so is it the usual "oh the GT-R won ban that sucker " I gave up the targa idea when they made it so much more expensive to compete! no mods to your 20k car thanks, but you are welcome to turn up with a factory modded car at 400k...... hmmm -

mate I had this issue with the HA adjustment nut turning under its own steam.... fix:- tighten the lower part that is the nut to the shaft.... once that is tight, hold the seperated part at the top and turn it.... it should now click as long as the lower part does not free up simple...

Crd Dyno Tuning Of My R32 Gt-r.... My 0.02c!

TommyK I'm Glad you got what you wanted from BEL Ben is a top guy and had my car moving!!!! The whole reason for this thread and the info I have tried to put out in an un-biased way is that there is more than 1 way to skin a cat! I went to CRD and got the CAM timing that I knew would have a gain in my particular case (rebuilt motor with poncoms etc etc) .... At this stage Ben doesn't do cam timing, as the dyno room and dyno are not complete (not for a lack of trying mind you!!!!) I am sure as I am alive that with time, and more GT-Rs through the shop, they will also be able to eek out the idiosyncrastic ways of the RB26 engine as has CRD... its all about time with your head over an engine bay in a dyno so to speak.... Even now I am interstate I will be keeping a close eye on the whole NSW GT-R scene as it is were the passion is :) Marko..... when I am back for work, you will have to take me for a spin Morgs..... get it to the track son! okbye -
Bump.... I never knew you could run it in RWD mode only??? hmmmm so hold the button down for 5 secs eh? any other tricks? maybe a post in the first one with this tip and other instructions on use would be a great addition Duncs...

all I can say is that go and speak to Jim personally, he will lay all the info on the table, and you can make your own mind up now having talked to Jim, I can safely go to someone like tillbrooks here in Adelaide and get a power run once the twin 63mm exhaust is done, and I will be able to check the AFRs with a measure of accuracy armed with the knowledge of what I have to do to get a true reading.... -

williamsf1 replied to williamsf1's topic in New South Wales
Ahhh lwells if you knew me I was only having a piss take, and I don't take life/GTR/work/girls/bludging all that seriously... no I wasn't defending CRD in fact if you knew me personally I would go to the other extreme and state that I would always defend BEL as I am personally in debt to the hard work they have done over the months... instead of theorizing and talking about things on here, I just picked up the phone and rang Jim.... he covered all the bases, and answered all my questions that had been raised here from yourself and others. oh and the speeds and rpm on both the DART dyno sheets are the same and the same gear mode etc etc and yeah that was just a gentle dig about your stocker no harm... -

maybe you make a very valid point.... high 11's would have been the norm say 5 -7 yrs ago when the best fuel we could get was 95 RON and a high sulphur content also.... now with low sulphur 98 RON from the likes of BP 12.0 - 12.2 is seen as the norm... -

williamsf1 replied to williamsf1's topic in New South Wales
Ok folks... well this topic is starting to sound like the AFR one I started, and less about cam timing .... I have just got off the phone with Jim @ CRD and we had a chat about all things AFR and knock basically there is a storm in a teacup here, and a whollllllle lot of extra things that need to be covered to get the true picture... suffice to say I am happy with the way my car has been tuned, and have faith in the principals and experience implemented to get it to this point.... like the saying goes "oils aint oils" well AFRs from one sensor to another will differ also there is also some inhouse experience that he passed on, but I will save that for another day.... Thanks Jim, and I look forward seeing you on a flight sometime -

hey mate.... Im not sure what you are trying to say? I would say that the CRD dyno sheet is in what I would call "expanded scale" with a larger printed gap between 10 and 12.5 than most other systems I have seen.... unfortunately the ink was running out in the yellow so it is hard to see the graph paper lines in the printout, but if you look closely you will see that it sits on the scale line of 12.0 AFR and bubles up and down a little here and there.... if you have an example of an larger scale AFR that would be cool to see... Im in Adelaide now, and will be getting a check on my AFRs as I have a twin exhaust going on the car 2moro... -

Dear Captain Obvious.... If you care to look at the 2 dyno sheets above all your questions are answered... isn't it obvious???? yes I make more power earlier yes I make more torque and longer yes I make more total power yes I have a longer rev range yes the engine freely revs to the limiter I have spent a lot of money, time, and effort to get these results with each part matched together regardless of cost (obviously without wasting money, buying from suppliers and workshops that did the job at a better price for the same result) I strongly beleive that the HKS turbo in equal spec will always make more power earlier and total power will be higher... I'm happy to be proven wrong.... So how is your stock GT-R going -

well I will try and put it into figures for you timing and cam timing gave me these changes below before and after.... you make up your mind if cam timing and engine timing is worth while... remember this is just a number, but the difference in that number is the point I am trying to make.... nearly 70AWKW on a dynolog dyno.... to put it into perspective, I know Mik's car made 280AWKW on the dynolog in the GONG and DARTs dyno log is within 1 AWKW of that.... BEL are great guys!!! Ben Eric and the Brians did wonders for me, and others I know, but there workshop is still waiting for a dyno (has been on order for ages) and this is the limiting factor... CRD have the ability to play with GTRs for days at a time, and have been doing it since I was a baby I haven't got a bad word to say about either, and my opinion doesnt have a bias either way.... just the facts are Jim got more power.... game over.... -

williamsf1 replied to williamsf1's topic in New South Wales
TommyK yes like I said previously I am sure if given the right equipment Jim would have given you the results you are after.... you can only work with what you have on the day... simple or as harsh as that sounds... yes my turbos are HKS, and maybe that is just the reason I get a good spool time for the extra $$$ spent? the old saying.... "you get what you pay for...." And Yes Morgs did make an exhaust change, and I have seen the AFRs I believe the exhaust when tuned on the dyno down south was rather restrictive, and that now with that restriction removed the engine revs free-er.... from memory it was tuned to about 6800 as power started to drop off from there... maybe that is the major change... basically the tune was fine with the previous exhaust, and like anything, making a change as significant as that will free up some airflow.... I am confident he will have it touched up soon enough and be making a casual 500RWHP -
well my current FC kills instantly... I have it on good authority that this is a comman fault that is described above.... just contact apexi here in OZ or if you cant call BEL garage as they know of the problem... Im still waiting to get my first unit back!!!
