Who Would Want A Stagea "parts For Sale"
Brazen replied to darrinspencer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hi Darrin - saw your shopping list for the way you're going about the front end conversion - just noticed in the for sale section (might have been in the WA for sale) a genuine front bar from a R34 GTR for like $400... was a bout a week ago - did you get it? -
It must be easy to wind back the stagea speedo...

I got no doubt mine were genuine when i bought it... 46,000kms on a 98 Series 2... why do i think that?.... not just that it has jap books with different jap service company stamps in an ordered progression of jap dates right up until around 9 months b4 I bought it (alowing time for sale, shipping, compliance) AND had a service sticker on it matching the last record in the book... but even moreso coz it was sold to me "no books - didnt come with any"... noone along the chain noticed them coz they were stuck up under the passenger seat (tucked up into the base of the seat not just on the floor). Plus the fact it was immaculate condition - no wear or poor condition at all anywhere Id suggest there a reall good chance lots of the Stageas would have comparably lower kms than other cars - coz like here they are probably the family transporter / quick tripper car at home with the missus... with another car assigned for the long km accruals of driving to work etc. I am sure lots ARE wound back that do have high kms and the wear to match - but not some of the low kms with books that also look the part - no point. I'd be more concerned about the ones that have around 90,000kms on them - more advantage winding a 140,000km car to 90,000kms than there is in winding a 70,000km car to 40,000. But yeah - gotta go by condition only if you dont have rock solid books with sequenced dates / stickers / stamps. -
awww but i love bitch fights spoilsport

Cool - come have a drive again any time I see what you mean with the GTST - lot easier to just trade-in at Autowholesale - but if u can sell it privately you'll come out way in front - good luck! Got your PM - let me knwo any specifics you wanna know that arent in the advert in the FOR SALE forums Adam

oh dear... "unobstructed" means it cant get through (any liquid escape) - so mesh doesnt apply - pretty straight forward that one. The OUT of the bonet is just showing you max heights etc for line of sight... it still applies for vents INTO the bonnet - cant face rearward. You'll also note I said "aftermarket" - some pre-new-car-handover ADR approvals have been given (eg Herrod). So no I dont see what u mean - pretty straight forward to me after spending ages down the Technical Division reading through the ADRs and other guideliens with the Technical Manager over here in WA.... and yeah - as said in previous threads - maybe different over east - but normally things are MORE restrictive over there thna here in teh West. Its all just whether you'll get picked up though as to taking the risk - up to you - same thing with replacement front and rear bumpers - not allowed technically (can only have lip spoilers) - but peopel sell full front and rear bumpers for lancers and all sorts of shit - technically illegal - but hey never seen a lancer yellowed for the ricey bumpers though.

PRICE DROP $23,000!!! -
the white one is very well priced, and the balck one is niiiice and more reasonably priced for a series 2. I think the guys talking about their 19k pricepoints arent talking series 2 matey - so dont confuse the poor guy fellas (unless im wrong and they arent series 1s). But I'll give you my yellow Series 2 for around the dollars of the white one - and u get it already with a $750 alarm, 18" wheels and only 63,000kms with log books - and no salesman margins. Call me for a drive - 0417 097 178 - more than happy to negotiate on price til you're happy. Adam

lol i gave u a definitive answer - you cant have aftermarket rearward facing vents - well they can be rearward facing but CANT HAVE AN OPENING if they face backwards (only for looks is ok). Here ya go: Ive got a copy of the bit from the ADRs and licensing technical guidelines that says it. Even with front facing vents there's a load of guidelines and restrictions. Heres the scan of the front facing vent requirements too: And line of sight in relation to vents:

