  1. Thanks BB, it does look like he would need to get the car for less than 70k to make it worth while.... The UK looks good though currently!!!
  2. Seeing as BB is not answering as quickly as I would like does anyone else have any experience with this type of thing????
  3. Dearest Beer Baron (Rich) Jedi master I have a friend that lives in Hong Kong, and will be buying a 07 R35 20k on the clock for a killer deal.... He wants to know after he owns the car for 12 months, what would his costs be to personal import it and register it etc etc.... (is it cheaper to do it in certain states?? i.e. SA versus NSW) the car will cost him 70k Aust currently. what would the breakdown be i.e. GST, TAX, rough transport costs, rego, etc.... hope your good big guy!!!
  4. http://www.advertiser.com.au/sportsstar09/finalist04.html Now nominated for South Australian Sports Star of the Year 2009 come and support the only driver to be nominated, and help motor racing get over all the ball sports!!! "The 21-year-old's move from Adelaide to Melbourne, to be closer to his Formula Ford team, Sonic Motor Racing Services, paid big dividends with the Flagstaff Hill youth winning the 2009 Australian Championship. Nick won 12 races this year bringing his national total to 22 wins, breaking a 15-year-old record and giving him more wins than Mark Webber, the Brabham brothers, Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup COMBINED!!! Lowndes, Whincup and Garth Tander were past Formula Ford Champions."
  5. just one day to go!!!.... I sure hope there are some votes to come from SAU!

  8. G'day all!!! Just scouting out any info that others might have ( I have done a few searches, but haven't found too much) my current plan has me going :- MEL to HKG and catching up with mates then onto Tokyo for a few days from the 28th Sept.... staying at the mecure hotel in ginza shinkansen to nagoya and staying in a ryokan before the GP (ryokan is in ozone) then back to tokyo... leaving Japan for bathurst on the 7th oct so in total I have 11 day's-ish in Japan.... and have got a JR rail pass.... (no nozumi) things I'd love to do!!! - hire a GTR - yes it is possible I am sure, and I'm 35 so not a young punk!! .... ideas? - track time (not in the GTR obviously...)? or visit another circuit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsukuba_Circuit maybe??? - places to eat? - places to see cool japanese things? - nismo factory? is it possible? how? basically I'll go anywhere I can, and make most use of the rail pass... fill me with ideas boys!! I will post pics of the adventure!!!!
  9. Thanks Drunken.... Neil I'm curious as to who you could of voted for that will actually have a shot at winning (the driving phase, not this "dancing with the stars" part..) Crashing is part of racing, although 19 podiums from 20 races and 12 wins in 2009 shows we don't crash... the most damage from 2009 so far has been 2 BIG stone chips on the nose box... oh they came from the GT-R safety car while following it at Winton http://www.driverdb.com/drivers/10915/
  10. Surely there are some people here that want to see an Aussie go all the way to F1????
  11. Well as you may or may not know, Nick has just wrapped up the 2009 championship in Australian Formula Ford, but what for the future?.... Well one chance he has, is to compete in the Grand Prix Shootout, which would pay for him to race in Europe... If he is fast enough who knows where he can go?! Simply, all you have to do is log onto his Driver Database profile, and type in your email address and click vote! yes its that simple!! Then simply click on the link that will be emailed to you and you've have helped give one of Australia's most talented young drivers a chance... so what are you waiting for? http://www.driverdb.com/drivers/10915/ for more information on what it is all about see http://www.grandprixshootout.com each internet connection can vote up to 10 times (10 email addresses for the one IP) so everyone in your house or work can vote too! ( or if you have more than one email addy ) PS If you have the time, please send this link onto as many people as you can as every little vote counts !!! www.nickpercat.com results speak for themselves most wins in 40yr history of Formula Ford.... 20 races this year for 19 podiums and 12 wins! see www.formulaford.com.au for details
  12. yep you are 100% correct with the last part.... I'm not saying you don't have race experience, but professional teams use N2 for a reason, and its not to just spend money.... we have found that tyres that run even one session exposed to water (on the race track) are changing the tyre's characteristics and knocking maybe 1 second a lap off optimum times once the track dries!!!! this same effect was happening with air (even dry) as it wasn't as dry as N2.... when you are running control tyres, and have to maintain a tyre bank, its rather important to look after the rubber you have.... so back to road cars! if running N2 you will have the tyre closer to optimum pressure for the life of the tyre, and that will aid in tyre life/wear/grip all the good things!!!
  13. well I could.... if I owned it for 12mths in the UK
  14. Marko! how are you going!!... If you get an R35 before me jeeeeez... haha! yeah I could get one in the UK, but I would need to keep it there for 12mths! ...which isnt too much of a drama! as I have a house there... but if I was going to that sort of effort it would only be for a gallardo or GT3 RSR
  15. snowy! Im curious.... are you saying that TQ didnt have to change anything? or that he had to change a lot..... (maybe your humour flew over the top!!)
