  1. IMO the best mags out now are Zoom & HPI....i subscribe to both drift battle can sometimes be good too...
  2. do you know what kind of lap times they did at wakefield or 1/4 mile times? i can imagine they should be quick
  3. nope no cam gears, but i agree its interesting how much it all falls away after 160km/h...do you think cam gears would make up the difference by that much? i would love to have the power stable towards the redline like you do But in order to put all speculation to rest....you have to run your setup on DrDrifts dyno....so we can then overlay the power curves on one page ...i'm sure Sam would be keen to see the results too, as so far my GTRS produced the biggest numbers on his dyno for an RB20....so its up to you to break the record
  4. ^^^^^ agreed
  5. hey Ben thanks for sharing that vid
  6. yeah, that would confirm what cubes said, so that explains where most of the lag came from
  7. hey cubes, i have no idea about the correction values on this dyno, maybe because the ambient temperatures between the 2 runs were quite different it compensates for it? as you can see on the chart, that the old turbo run was done on the 3rd Feb so it was a while back...
  8. Hey Dale, your right, the difference is even more noticable when driving, I think full boost is reached about 4100rpm in 4th gear the R34 housing is visibly bigger than the HKS exhaust housing. If the HKS exhaust housing is .64 then what is the R34 one? In summary: Definitely money well spent Hey dude, the rpm on the graph was not calibrated so don't go by that, the KM/h are accurate though. So power drops off more like 6400rpm, and i think thats because of the stock cams....maybe someone else can add to this....?
  9. ok people, here it is a HKS GTRS on a RB20 - 215rwkw using 18psi. i have put the dyno graph in the Rb20 dyno results thread with all my mods...but here it is anyway: The blue line is my old R34 GTT highflow turbo, was pretty laggy in comparison...now the difference in response is huge, i now have a 50% increase in power at 110kmh All comments are welcome!
  10. HKS GTRS on RB20 in R32 GTS4. 215rwkw at 18psi. Mods are the usual: HKS GTRS HKS Type-S intercooler Z32 airflow meter Nismo 555cc injectors Full 3" exhaust K&N pod Dr Drift remapped stock ecu Bosch 040 fuel pump Dr Drift boost controller BTW: BP ultimate is way better than Optimax! The dyno chart shows the difference in response compared to my old R34 GTT highflow. You can see at 110kmh I now have 50rwkw more than before, which is an amazing difference in drivability on the street
  11. From the album: Interloper's Gallery

    HKS GTRS vs R34GTT highflow
  12. ^^^ why did you get 20 bottles???? oil additives are no good. Just use a oil like castrol edge 10w-60 and you'll be sweet. ps- take the 20 bottles back to the shop for a refund
  13. i have to agree with you on this one
  14. good to hear it all back together now. Which radiator did you get from justjap - the one for $399? i'm thinking about buying one of those - do you have any pics of it installed? and what do you think about the build quality & welds...
  15. hey dude, thanks for sharing the story Its always interesting to hear peoples experiences, at least it informs people about the possibility of dodgy staff there....and to be wary if they have any problems later on...
  16. would be interesting to see how your set up goes on this dyno...there should be a dyno day at DrDrifts in a few months time......time for a few myths to be busted
  17. the stock bov will be fine. I get exactly the same noise on sudden liftoff with my stock RB20 bov. It doesn't leak boost so its sweet OMG cubes, thats some dodgy backyard work! ......now be honset and admit that its your other car
  18. have you got a dyno sheet? be interesting to see the midrange power....is yours the .64 or .86 exhaust housing?
  19. not sure how much drivetrain loss there is as it was run in rwd...i read somewhere that drivetrain loss is about 17% so that would make it 252kw at the flywheel? the cheapest prices on GTRS kits are on ns.com and nengun.com...
  20. ok, got the car tuned today. dyno sheets will be up soon/tomorrow. using 18psi made 215rwkw on DrDrifts dyno, with heaps of midrange power....which was my main goal of going from a laggy RB25 highflow to the smaller GTRS. i haven't checked yet when i get full boost by, i'll check tomorrow.... i'm sure most people will say "thats too low power" but considering that a RB20 with cams and a HKS 2535 made only 190rwkw on the same dyno recently.....should be enough to appease critics.
  21. yeah, i agree that this feature was pretty usefull...
  22. fark i hate the people who slow down to merge....cos i'm always behind them expecting to speed up and then suddenly having to almost stop to avoid rear ending them
  23. ^^^ yup I always use genuine nissan filters, for $9 you can't beat that!

    Guards Rolled

my paint cracked. But its obvious that it will happen, i mean bending the inside lip up involves a 90 degree angle change for the steel& paint...paint is usually not that flexible.... i just used a little touchup paint over the cracks and where my shitty paint flaked off, you can't see it unless your looking up at the guards...so basically no visual change...
  25. yeah they always lie about that. just to cover their arse, but its so obvious it all b.s...
