Its not hard to get the correct info yourself rather than take your choice of alot of the "my mate was told" or "the guy at the pits I went to said" conjecture that is in here. Go to the pits and ask for copies of half this stuff - I did. Or some of the straight forward stuff is on the dpi website. But yeah - every inspector will have different "let you off" levels - but if you want the technically correct info then get the written guidelines on them all. Like for wheel/tyre aspect ratios and width info: http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/1884.asp (eg rims no wider than 7" unless it was a factory option; rim OR tyres not to extend factory maximum track width by 25mm total (12.5mm each side); can go up two inches in RIM diametre but cant increase overall tyre diametre and still cant go wider than 7") For exhaust systems: http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/1885.asp (eg - theres no set dB limit - it is quoted as "The noise level of the modified system must not exceed the noise level of the manufacturer’s original system by a noticeable amount") Alternative steering wheels: http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/1886.asp (eg cant be smaller than 13") Suspension: http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/1889.asp (eg cant lower actual suspension more than 1/3 original bump-stop etc... but interestingly we dont have 10cm rule for accessories or spoiler lips etc which can go lower down to tyre profile width... "No part of a vehicle or accessories (except flexible mud flaps) shall project below the lower edge of a wheel rim") Bonnet scoops: http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/1913.asp (ie NO rearward openings allowed for vents - not even MESH like someone suggested) Again you can ask for the full spec sheets - which i did for bonnet vents and scanned showing measurements etc: Thats just the few on their website - they have loads of the more detailed info sheets you can request - I just walked into the pits and got copies. The only bit of "i heard from a pit guy" info I will add to the other conjecture in here is that when I got all the sheets about wheels/tyres, the guy a spoke to said while it was still strictly the 7" wide rule... this was one set of guidelines they were reviewing as there is recognition that expecting people to go from 17" to 19" (as allowed under the + 2 rule) but stay at 7" wide was ridiculous ... ever tried to find a 19x7 rim??!! But he didnt think it'd change soon even though it is being reviewed coz it just takes ages in govt depts to change anything.

Buyer's Guide - The Nissan C34 Stagea
Brazen replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
was just seeing all the threads on different gloveboxes - i just assumed they were all the same... and mine seems different again to all the other descriptions - mine opens from BOTH sides and is full depth for CDs etc... most other people whos open both sides seem to have posted that they are very shallow... weird so many different ones! And yeah - factory Xenons with height adjustment for the high beam, controlled by a thumb-wheel on the dash to raise or lower the pitch down the road. -
Just saw this one... maybe old news but i hadnt searched autotrader in a while - love it in black its at Brisbane Street Machines
-
yeah fergo... the market is definitely different in each state... as i said in one of the other threads about the cheap series 2's going over here in WA... there's just not a strong a market over here so the prices are low to get the sales - in qld they'll be a bit higher around mid 20 thous, and in NSW the price seems to be higher again going by the dealer ads there... however - without knowing the particularls of your car - even for a low km 2000 model $37,000 seems somewhat steep (seeings even a private sale 260RS can be had for mid to high 30s)... but hey - as i said a few posts above - if it was worth it to you then thats all that matters and u just move on with owning and loving it!
-
With series 2's prices at the moment - it seems to come down to kms, condition and features that will put them anywhere now from $20,000 to $28,000... so at $26,000 you are at the higher end... but if the kms are genuine (got complete sequentially dated service books??) and its in pefect nic with that bodykit thats an ok price - I might ave bargained it a tad cheaper - hey but if it was me and they wouldnt budge on price Id stil have been happy to pay $26,000 for that one you've got there - so dont worry about the cheaper prices going around and just get on with loving the car!... good luck with it - congrats!!
-
As for the post a few back about the Nismo kit for $3000 fitted and painted you scored - noticed not much feedback about your thoughts on the vented sideskirts- but if you havent already finalised it - I say KEEP them - I am actually a big fan of how that kit looks - good idea about opening the two side holes in the front bar - but leave the vetns - they wont look overdoen once you've opened up the front bar as well for a bit more of an aggressive stance - will look mad together - leave the vents in
-
OK dont be scared fellas about the prices - they are temporarily artificial due to the Perth "no market" for Stageas ... and talking it over down there at the yard Id imagine once Albert at Autowholesale offloads this shipment of Series 2's I think prices will go back to normal. These are going cheap because there is just hardly ANY market for Stageas over here (as I am finding)... you wont find Qld or other states dropping their prices to match as Id say Albert has just cut the bottom out to offload them - like he had to with the 260RS for only $39,900 remember - that sat in the yard for like over a year or something. Just coz hes got a white Series 2 for $19,990 doesnt mean the alarms will sound Australia wide... a good score for whoever nabs it no doubt - and the black one as well if that what you want (higher kms and overseas older engine mods)... but then it'll be back to normal - I wont be dropping my 63,000km that low in case thats what anyone is thinking lol - close to it - but not that low! I'll just 'ride out the competition' lol and find a buyer who wants a lower km mint condition example with alarm and rims etc etc etc for low 20s.
-
is your budget only under $20g or something as seems to be talked about coz it doesnt say it anywhere?? Coz my 63,000km series 2 is available for $23g ONO and already has a $750 alarm which you'd be up for from a yard and 18" rims... and yeah - price still negotiable. Would seem if you could squeeze an extra couple of grand out over what is being discussed above you could have my Series 2!! Only about $750 transport to Melbourne too Id reckon. Heres the thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=87843&hl= Cheers Adam
