Hi all, my R32 arrived at my door yesterday, and I'm struggling to find an engineer to comply my car. I've found one, but would really rather someone refer me to one that I know does a good job. The only one I've found so far is a guy called Steve in Knox. Over the phone he quoted me: $1100 - Drivers mirror - Fuel filler restrictor - dash light dimmer - side intrusion bars (coupe) - Rear high level brake light - new CAT - and of course certificate - all done in 5 working days *First of all is this reasonable pricing? *Secondly is there any other engineers you guys can recommend (preferably East of Melbourne), and what on average are their prices? This info would be really helpful for alot of people in Vic who'll be getting their 15 year old cars shortly...

is it in standard form? have you changed anything recently? Like any recent maintenance or mods? I'm not sure about the clutch being a problem. When mine went I could really feel it was slipping. ie. revving and the car going nowhere. May be something to do with boost problems, and you say it only happens sometimes... Really need more background for some of us to help

OK heres my story..... Car has landed, cleared customs in Brisbane and is ready to be trucked to Melbourne. I got a call from my broker this morning saying my Import Approval certificate doesn't match my chassis no. - DOTARS stuffed up my certificate and added an extra zero to the chassis no. This means I start getting charged a holding fee until I get a new certificate mailed out to me. I also have to send my original back to them before they issue me another one! The bastards will take atleast a week I know it..

My r32 just arrived in Brisbane on Sunday with kiwi and will be trucked to Melbourne. My broker said it goes through customs or whatever in Brisbane of course, and that will be between 3-7 days. The good thing is that it will be delivered directly to my door! Very handy as I had a knee reco a couple of days ago... cheers, Ben

I think it would be really helpful if someone could organise a list of compliance centres in all the major cities. I feel like there's hardly any choice because there is not enough info around... (15 yr old vehicles)

If there was water in your fuel tank you wouldn't be able to smell it. It would sit at the very bottom of your tank which in turn will be sucked by your fuel pump. This means your engine would stop before anyone could even drive it off the boat. i.e. if it actually runs you don't have water in the tank. The different fuel smell could be that the fuel is fairly old and has lost a little potency. Your fuel filler cap may not have sealed properly and fumes have been leaking for weeks/months. Not sure on that but that's my guess...

I've got a 32gtst coming to aus next month with 32gtr wheels. 2 of the wheels have been painted black though so I was thinking of selling them and buying my own rims. Or if not, just stripping them back. They wouldn't be worth much as they are I don't think?
