  1. How does that work? Im 23 and have an R34 Gtt and can easily afford insurance. I think insurance for imports has become a bit cheaper over the last 5 years because of competition and a greater understanding of the cars by the insurance companies.
  2. It all really deends on what type of bolt it is/how its placed and so on. If its in a tight place you are in a world of trouble. A technique i have found that works when all else fails is to use a sall cutting piece on a die grinder and cut the head of the bold so u can put some sort of flat blade crewdriver bit in there. The easiest way is what already been said. Band a bigger allen key in or bank a socket over. Either way if you are in a tight spot that could be difficult.
  3. Hey mate, try selling this on this forum. www.rctech.net. There is an Australia sections with its own for sale section. I have sold heaps of RC gear there.
  4. Thats at Edward Lee's auto ceneter in sydney. Make sure they aint those stupid VORK rims with VOLK stickers!
  5. Copper plugs you can clean on a wire buff if you have to and it ussually does a good job. Iridium plugs can also be done but you have to be very careful because the tip is alot more delicate.
  6. Thats what you can do if it isnt all melted. The globe comes genuine with the holder though id say...
  7. One of the globes for the buttons on my AC control unit in my R34 has blown. I took the globe out and have been to 2 Nissan dealers and both havent known what to order and told me they can just order globes in but if they are wrong i wont get my money back so it was a general waste of time. I have attatched a pic so if anyone knows where in Sydney i can locate a globe like this it would be a big help!
  8. Selling an R33 was possibly the most painful experience of my life! It seems to be more of an R33 problem though as they are definatly the most common and unbelievably hard to sell no matter how long you wait. However this doesnt seem to be the case for R32 Gtst's. I have a number of friends who have owned them and all have sold fairly easily. A good friend of mine just sold his lightyl tuned 92 gtst for $16000!
  9. Ok this is the latest with the headlights on this car. I think i possibly have the most dody halogen conversion ever. I could not aim the head lights and they were weak as piss to the point it was dangerous to drive at night so i went to remove and inspect the globes. As i removed the globe i noticed like a ceramic ring had been put between the H1 globe and the back of the fitting to stop the globe falling through into the headlight and as i removed the retainer that was just grabbing one small corner of the globe the cermaic ring on both sides crumbled into bits!@@!@#@#!@@ Now also the guy that imported the car isnt going to let me take the parts that removed so im a bit pissed. Whats the best option to temporarily hold my H1 globes in and what are the options for converting to Xenon? Is it economical to buy a complete xenon equiped headlight unit for the R34?
  10. I cant give exact specifics for the skyline but the lock up function of the torque converter is basically a fuel consumption or cruising aid. There is always a bit of drive lost through the oil in the converter during normal use but at cruising speeds the converter will lock up to give a direct drive from the engine to the transmision.
  11. I have an R34 and the globe in the oil temp guage has blown. Can someone just give me a quick run down on how to access these globes in the dash guages... Thanks.. I tried the search function but nothing relevant came up.
  12. I only drove the car at night for the forst time last night and the head light aim is absoloutly FKD!!$@#@$ I tried to adjust the aim but even on the lowest settings the aim is still way to high. Im guessing you pretty much have to remove the headlight to see if its worth attemption the conversion...

  14. My friend just bought a V35 and paid in the high 40's for it. Just out of interest how much Profit would the car yard have made from the car? It was an import yard so im guessing they get all the compliance done at a good price.
  15. Where can i get a gear knob like in that middle picture???!@$@!#$%!@$%@!
  16. Ok, it sounds like a bitch. I have access to an untouched pair of the xenon headlamp units. But im guessing its still not a simple job of just swapping the headlamps over with the associated components. Ah well...
  17. Yeah it has the xenon housing but it actually looks neat when they fitted the halogen globes. There is a spare plug there that is taped up. I havent got the origional parts but will be picking them up during the week. I mean i don think its going to be as easy as fitting the origional ignighter and globe unfortunatly.
  18. I just picked up an R34 GTT and want to refit the xenon lights that were removed at compliance. Does anyone know what is ussually invloed to refit the origional hardware? I asked in the skyline specific area but havent had any help...
  19. After selling my R33 about 12 months ago i decided to go out and get me a nice r34. I have just got the car and as they ussually do they have taken the xennon lights out for compliance but i have been told i can have all the old hardware if i want. What is involved in refitting the lights ussually? The other thing is the car is a 99 model with 32000k's. I have to say the interior is nothing short of immaculate but the body has the ussuall little scratches and so on but i still cat believe a 7 year old car would have that many k's. What are your opinions on cars with this amount of k's? I have the option of buying some 350z 18inch rims for the R34 but wont be able to see them on the car first, has anyone got some pics of an R34 with the updated 350z 18inch rims? Last thing for the moment but i paid $24000 for the car and also wanted some thoughts on how much the R34 will depreciate over the next 5 years or so. I know no one can be accurate but i know the R33 lost value in a huge way from say 2000 to 2004.
  20. Car theft is a part of life and it aint going to change. Im sick of reading all the sob stories on here about people with GTR's especially getting stolen and hardly anyone having any insurance. NO INSURANCE = NO SYMPATHY
  21. Try Rc hobbies on Parra road at Petersham. They stock alot of HPI stuff and are a bit cheaper that HobbyCo. Or just order direct from their site www.rchobbies.com.au.
  22. My mate just picked up his for 41k. No nice rims though and its just the silver colour. White looks better.
  23. Come out to a race and get a membership form and pay. Races are the 1st and 3rd sundays of each month. The next race meet will be pretty quiet because there is a big race in brisbane next week so next week would probably be good to come join up and maybe get your car on the track. There is ussually a website with all the info but for some reason its down at the moment. Its in Helles reserve at Moorebank, On the intersection of the M5 and Moorebank ave.
  24. I have been racing on road R/c cars for about 5 years and am a member of a world class track located in Moorebank just off the M5. Membership costs $80 a year and with that you can get to attend race meets alot cheaper and you get a set of keys to the track! So when there is no club racing on you can go and practice or have a drift meet with friends etc whenever you want. So if you want to have a rc get together at a proper track this is the place to do it. I have some pics of the track and my rc car at a race i attended last year.
