White R32 Gtr Police Chase? Ending With Spike Strips...
Luciano replied to bluegts's topic in South Australia
all these thefts... i cant believe it... this has seriously got me dusting off the old club lock out the shed... So if these pricks come armed with their gadgets to get the car started, theyd wanns be carrying a decent hack saw. -
i dont think you'll need to worry about the cosmetics... but im not 100% on that! i havent been to regency in 6 years! things may have changed. Another thing you can always do, is ring up and enquire about the things youre worried about> dont tell them who you are of course, or what car you own> say youve got a 180 or something... hehe. > Especially for your MOMO steering wheel. I think if its over 330mm, its not defectible.

as youve mentioned, youll definitely need to return it to stock ride height. get rid of your boost gauge temporarilty, and make sure you hide any of the wiring that powers it. As for your exhaust, they dont actually defect aftermarket systems (providing you have a cat convertor to comply with emissions); they actually defect the noise level: from memory, i think the max sound level youre aloud to have for a 6cylinder is 90DB. (mine measured 93, and they still fkn picked me for it... wankers.) if you have a turbo timer, you will need to lose that as well. They will also check/do: a brake test, check that child anchorage points are accessible through your parcel shelf for a baby seat, check your tyres arent too worn, test your seat belts, test your indicators lights and brake lights, test your horn, they will basically examine underneath your car for rust, seized up bushes etc, and of course > they will peer under your bonnet for stuff that isnt ment to be there like open to atmo BOVs. They cant say f**k all about the stock one. You should be able to pass with a pod filter, and a sturt brace as well.

certainly would be brilliant to have competition drags back! if only they'd fix the bloody joint up a little....

Why You Shouldnt Lighten Your Stock Flywheel :o
Luciano replied to Rekin's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
holy sh^% i may never drop me clutch again! -
just out of curiosity; Im sure many of you have copped a canary on the windscreen of your Skyline. Including myself. At one stage, i had 3 fkn stickers on the windscreen at once... My question IS: What were you originally defected for when pulled over / vehicle randomly inspected? Too Loud? Too Low? Bald Tyres? The open to atmosphere Blitz Blow off Valve was my serial offender/perpetrator! Oh, and once bald tyres... It wasnt until i had to go Regency park where they went over the whole bloody car that they wrote me a nice list of things that needed to be fixed/had to be reverted to stock. (this almost 7 years ago- back in 2000 -we live & learn eh!)... (All my aftermarket goodies are back on there now however ) You could take one look at my 33, and most people would pass it for bog stock; except the diameter of the rear muffler & its tip and the engine note when you hear it drive past. Have tried to keep it as sleepish as possible over the years i've owned it, and the last defect i received was the one for bald tyres in 2001. i must add though.... i have never copped a random vehicle inspection... all of my defects were obatined due to scallywag behaviour! Being young and stupid behind the wheel was probably a large contributor. So, what was it that the chops didnt like about your car that made em originally slap ya with a canary???

Missfire After Change Of Plugs....help A New Skyline Owner!
Luciano replied to 33driver's topic in General Maintenance
when i was driving my 33 around with un-gapped NGK iridiums, it would accelerate happily to 5000rpm, but then flat spots/misses all the way up to redline. it would only do this in cold weather, no matter what the engine temperature level. On a hot day (say 30+ degrees), it would not miss at all... (im guessing due to the lower boost levels [i dont have a boost controller or bleed valve]). as superspit says, Maybe it is a vaccum leakage of some sort 33driver... -
you can sometimes find these parts on eBay. just search 'r33' and you should get around 9 pages worth of various spare parts/aftermaket perfomance goodies/and sometimes useless shit.

Help Dropping Cylinder Rb25det Series1 R33
Luciano replied to Mobies's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
you should try what sl33py suggested in another thread in this forum. pretty easy test theory for your coils... at the end of the day, its all mechnical/machinery.... solutions exist! calling it a rusty bucket / shit box wont pin point your problem... does your turbo still boost up under acceleration? -
could be your sparkys also. before installing make sure they are gapped at approx 0.7 - 0.8 mm.

LOL, no cat-remains spunky! it did however put a slight dent in the botton of my smic! still good though, no leaks! it (the cat) wasnt a pretty scene... the poor bugger had a perfect 225/50 width of body flatness between his front and rear legs... basically ran him over flush in the stomach! i did feel quite bad knowing someones going to wake up the next day, not being able to find his/her cat, then cruising out the next day and seeing their it pancaked on the side of the road!

Car Going Is Storage, 9 Months. Bad Move?
Luciano replied to enroe's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
in 2004 i lost my license for ten months. Def disconnect the battery. I Just fired her up once a month, and took it for a quick trip around the back streets. As soon as i got the license back, basic service, and no worries at all. And now ive lost my license again :| -
it may actually be your immobiliser. try disconnecting it temporarily, then start.
-
your aftermarket alarm is likely to have an earth tab somewhere underneith your bonnet which will allow you to completely bypass the alarm and immobilizer. So you wont need the key for the lock on the back of the siren. you just gotta know where it is/find it.

Grimes On The Windscreen, Windows, Side Mirros, Back Screen...
Luciano replied to tyaos's topic in General Maintenance
i had the exact same problem when my 33 landed here in 2001, this grimey mist all over the windows, mirrors and headlights. headlights i used autosol (metal polish), and they came up f*&^ing shiny as, crystal clear; brilliant! for the windows and mirrors however, as vidospace said, try the steal wool. Should work a treat. i actually used a razor blade, and it worked a charm also. But it did take me bloody ages to go over all the windows! -
you will feel quite a loss of power, and hear slight sort of back fire, under load of acceleration (or say, a flat spot in revvs whilst accelerating)

autObahn have some 'decent' prices on FMIC kits. Dont ask how much here, do some homework mate. Prices always vary.
-
book your car to get tuned on a dyno mate. Theyll figure everything out for you.

a t70 with external gate... you could be running MUCH more than 5psi... where are you reading 5psi? do you have an aftermaket boost gauge? if youre reading that supossed figure from the stock boost gauge, its not actually measuring in psi...
-
i had the same problem on the left side. a cat started running along side me on the footpath as i was driving slowly down a 50km/h street, and naturally, after i second of him keeping up with me, i knew the little prick was going to cross the road, and that he did... i hit the skids...Bang... straight under the front left wheel... so i turn around to go investigate...cat is flattened. anyhow, i hear this flapping as i turn out on to the next main road, and then another bang... plastic guard crushed straight under both front left rear left tyres... doh! i have just left it bare for the last 6 months, and the stock side mount intercooler is visible. True about your concern with electrics however (as none are visible on the left side for myself [maybe because of the intercooler being there]. Try and source one from a wreckers. id estimate a cost of anything between 50-150, even though its literally a moulded piece of plastic!
