignment check. I'm feeling progressively harder vibrations in the steering at about 120km/h and above. had the alignment done in May, so is it supposed to be vibrating and stuff around this time? (6 months after last checkup)??

Good to hear u all are putting some good turbo burnt rubber to the ground...good stuff, n congrats! All insured too, can't beat that. This car has plenty of potential, so u gotta promise to give all that u can give...speed gets addictive in a skyline, in a good kinda way

I got my R33 at 123,000k's...have gone up to 151,500k's since...still sounds beautiful I must say. But I do watch what oil goes in and put those long life additives and such, just to make sure. I guess the only thing is that the engine oil probably doesn't usually last 5000kms like it should...may get black a bit earlier, like 4000kms

Yea I have the same problem as AutoTrust. Might try that little wrapping trick...haven't really been bothered with it coming on, but if anyone else drives the car on the highway for instance, it freaks em out. Mildman, don't worry...you're not the only one with a HICAS problem! that's why we're all here

Hey all, I've got a busted amp that is pumping out positive charge through the negative terminal, and it's blowing every fuse that I put in it. Anybody know any place on the gold coast where someone would know what to do about this? I'm not really keen on buying a new amp. but if it comes to that, then fine...just need to get a professional opinion on what the hell is going on with this amp. It's been out of the car for a while now, n I miss the thumping bass. So it's time to get stuff done. I just dunno where to go to get sound equipment fixed. Brisbane car sound don't do any repairs as far as I know. Can anybody get me in the right direction about this? many thanks, Zak

That sounds pretty cheap for a brand new S-AFC II... I got my S-AFC for $450 second hand last year.

Looking for one of these, for series 1 GTST...anything with black mesh design. Preferably in burgundy.

not having front number plate. legal or illegal?
Nrage33 replied to Bassit's topic in General Maintenance
Anybody ever bought those slimline sticker number plates? u know, the one where there is no plysical number plate, just a sticker with the rego number on it? Should look into that, I think that's a great way to go about things. No piece of metal on your front bar, but legal as ever. Seen a few GTR's with it...does the trick i'd say -
lots of info to absorb here...ok so when it says a ferrari 360 modena is rated at 400bhp, how does one judge, according to the fixed loss theory, how much rwhp the car has? Because it appears that alot of power is actually lost through the drivetrain. I mean, whether it be 30% of the figure or even at a fixed rate, it's alot of hp that gets absorbed.

hey pete I dunno much about the profec e-01, but I assume that u're looking for a fuel management system of some sort. A good piggyback one is the apexi S-AFC range. I put one on my car a few months back...it gave me 66rwhp right off the bat. I couldn't complain. It won't increase boost though, but it will increase the power output on whatever boost level u are at. standard turbo and core should be able to handle up to 13psi if I am not mistaken. If anyone can correct me on that, go ahead. hope this helps

r33 GTSt intercooler upgrade qu..
Nrage33 replied to raz0r$harP.UK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My car managed 200rwkw on 15psi with a stock intercooler...but it had alot of help from a high-flowed t04 compressor housing with a stainless steel wheel. then it needed an S-AFC, boost controller, pod filter, and a turbo back exhaust. The turbine housing is still stock. The whole Hi-flowed thing was done by the previous owner...but yea, if not for that then i would probably be fighting alot harder and sleeping less trying to get money for mods that stretch the stock turbo to its limits. With a FMIC, I can achieve 200rwkw at 12psi. It helps cos it's safer, and a cos of a retuned S-AFC My point is that it can be done on a stock cooler, but nobody would recommend it. Things will get too hot. They could only run my car up to 200rwkw once that day cos of the heat soaking into everything. -
Electronic Boost Controllers - pretty, pretty, please :)
Nrage33 replied to meshmesh's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I use the EVC 3 controller...works well enough. It's hidden in between my seat and the center console, so i barely even look at it. It was second hand, so something did go wrong with it initially. It's really not worth it if constant boost is the only thing u want from it. It really only contributes to the "wank factor" of my car when i think about it. It can maintain constant boost pressure better yes, but only marginally (I read that in a performance textbook). And I agree that I wasted my money on something a bleed valve could've done. I miss that missile switch Boost comes on the same way it did during my bleed valve days. My car even makes better power using a bleed valve for some reason. The thing gives me boost cut now for some reason. I'm seriously considering a change back to a bleed valve. -
how to get awsome sounding exhust for skyline
Nrage33 replied to 93_180sx's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I think mine is also a kakimoto exhaust...turbo back system with a massive catalytic converter. It's quiet, but sounds perfect. going into underground carparks and stuff, u can hear a very bass-y growl, shakes things around u. Turns heads n what not...I've received plenty of compliments. It puts the turbo's sound into the limelight as well instead of drowning it out. makes a good combination sound when u're thrashing the car around. Sounds like a jet almost. -
oh ok...I get it. Thanks for that strutto. looks like my car ain't that bad after all..
-
ok, I'm perplexed as to how the two are calculated. If a car can do 200kw at the wheels, how do u figure out how many kw it makes on the fly? In most car mags, is the figure written down "rwkw" or "kw on the fly"?

If anyone has one of these spare or taken off their cars for any reason and needing to sell it, I'm looking for one.
