Missfire Boost@4500-5500 RPM - The Answer! (for me at least!)
r32dan replied to Nightman's topic in General Maintenance
when you say new coil packs do you mean aftermarket brand new, or, second hand replacements? Also what boost do you mean by high boost? Also what gap are your plugs and what kind? -
thanks for the tips guys. i will stop stressing about my standard pump and give it a go. cheers.....

Hi there peoples, i am in need of some advise! I am looking at increasing power levels soon in my series 2 r33. My power level goals are not huge, i am chasing a reliable 250 horses at the wheels. My queries are, A: Will i need to replace the fuel pump or are the series two pumps ok for that sort of demand. B: Are the Walbro pumps suffice, as they are very reasonably priced C: I have read heaps about having to wire the new pump differently! Is this true, or do i do as others i know have done, and simply use the existing wiring set up? your help would be appreciated!

mine have been done in the high temp gasket silicon now for one month and still running a treat. just did my friends r32 (my old ride) which was terribly bad and it to has found a new lease on life. running like it was new. not bad for a 91 model. Thanks heat resistant gasket silicon:) -
Stage 2 Shift Kit - Knox Automatics!
r32dan replied to johnblack33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hi guys, recently purchaced a series 2 r33 auto. was considering doing the whole shift kit thing but my car seems to have some of the characteristics i have read that you get once it is installed! It spins its wheels into second. At lower speeds changes are a little harsh espessially when the power button is on, and when i am manouvering in car parks (5-10km) the revs go up and down (does that sound like the gears searching) and makes the car sort of surge on and off a little. im starting to wonder if it is already done? does the gear box still let off that pop sort of noise between gears if the shift kit is done? i was told its ingnition cut between gears to preserve the box (a factory setting). the previous owner was a chic and the car was fairly stock, and i couldn't imagine she woiuld have done it! what do you guys think? -

try some injector cleaner. the best stuff is genuine toyota injector cleaner from toyota dealerships. its about 25 bucks. maybe your base idle could be a fraction low too.

What Is The Best Sound And Performance Bov
r32dan replied to Stealthynsa's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
bought a r33 with hks bov fitted already. car stalled randomly, swapped it with someones stock one, they were stoked, now it runs fine. moral of the story is they attract attention from cops, they do f*@k all for performance, illegal in some states, and can actually make your car run shit if its running a stock ecu! be an individual keep the stock one and save your money for something that needs fixing. if you drive it like a man that that shouldn't be long:) -
i have an auto r33 and had the same issue! two things to check. does your idle go funny when you turnthe steering wheel at really slow speeds and does your car have an aftermarket blow off valve! if it has an aftermarket blow off valve get rid of it. fixed mine straight away. makes it legal too. there is plenty of people that want to go pssssshhhh out there so its not hard to swap with someone. also if the power steering pressure switch is playing upit can cause you to stall as well. but its got to be pretty bad. Hope this helps mate!

Missfire Boost@4500-5500 RPM - The Answer! (for me at least!)
r32dan replied to Nightman's topic in General Maintenance
Hey mate the problem sounds different becuase it should happen in any gear and more than once. its not a precise thing its pretty random! you should be looking into some other possibilities! your packs shouldn't be that bad at those sort of km's either! I could be wrong but it sounds different! Good luck mate there's nothing worse than a prob ya cant work out! -
anyone?

Hi there i have these wheels and tyres (pretty good nik tyres) for sale for $1350. Planing on doing some clubman track days and believe 18's will better suit my requirements. Shame though as they are a beautifull wheel so please be understanding if im a little picky for swaps. Im on the gold coast! please post pics of any nice 18's you may be interested in swaping!

Missfire Boost@4500-5500 RPM - The Answer! (for me at least!)
r32dan replied to Nightman's topic in General Maintenance
Oh yeah another interesting point i found out shortly after doing this was a mechanic told me some Nissan manuals actually say to coat entire coil packs, rubber boots included, with silicon spray, on service intervals. very interesting! The mechanic went on to say that once he has put everything back together (except the plastic cover) he lightly coats the whloe valley between the tappet covers in the sylicon spray! Also for the record i gapped my plugs to .75. Reason for this was purely because i noticed a lot of the r33 S2 and r34 owners have reported needing slightly tighter gaps than previous models. also i am running platinums, and the general concencess seems to be that they require more of the coil packs energy than coppers. Instead of wasting money on new coppers i thought for now i'll just gap it a little tighter to take the pressure of the pcaks. Hope this helps.......
