G'day. I'm really keen to get my hands on some DARK tail-lights or tail-light lenses for my series 1 R33 GTST sedan. I'm looking for the ones like in the attachment, but haven't had any luck yet. Can someone point me in the right direction? A rear spoiler would be nice too ... but it's the lights I'm focusing on. Cheers - Sven.

I reckon her best bet is to import one. There are plenty now available - try sites like: www.prestigemotorsport.com.au www.imports101.com.au www.sportsandprestigeimports.com You should be able to get what you want at a good price. Good luck

Drag racing suspected in crash deaths-StKilda
sven laptop replied to Let Me Drive's topic in Victoria
No, GTTR34, you don't show any signs of unnecessary aggression, do you??? But you're right about one thing: "incidents like this certainly don't improve the image of import car drivers." Unfortunately, neither do cases of those drivers calling each other "careless moron f*ckwits". How about we wait and find out what REALLY happened before we start flinging blame at people who already have quite a bit to deal with at the moment? That's my 2 cents worth. Drive safely. -

This affects me because I drive an import, live nearby to the area where this accident occurred, and I dont appreciate being harassed by cops because of the CARLESS actions of other drivers. YOU, GTTR34 as much as anyone else, are the type who give Skylines/imports/enthusiasts' cars a bad name. If you don't have any sympathy for 2 teenaged PASSENGERS who have been killed, regardless of the circumstances, then you're probably not going to give a fcuk (as you so cleverly type) about anyone else on the road. That is what causes accidents & ill feeling - people who don't care about other road users. Bagging other forum members for having a different opinion to yours really helps too, doesn't it??? No-one here knows what happened to cause that "accident", but it sure as hell doesn't help anyone to merely think about how it might affect you. I hope I don't have the misfortune to be driving on the same stretch of road as you! -
There have been lots of posts on this but I don't think there's been any single answer to the problem. I know some people have had their O2 sensor replaced & that's helped, while others have done something with the fuel pump. My car also stalls, or nearly does, sometimes when I'm taking of ... when it's idling & I first push the accelerator it dies a bit before it revs, which is very annoying. For what it's worth, the only thing that stopped it happening for me was getting the car serviced & tuned by someone who knows Skylines (in my case, Dr Drift). Good luck.

fs- parts from 2000 Wgn34 Stagea Rs4
sven laptop replied to insane's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
And tell us how the NEO goes in your R33. Is there a huge difference in noticeable power? How about fuel consumption? -
Hello Nightman, yes, I believe it lists the bearings, but for the life of me I can't find the bloody thing! Once I do locate it on my PC I will forward it to you. Cheers - Sven

Thanks Slim, to you and your dancing bananas. Your help has been underwhelming.

Come on - someone's gotta know the recommended service interval for a cam belt on an RB25DET!!!!!!!!!
-
I don't have the engine service manual but I do have a complete parts listing for the R33 (with digrams) which I can email to anyone who wants it. I would love to get hold of the R33 engine manual if anyone has it. Please PM me if you do.

G'day. My 93 model GTST has only done about 85,000km & as far as I know the cam belt should be changed at 100,000. But I've just realised that my car is almost 11 years old & I'm wondering if that means I should get the belt changed anyway. If so, can anyone recommend a good Skyline mechanic in Melbourne who can do the job for a decent price & not rip me off? Hope you can help Cheers - Sven

I'm after one too. Email me at: importcars75@hotmail

Pics of Stagea interior???
sven laptop replied to sven laptop's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
SKY 031, you are a legend - that's exactly what I was looking for (found it on the Nissan website, thanks to your link!). Definitely an improvement over the interior on the earlier model. As for the other photos posted here, I like that interior, but I agree it must be the more recent model (M35). So thanks to everyone who helped. As for ugliness, beauty is in the eye of the beholder & if anyone can find me a 280hp AWD wagon that looks better for under $25,000 then I'll certainly consider it! -
which cheap car should i get

For that money you could even afford some punctuation! -
Other possibility is you may have fried the computer when you jump started it. It's always a good idea to use jumper leads with surge protectors.