Darren - thinking about this more - saw your wording "the panels alone add up to $2700"... that might be where your mistake lay - coz I remember the individual panels added up as you are doing was like TWICE the price Masa offered them as a "kit" for with the brackets etc. So I checked with Masa again - the Masa KIT price is tonnes less than adding up all the individual components and is as the price was stated above by Sidewize, and does include the brackets. So while you might be comiing to your own conclusions based upon 'calculations' - I can confirm that the front kit price including bracket pack is 134,400 yen from Masa. Cheers Brazen

not wanting to rain on anyones parade - but more a word of advice for Stagezilla in case u wrent aware ... noticed you're from WA and that you've posted b4 that while your Stag is a beast under the bonnet you wanted to keep cop attention away from it... well if you go aftermarket bonnet DO NOT GET REARWARD OPENING VENTS... openings MUST face frontwards in WA (like wrexxy scoops or forward facing slim vents). Any rearward facing bonnet opening is illegal and talking to the pit guys one of the ones the cops take very seriously and one of the most obvious mods for them to spot just driving by to stand out like a sore thumb and give justification for a full inspection and over the pits. I have a pic in my gallery of the photocopied guidelines for bonnet vents in WA if you wanna look. Other than that - Carbon Fibre bonnets also illegal BUT if painted then not exactly as "look I'm illegal Mr Policman" as having rearward facing vents - so if it were me I might take a chance on CF, but not on rearward opening vents in WA. Cheers

make money? lol at my price Ill be taking a 7 grand hit to the wallet within six months... interesting logic
-
He emailed me today... apparently now going for a WRX hatch... eww
-
Haven't ;ooked into it since then - obviouslu coz Im not doing it anymore - but when I enquired the "buy the whole kit" price was a damn site cheaper than the "all pannels added up" price you've arrived at. And when enquiring - if you bought the kit it included all the brackets etc... EVERYTHING pictured in the kit pic except lights for around $1000 extra. If its changed then ahh well - but Id say I got a lot further into it with several direct and seperate broker wenquiries made with Masa. But hey - Ive been wrong before

ANOTHER thread about these fronts lol?? I did a lot of pricing on these when I was gonna get my yellow one done - had a few brokers in Japan tee up quotes from Masa.... Heres a recap of some of the threads on this kit that exist already.... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=72625 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=73565 I was gonna go the Masa front end but Takelows side skirts and rear skirt... NICE COMBO! One of the SAU traders posted he could organise the Masa kit at a good rate... Sidewize Imports http://www.slidewizeimports.com MrZac from Sidewize quoted: Masa will include the headlights/indicator kit for around $1000. The front kit also includes the mounting brackets and other bits needed. So yeah - $3810 for the full front end including headlights, or $2810 if u have headlights. Then the Takelows sideskirt and rear lip (with carbon fibre air-dam / under-lip) to top it off http://s108.secure.ne.jp/~s108121/ssl/stag...ges/01_10_2.jpg (the "Vol III kit with carbon fibre rear air dam is the only one I like) Past thread on other bodykit options: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=51202 But yeah - theres lots of info in the older threads... SEARCH is your friend new Stag owners

yep thats about the going rate... you can certainly find bargains - but thats the normal asking price. My mate actually nabbed his bosses for $500 when he bought a 350Z and changed rims! I would think the others to keep an eye out for once they start coming in is the nice 18" rims off the V35 Skyline coupes... a few of the guys I've spoken to that are privately importing a V35 are changeing the rims and lowering the coupe as soon as they are complied - and they'd look nice on a Stagea I reckon.
-
Shit yeah buy mine! Thanks for the props guys by the way! I am trying to sell - but not desperate (yet) - havent even advertised it apart from on here and a sticker on the rear window lol.... probably whack in the trading post car mag next week. Finally found and bought a 1967 1/2 Fairlady Roadster I am having fun with... but need to get a soft-top before it becomes my daily driver - so the Stag still getting me around nicely But yeah - call me RDSA... I am sure we can agree to a price that will more than compensate for the $700 - $900 it'll cost to get it transported to South Australia. 0417 097 178 or email [email protected] Cheers fellas - hope your all treating your Stags well Adam

