Awsome effort mate especially for a first attempt. Would be very interested to see version 2.0 if the first attempt looks this good i think you would be able to do something pretty special for the next version andf the design looks good will be keeping an eye out for your next version.

In defence of the porkers Noel i would not exactly say Mark (Handbrake's) GTR exactly has limited mods. Murry Coot suspension, Willall coolers all round, Upgraded brake rotors, Willall Turbos, Cobb ECU, Upgraded intercoolers, full exhaust. Definatly not to take anything away From Marks times as there a bloody impressive and i am only hopeing i can get close to his times. But in my opinion that is far from limited mods for an R35 i would think that his car would actually be one of the most modified GTR's around. The fact the car is capable of running the same lap times as a GT3 or Cup Car is awsome as these are two of the best road (GT3) race (cup cars) cars around but lets still not all forget that they are still only an NA 6 cylinder all be it the best one money can buy. Power to Weight is just so Fcuking hard to beat.

I have aq set of KUHMO v710 ecsta's to try on my GTR hopefully at pauls next time attack meet (finally). But for me it all came down to price the v710 $500.00 a tyre brand new against the cheapest semi in my required size being $630.00 so for me i thought it made sense to save $520 and go with a faster tyre. And as paul runs his sessions as 1 warm up 5 hot laps and 1 cool down i think it will give me enough time to get some heat in the tyres and by the 2nd - 3rd lap they should come on and allow me to hopefully get in a few quick laps. Will see how i go and post again once i have a result.

R34 GT-Four RB26 Time Attack Build
dazmo replied to Luke_ENR34's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Hey Luke good to meet you at Superlap the other week mate. Build is coming along nicley a huge amount of work going into this build should see some great results at the end. If you have any questions or if there is anything I can help you with mate dont hesitate to shoot me a pm as i am more than happy to help. Will be keeping an eye on your progress. -
What if anything is going to be done to the head ? And who is building your engine ? I would be having a good chat with them in regards to the whole package and what you idealy want to achieve. Cams are always a compromise in the respect that to get more top end you will sacrafice bottom end and vice versa', If you are having the engine built by someone experienced with RB26 or RB stroker engines they should be able to provide you with a combo that will best suit your end goal. Just dont get to fixated on peak power especially if circuit racing is the main priority as the fastest car at the track is not always the one with the most power.

Sterling effort on the lap times guys extremely impressive times. In defence of the 21 year old R32 I would suggest that the R32 would pick up a couple of seconds a lap if run on a set of modern slicks as tyre technoligy has come a long way in the last 21 years.

I agree with Marlins first post. All I have to add to that is there are some real helpfull people but also a lot of dick heads on SAU.

Urgent Question Water Pump In 32gtr 33gtr
dazmo replied to dcanna's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Mate there is somthing up with whoever you have bought the pump through, But can garentee that the water pump is the same on all RB26 engines regardless of model mate. Maybe the supplier marks the pumps they sell with their own part no or somthing. -
Urgent Question Water Pump In 32gtr 33gtr
dazmo replied to dcanna's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Water pump is the same on all RB26 engines regardless of model. If it is leaking a small dribble from the snout on the front of the pump the seal will be stuffed. I would not reccomend useing a second hand water pump as a brnd new N1 pump is only around $280.00 dollars or so -
First thing to do would be comp and leakdown as stated above and agree with the post above that 15 - 20 laps flat out would have your standard bottom end working pretty hard as cylinder temps would be right up there. What sort of A/F are you running and Does the nistune have air temp compensation ?. I would hazzard a guess that more than likely due to cylinder temp and probably some detonation that you will have a piston that has started to go soft allowing the crown to start to collapse pinching a ring allowing excessive blow bye But untill you do a comp and leakdown test you really wont know.

55.6 is a bloody good time mate i would be pretty happy with that. That is about what i am aiming for out of my car as well so we might be able to have a bit of fun when i finally get my self organized will be trying to get sorted for the next track day but will just have to see how i go with time. But no doubt you would be pretty wrapped with the result though should be able to shave a few 10ths off yet with some fresh tyres and some more time in the seat.

Nice work Mark looks like the car is progressing alomg nicley. Glad that the missus has come around for you as well. What sort of times where you able to put in at the track on the slicks and with the new mods?

Is the RIPS design patented?. If so then there could be a case for SPOOL to answer if not is just a case of bad luck. Anyone and everyone can debate the morals of copying a said design but at the end of the day this is just the harsh realities of the world we live in. I would just suggest that the there are not a multitude of ways to design one of these girdle set ups so would suggest that any girdle produced will look very close to most other designs. That being said I am not saying it is the right thing to do or that you dont have the right to be upset but unless your design is patented you have absoloutly no leg to stand on threatening legal action. I would think that you would be better off highlighting the fact that yours is an original design that has been in production for x amount of years with roughly x number being produced and running without any drama, is machined in NZ rather than china and try to emphasize that yours is a premium product. Just that fact that SPOOLS (i assume) are machined in china will put a lot of people off as there will always be a segment of the market that will not buy or use chinese produced parts regardless of cost or claimed quality.

Hey RIPS just wondering if your design is patented. Seems as though there is not exactly a 100 different ways to produce a cap/girdle set up and just seems a bit rich to suggest that because you produced one first no one else can produce one. As looking at both set ups it is pretty much a no brainer that both would be the most straight forward and logical way to manufacture the product. And not to take anything away from either of you guys for the efforts you put in but mate it is not exactly rocket science for any compatent machinest to produce one of these girdles. Just seems like the response from you is a bit of an overreaction on your part. But then again if you have gone to the trouble of registering your design with an international patent then that could be a different story but even if that is the case it would seem that a 10% veriation on the desighn would not be to difficult for spool to achieve if it is not already 10% different is quite difficult to tell from the pics posted. This is in no way meant to be having a dig at you just my personal take on what I have read.

Two.06l Final Event At Compak Attak
dazmo replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Hey mate good to see that you have come to your senses and are going to come circuit racing . Best of luck with the last meet i hope it all comes together for you after all the work and effort that has gone into it. -
The turbos are definatley not ceramic wheeled. The Apexi range of turbos are a very good turbo and I am confident that they will make good power. These turbos will have slightly more lag on a 2.6lt than a pair of 25/30's or -5 garrets due to their slightly larger size but will make really good top end with good mid range response. Atomicbomberman and myself have both been extremely busy with work and some other commitments so there has not been a great deal of progress but there should be some updates on the build coming soon.

There a good looking pair of seats Mark I could picture a pair of those in your car mate. I Reckon you could probably even fit them in an earlier model GTR !!!.

top of the list.

I run a -16 return line and a -12 feed to the oil pump with a 3gallon tank in the boot and have no issues with oil pressure. A -12 will be fine for the pressure feed. What sort of pump do you have I run a peterson pump and it has -12 inlet on the pressure side and all the scavage lines and a -16 fitting for the return line and is supplied by peterson in that configuration. I personally would not try to put any sort of pressure relief valve in the breather line from the tank as you do not want it pressure in the tank at all best bet is just to breath your oil tank into a catch can and then vent this can thru the boot floor so you dont fill the cabbin with fumes/