Pics of Stagea interior???
sven laptop replied to sven laptop's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Well, she hates riding in my R33 GTST because of the big bulge that comes out of the transmission tunnel & takes up so much passenger footroom. Also the boot's not real big when you've gotta load a pram & other assorted baby stuff in there. Bu the Stagea interior colours are the problem. I've seen that pic of a 98 interior before & it looks like a cat has vomited on the upholstery. But I want to see inside a 99 or 2000 model (they updated the Stagea in late 98 with more power & a slightly different face) to see if it looks any different. PS: I've already looked at every Stagea pic that Prestige Motorsport has on its site, but alas, no 99 or '00 interiors to be found! Anyway, thanks for your help fellas. -
If no luck there try Geoff at Prestige Motorsport. He has a list of the compliance places for Stageas (hew's started importing them now). From memory there are 3 workshops in Qld & one in WA that can comply them.

G'day, I hope someone can help. I want to import a 1999 or 2000 model Stagea (the AWD RB25DET version), but the opposition leader (my wife) won't agree on spending the money until she knows what it looks like inside. I've seen plenty of pics of earlier models but can't find interior shots of this model. Can anyone help??? Cheers - Sven

Mine is a stock standard series 1 R33 5-speed in gun-metal grey. I'm not thrilled about the look of the tail lights, but apart from that I reckon the sedans are the duck's guts in terms of appearance.

R33 GTR and GTST Original Parts
sven laptop replied to supahiro27's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm looking for a standard R33 sedan rear spoiler, gun-metal grey if possible. Let me know if you've got one or know where I can get one. Cheers -
Do Commodore Double-DIN units fit an R33?
sven laptop replied to sven laptop's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Paul, thanks for your MP3 advice & thanks for taking such an interest in my music collection, but please accept the following facts..... 1: I don't have $300 to throw around 2: I do have access to a very cheap ex-Commodore unit 3: Top-class sound quality is not one of my highest priorities at the moment 4: I have sh@tloads of cassettes which I like to play 5: I don't have time to go searching for the same music I already have on another format, or to transfer it all. But yes, I will consult the R33 stereo installation guide & try my best! -
Do Commodore Double-DIN units fit an R33?
sven laptop replied to sven laptop's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
I will certainly report on my progress if I do it, but first I really would like someone to tell me if it's possible before I waste an afternoon (and the skin off my knuckles, no doubt) trying! To you, Paul r33 & others who say "why are you still using cassettes?", it's because I have about 100 of them filled with music that's not available on CD. If you can show me how to transfer all this stuff to CD (CHEAPLY) then I will gladly convert to CD/MP3 or whatever the latest format happens to be this week. In the meantime, CD & cassette it is - that's why I have a double-DIN deck in the first place. Thanks for your interest & here's hoping someone has an answer to my original question Sven -
Do Commodore Double-DIN units fit an R33?
sven laptop replied to sven laptop's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Thanks for your responses, but I have a couple of constraints. Firstly, I want something with both CD and cassette (I've still got all my old stuff on tape). Secondly, I can get a Eurovox or Blaupunkt unit out of a Commodore very cheaply. Thirdly, it's only going through the standard Skyline speakers, so the sound isn't going to be brilliant anyway. Finally, I'm almost broke, so I reckon if one of these fits then it's a good short-term solution. I hope someone can help with installation advice. Cheers - Sven -
G'day. Please don't hate me, but because of financial constraints I'm thinking of putting a CD/cassette/radio out of a VX Commodore into my R33. I've been using an original R33 double DIN unit, but it has shat itself & I can't afford a decent deck. So, can anyone tell me if these units out of Holdens will fit easily into my R33? I hope someone with experience in these matters can advise me. Cheers - Sven

R33 sedan rear wing & tail light surrounds
sven laptop replied to sven laptop's topic in Wanted to Buy
Hi Gaffa & apologies for not noticing that the pic you posted was a 4-door. Unfortunately my brain was running on about 1 1/2 cylinders yesterday & my cranial turbo was malfunctioning badly... Still, it's all better now! To answer your question: yes, my car does have the brake light mounted in the bootlid, though I'm not sure whether it works. Can you give me an idea of how much a genuine spoiler would cost (second hand) from Japan, and also if you know what is involved in installing it. Finally, do you know if those dark tail-light surounds are available too? Thanks for your help.
