  1. Duncan - measured bores and they are all 86mm.
  2. Duncan, yes I have the block for sale - $250 for bare block. bores are in good condition. Will measure bore size tomorrow. let me know if interested. predator, sorry the intake manifold and spark plug cover is the only parts I don't have with the motor.
  3. The head includes all camshafts, values, rocket covers, cam gears etc. Head doesn't have the spark plug cover and does not include coil packs. Head is ready to bolt onto a block (RB30/RB26)
  4. Sorry mate. I would like to keep the covers with the head.
  5. Hello I have the following parts for sale from a R32 GTR Motor. It is basically a complete motor but has been completely stripped, hence the parts sale: Head (no manifolds) - SOLD turbos with manifolds and dumps, unknown kms - SOLD throttle bodies - SOLD airconditioner compressor - $250 water pump - $50 oil pump (has slight marking from crank drive) - SOLD sump with front diff - SOLD 6 standard GTR injectors with fuel rail - SOLD 6 std coil packs - SOLD Crank, just polished by engine builder so good cond - SOLD also GTR gearbox, push type with transfer case - $750 all prices are ono. Might have other engine bits not listed. Cheers, Brett [email protected]
  6. I did mine and got a reading of 177-185psi across the lot. I think that the actual reading doesn't matter too much (I think the manual has 150psi as minimum) as long as they are within a certain percentage of each other - 10% I believe.
  7. Hey guys, sorry to open this again, but: Is it possible that by adding a remote oil filter kit with the oil filter opening pointing down that you are starving the engine of needed oil. For example: With the motor off the oil level in the sump is Ok. Once started, the oil pressure fills the remote oil filter, which takes from the motor the amount of oil required to fill the oil filter plus associated lines? In the normal position the oil filter would still contain a certain amount of oil when the motor is off. Maybe the oil filter should be mounted with the opening up so that the filter is full even when the motor is Off?
  8. Thanks, I tried daves email and it bounced?
  9. Hello I am after a GTR crank in good condition to use in a rebuild. Would prefer R33/34 but R32 Ok as well. Cheers, Brett [email protected] 0409 817 616
  10. I have priced a few options and here they are: Jun sump baffle kit: approx $450. Fits into standard sump hence no extra oil capacity. Grex sump extension + baffle: approx $520. This requires getting someone to alloy weld the extension on. Not sure on cost of welding? $100? This kit also appears to have a modified sump pickup. rocket cover baffle: approx $220. Not sure if needed after some of the above replies. Custom sump baffle as mentioned by SK: approx $1500. This includes around 8l of oil capacity, sump baffle trap doors, modified oil pickup, and return lines for oil feeds. Looks like a lot of $$ but seems to offer the best in oil increase and engine insurance. Not sure if motor has to come out completely to modify sump. I have my motor out but would still see about 3-4 hours to take off sump and probably another 3-4 hours to fit again. I am not a mechanic so maybe they can do it faster. I would like to hear about what the Trust kit offers?
  11. SydneyKid, I have one more question: You talk about enlarging the oil chambers returning to the sump. Do you also recommend putting in a oil restrictor for the feeds to the head? Or is this not necessary because of the larger returns and extra external return oil feed?
  12. My car was running an exhaust, had the boost restrictor removed and had adjustable cams gears. I think it produced 211kw at 4 wheels at Croydons. Therefore a very mildly modified example. My suspension was konis with King springs but I was getting a lot of slide due to cheap Khumo tyres. I think the excessive slide would also have contributed to oil movement.
  13. Yes, I did not think that a car like the GTR would suffer too much from track days. I did actually fit a remote oil filler and changed oil before going. Thanks for the advice. I think I will look into the custom sump idea as I would like ot return to the track without having the large repair bill.
  14. Hello I have just finished pulling down my GTR motor, after suffering what a few others have, and found that the 1st and 2nd big end bearings are shot. The damage was severe enough to have scored the crank beyond repair. This was caused by a track day at Wakefield were I only completed 5 laps before stopping. During this time the oil pressure and temperature was good. My first question is: how does this occur? I assume from reading other posts that the motor experiences surging and also pools oil in the back of the head. This causes the bearings to temporarily be without oil and start to bind? Would the five laps have been enough to turn the bearings into paper thin strips? or had the bearings already had some damage? the second question is: how do you stop this from occuring again? I have seen products like the Jun sump baffle kit, and the Grex sump extension kit with baffle. Also, I have read about blocking the oil from the head via head gaskets? any help appreciated as I do not want to rebuild the engine only to have it go the next time I am on the track again. Cheers.
  15. Hello Does anybody have a short motor for a Nissan Skyline GTR? ie, block with pistons and crank. I am looking to rebuild so condition not essential but don't want scored bores. Cheers, Brett
  16. Hello I require ASAP: a front input shaft (23 spline) for a R32 GTR gearbox. New or second hand. Aftermarket Ok as well. Cheers, Brett 0409 817 616
  17. Hello My R32 GTR when I brought it had no rev limit set. I am planning on taking it to the track and would like the rev limiter placed back into the computer. Does anyone know how to do this or who can do this? I assume that it is just a case of remapping the standard computer? Cheers.