yep 350Z rims fit - straight bolt on

Stagea Options - What We Got And Didnt Get
Brazen replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Ummm - just to clarify seeings no-one picked it - the "net" in the first post isnt the cargo barrier repositioned - its an elastic storage net that attaches to the tailgate - to slip things in like ... well whatver - rug, books, etc... it just makes a big mesh elastic pocket for putting flattish things into -
Looks Like Its Going To Be An S2 For Me
Brazen replied to AMS's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Jesus just buy mine and save yourself thousands! Its just like the yellow one in the pic... check out my ad in the for sale section. Cheaper than u can import one and its already got 18" alloys, full ultrasonic alarm, CD deck, service hsitory low kms.... you can have it for $23,500!! Spose I should actually advertise this thing rather than rely on the forums - cant believe I'm selling it so cheap. And as for a couple of your qns... yes the S2 does have the GTT intercooler, all autos are tiptronic, the gear shift is pretty fast - and u get used to the timing to do it a split second before your desired rev change point. But yeah - seriously - get in touch and just pick mine up for great value! -
Yep see Anthony at Autowholesale he'll sort you out for your CPV35 needs... Ive driven the red one - VERY NICE... but its auto Good thing with these different to the R34 situation is they are going for pretty much the same at auction whether auto or manual. If you wanna import yourself - then a basic povo spec CPV35 (coupe), 2003 with higher kms (around 30 - 40,000kms) will set you back around 2 million yen if you can wait for the right price... which landed and complied and in your driveway is around $39,000 !! Not bad considering how much 350Zs still go for and you get the extra 2 kiddy seats The "Premium pack" which has BOSE stereo system and usually convertable Sat Nav / DVD and half-leather trim will cost you another few hundred thousand yen (still high kms), right through to a 2005 with 5,000kms or so where you're looking around $52,000 landed or more. But yeah that should at least give you a guide to a reasonable yard price... first lot will probably be stickered at $48k + ... but depending on kms and specification a few thou either side of that would be reasonable Id reckon... but hey - thats just my thinking based on auction prices and "landed quotes" from brokers. In my opinion the extra several thousand yard price for a warranty, after sales support, and BEFORE sales fixing of any surprises is well worth the difference. Last time I asked, Autowholesale also said they'd be happy to find the right car for serious buyers with a deposit down - so ask where that is at the moment (not really brokering - still pay yard price with warranty and after-sales support etc - but at least get colour and specification level you're happy with). And just so you know just about everything underbody is interchangeable with 350Z stuff - so you can grab an HKS 350Z exhaust or some coilovers etc and pretty much bolt it right on Interestingly the blue one at Downunder in Leederville is gone - in fact the whole YARD IS GONE! Anyone know if they moved or closed shop?? For anyone thinking 4 door - the model you want to look for is the top of the line V35 350GT-8... 8 speed tiptronic (yes EIGHT speed - world first) VERY TIGHT RATIOS and rapid low end shift changes and PADDLE shift not button shift - same box in the new GTR i read - sposed to be very quick off the mark with the 8 speed and still with the 3.5 litre - pity bout the extra weight of the 4 door though. But these are about 75% the cost of the CPV35 at auction on average - so a nice alternate option with someone with only $34,000 or so to spend.

V35 Coupe Kicking Some Butt
Brazen replied to silver gts-t's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I assume you mean the Jap spec of the VQ35 engine, as there is no australian delivered 'version' of the V25 Skyline - only Jap spec imports. But as for the engine comparison between Jap spec (in the V35 and Fairlady Z) versus aus spec engine in the 350Z... yeah Ive heard that its a slightly better spec output than the 350Z. -
Cheers mate! Let everyone you can know man - I'll consider any decent offer!

Buying A Stagea - What Should I Look Out For?
Brazen replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Cheers mate... its proving a bastard to sell though - Stagea market just non existent in WA Id seriously consider just about any reasonable offer at the moment... driver - whats your budget? make me an offer! I cant work out why people looking for a Stagea arent even enquiring about a low kms Series 2 with mags for under $24,000 -
