Please do tell me what is average about the set up in this car as i stated the oil was only due to being overfull and is usualy never an issue. once cleaned up and with the oil at the correct level there wasn't a problem and the engine does not breath at all. If you think that this is a very average job please include some consrtuctive critisism you must have some experiance building track cars yourself to come to this conclusion. I would welcome seeing some of your handywork.

The oil in the boot was due to the dry sump tank being slightly overfull so it did drop a little oil probably around 2-300ml out of the breather. Once at the right level the engine doesnt breath at all. Must apoligize for the oil trail though i was unaware that the small rubber bung was not it the wheel well to stop any spills untill after i took the car out for my last session.

Well said while standing on the pit wall and not having a go. Top effort to join the forum yesterday and then procede to inform us of your valued opinion on the driver talent invovled in the event. You should turn up and show everyone how it is done at the next event

Beer Barons 2 day format sounds great. I had never been to OP before so had a lot of trouble getting my head around the track and driving a car that i was unfamilar with didnt help my plight 27th outright (car 35) in a car that is capable of much more. But still had a great time. Congratulations To Matty Car (36 same car) 8th outright on only his second time at OP with some less than good condition tyres was a top effort IMO as we definatly didn't take the event as seriously as a lot of the other competitors. Checked tyre pressures once and that was the extent of our prep. I was wrapped with the way the car performed as it was built by myself and Matty in My shed without the help or support of any workshops so the fact that we both thrashed the car all day and never had to touch the toll box was awsome and no mean feat for a GTR. Congrats to Mark and Russ aswell both put down some awsome times in their respective machinery. Just the fact mark went so close the lotus was a top efort and goes to show that the GTR really is the supreme weapon of choice considering it is a 20 year old car and has some pretty severe wieght to contend with. Just wait untill the boys get to release the real potential of that 35 with a few mods i think we could all be in trouble. And props to the hi power racing guys in their aspirated CRX stupid fast time from that car. And congrats to Ian and Nathan for a well run event for the first time. Bring on the next event as I am sure it will only get bigger and better from here

Was a great event and went super smooth for the first time. Will definatly be back again for the next one in my own car (will try and spend more time on the track rather than off track at the next event had a bit of a shocker saturday first time at OP takes a bit to get your head around the track layout ) Was a good fun day. Congratulations to all the competitors and winners. And sympathyies to all tht suffered from any drama especially the guy in the R34 that suffered that unfortunate (racing incident )

I think having a pro drivers stepping into cars will detract from the event and its success as it simply becomes cheque book racing then rather than a grass roots style of event. And i believe that Australia would not be able to sustain a series of this kind due to lack of popualtion and funds and if competitors get discouraged from entering this will only harm the event. Just look at drifting for example imagine if in its infancy a local workshop had a pro D1 driver driving their car and winning everything I doubt that it would be as popular as it is today because people would have been discouraged from entering due to the one sided compition. The series as it stands now is extremely popular and has fostered a lot of up and coming local talent and companys. I believe that this style of event could grow to become just as popular as drifting and progress to a similar level as long as it is run so as not to discourage grass roots level competitors.

R33 Gtr Engine Price Drop
dazmo replied to dazmo's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I wouldn't want to seperate them as second hand stnd turbos and manifolds aren't worth much. So the price wouldn't be that much lower even if i did want to seperate them. $4700.00 for a R33 engine in perfect condition is a good price anyway. -

R33 Gtr Engine Price Drop
dazmo replied to dazmo's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Any takers perfect condition R33GTR engine -
I live on the gold coast the engine in this post has been sold but i do have another engine that i just removed out of my R33GTR engine was running in perfect condition (reason for removal is due to a whole new engine being fitted as i am builing this car as a dedicated track car) the car ran 12.6 1/4 mile with this motor fitted with stnd exhaust and paper air filter and the factory boost restrictor removed so is a good healthy engine. the engine has done 110 000 klms and as stated is out of a R33GTR so has the better crank ect. As stnd GTR turbos are not really worth much on their own I would prefer to sell the engine complete I want $4700 for the complete engine wich is a good price for a perfect condition R33GTR engine and certainly much cheaper than even a stnd freshen up. Phone or PM me if interested Daz.

Who's car would that be would be keen to check it out. Must be a bit of a weapon if its only that far behind with restrictors in place. As i would have thought that the Mark/Russ/Hi Octane car would have been the benchmark for track spec GTR's in oz as they seem to have the runs on the board. There are plenty of keyboard warriors out there but not to sure how many will back up there talk with times at the track ?. Should be an interesting event anyway sounds like there will be some tuff cars comeing out of the woodwork.

sorry, that makes absolutely no sense at all. Why does that make no sense at all are you of the opinon that no one outside japan is capable of moding a R35 GTR ?. It seems to me that if any workshop has access to the car at the same time as japanese workshops there would be no reason they would not be able to develop thier own parts in a similar time frame. As much as i love japanese aftermarket parts they are not always the be all and end all of aftermarket performance. Take the australian made APS turbo kit for the 350z wich is a popular kit in japan and according to a japanese fellow i spoke to at tsukuba that had one fitted to his car is better quality and makes more power that the turbo kits offered from japanese manufacturers. And like has already been stated australia led the devolpment of the R32GTR so I see no reason that australian companys cant be at the forefront of development for the R35GTR makes complete sense to me.
