  1. haha, i shouldn't have posted this in this thread, oh well! The problem i'm having you see is that my oil drain isn't directly at the bottom of the turbo which causes more headaches with the angle that it is on, i have already chopped it shorter as i used the xr6t oil drain with a new tube welded on. Because of the angle the hose has to bend into an 's' shape which just crimps it and only the cheap shit i have seems to wanna bend without crimping!
  2. i don't know him but thought someone would!
  3. sweet, have to make sure everyone entered in SCS has one on there car!
  4. haha, better not do a group buy now that i've had mine done, or maybe i can get my gearknob done cheaper with the group buy, hehe! If you guys are serious though i can ask the bloke as he was a top guy and took a lot of pride in his work. Joel - Its not grey, definitely black, think it was just the flash of the camera that makes it look like that! I'll probably pop up on the sunday and let you have a squiz @ the wheel and maybe play with my power fc if you have time. Thats if i get that oil hose on, i got the old one off but the new bit of hose i got from you is too stiff and won't go on cause of the stupid angle i have my oil drain on! argh:(
  5. now that i have the gear boot, handbrake boot and steering wheel done i guess i better do the gearknob as it just doesn't look right in the pics with it not done!
  6. ended up getting it done here Automotive Trim & Upholstery Contractors Pty Ltd Beverley 46 Wodonga St 5009 (08) 8243 1890 (08) 8243 1383 [email protected] www.atuc.com.au as oosh suggested, they do the wheels for cartoys anyway as it turns out and i'm happy with their work! Cost me $200 and they said they can do my gearknob also for $40 which i thought was pretty good but of course there's no 'h' pattern but thats no biggie!
  7. ok, i'll c if i can get some pics of this!
  8. someone could maybe ask mike from nissansilvia.com??? he's always keen to take photos of sporting eventes and the work i've seen he does is top notch!
  9. don't you guys think we should all get the same style of shirts?
  10. ye i know but the diff is supposed to be a 1.5 way according to the seller. anyway of telling from looking at the pics?
  11. hope your putting the drift tek's on for small car sunday!
  12. sounds good!
  13. look good pat, i'd definitely be down for a shirt, will think about a hat also. Will be good if everyone entering SCS could have atleast a shirt, great way to promote our club!
  14. ok, this seems to be the consensus from most people which is a good thing, just wierd that in the 2 years i've had the car its only just started doing it!
  15. mmmm, i've smelt the substance though thats coming from the cat converter and it definitely smells like oil. The other couple of things i forgot to mention was that i'd recently taken my BOV off (can't see how this would effect it though) so that i have nothing and I never get oil in my catch can, Its one of them cheap ones that have nothing in them and just a couple of holes with a filter on top if that makes a difference. I also took my piping from the throttle to turbo off and there's no traces of oil in them! On a side note i also get oil leaking from between the gearbox and motor, would that be the rear main seal thats gone?
  16. hey guys, the last couple of times i've started my car up its spat oil out the exhaust and left crap all over my driveway. (doesn't happen everytime though) Now the turbo is only approximately 5000kms old and doesn't smoke at all when i drive so i'm presuming/hoping its not the turbo. (could be better than the motor though) I finally had time to hop under the car yesterday and it appears to have oil drops over/under the cat converter so it look to be getting a bit of oil into the exhaust. The motor is approximately 4000kms old and is a RB30DET, the only other thing i could think of was that it was possibly compression or something related but the car still feels great. The things i have done recently to the car is spark plugs, cam gears and played around with my catch can, the only thing out of them 3 that i thought could cause this oil problem would be the catch can but i don't know what i could've done to cause it? Any ideas on what it is would be much appreciated!
  17. try vigil, i'm with just cars at the moment but when my policy runs out in december i'll either be trying them or Shannon's. Shannon's will only touch you though if you hardly drive your car and are a car club member etc.
  18. i'll grab one too if it the one like howie suggested. what $$$ we talking?
  19. great idea, how about it joel?
  20. once again guys thanks for all your help, knew i could count on SAU. Will give them a call on monday! Just installed my gear and hand brake boot for the group buy on this forum and thats now looking top notch. Now i just have to get the steering wheel done and work out what to do with the gear knob and the interior will actually look half decent for SCS!
  21. ok, so i've got them round the right way then!
  22. think u might be pushing it to find a nice series 2 for that.
  23. as the topic says i want to get my stock steering wheel re-leathered aswell as my gearknob as i like the stock items and keeps the police away. I've got prices from cartoys - $200 and Wilshire's - $260. (for the steering wheel alone) Just wondering if any of you out there knew of anywhere else i could get a price from as i thought $150 was more around the mark. cheers!
