Skaife is a dead set wanker. One typical example was when i was at a v8 superstars a year or so ago. A person asked skaife a question from the crowd about some race skaife did overseas. This was around the time his book had been released. His reply was "Its all in the book, plenty of shops sell it". Im sure if you asked Peter Brock a similar question he would probably go into little details of the track and race and so on. Not a stupid answer like Skaife gave. His only redeming factor is he used to race a GTR.

Looking @ selling my R33 Skyline (421rwhp)
Bleach1 replied to RNS11Z's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
dude, unfortunatly your car is only worth as much as people are willing to pay for it. -
I ended up out at EC last night. Some nice skylines running.

Just by feel up through the gear stick,

I replaced the Transmission oil in a manual last week on an r32. I used VMX80. The gear stick used to get warm with the old oil which looked as if it hadnt been changed in its 100,000km life. Now with the VMX80 it seems to get much warmer without even giving it a real thrashing. Any ideas?

Yeah, you can do anything on the floor if you have to. Sure makes you appreciate the old 2 post hoist.

If the workchop you want to take youre skyline to cant find any parts for it let alone a simple timing belt then you should go somewhere else. Many parts are simple to find if you can be bothered to look.

Anyone waiting on a Whiteline suspension pack
Bleach1 replied to craz0's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i have heard many similar stories in the industry similar to that. I tried to order a set of bilsteins a few weeks ago. The whole system just isnt good enough really. Not very professional. -
You know what, if you could make some cluster decals like that on a production line im 100% sure they would sell very well.
-
just a Daikin sports clutch. Felt really good. Very light, couldnt get the clutch to slip at all and this car has a few mods done on it. My mate is real happy with it as the old clutch required a bionic leg if you had to do city driving.

I ended up changing a friends clutch in an r32 gtst over last thursday and friday arvo. Now the job in itself is straight forward except for 1 or 2 bastard bolts, but going to the effort of doing it on the floor in a car port to save a few hundreds bucks may not be worth it. The box weighs a friggin tonn. All i can say is if you have to take your r32 box out think twice because you could have yourself some very sore arms the next morning and you will have done a hell of alot of swearing while doing it.

I was driving past a car yard in Wollongong on saturday and noticed a r33 gtst in the yard that had the Kakimoto wide body kit(cant remember correct name). We got into a little discussion about the car which was a bright monza red type colour, i commented that i didnt think it was a standard colour to which he assured me it is but since i wasnt 100% sure i didnt try to prove him wrong. Then the next one, i commented that it would be hard to sell at the $60,000k sticker price in my opinion bcause these days yopu can get a very nice GTR for that price. The rest of the convo went like this: Salesman: No you cant Me: Umm, yes you can. Salesman: no, you cant get an R33 GTR, the GTR skipped a generation, there are only R32 and R34 GTRs. Me: What are you talking about, of course there is. Salesman: Look i have been in the business for 25 years and have been selling nissans since before you were born and there has never been an r33 GTR. I gave up at that point as he was getting a bit fired up. Earlier on he had told me he also has the blue R34 Gtr that ran second in this years targa tasmania for sale but not in the yard because its to heavily modified. Correct me if im wrong but wasnt steve glenney's White R33 the car that came second? I have lost count with the amount of times i have had rediculous conversations like this with car salesmen. Surely if you want to be good a good saleman you should know what you are selling and not be a dickhead.

syd einfeld drive is a very tempting road to boot it along, thats why there are always cops there with their radars/laser/lidars etc...

Aftern owning a sr20de silvia for 3 years and getting around 450ks from 45L of fuel it was a big shock how much fuel my r33 uses. The best figures i have gotten are 11L/100ks on highway driving. I average 13.5L/100k in the city but have had it as high as 18L/100ks after a night of hard driving. I guess a relativly heavy car and a 6cyl turbo doesnt help with fuel consumption.

I know this has been asked a few times but the search didnt really show up alot. I am doing a clutch on an r32 next weekend and will be doing the job with the car up on 4 axle stands. I have taken plenty of boxes out in my time but all with the car up on a hoist at work. How have some people here managed to take out the gearbox? it looks fkn heavy on an r33, i havent yet looked at the r32. I have a pretty good quality blue point trolley jack i was thinking of trying to use. Does anyone know of any hire places that would hire out the floor transmission jacks?

shouldnt a retrofit to r134a be done during compliancing?
-
It wouldnt suprise me after seeing a s6 RX7 with the flashing lights and a cop writing out a ticket to some guy on the side of the highway once. This was a few years ago.

Has anyone noticed Mundine is talking a heap less shit these days? Maybe he woke up to himself.
