Just saw a nice 32 in Geelong on Malop street at about 11:30am on sat morning. Description is vague but; its 4 sale on the back window Gunmetal grey N1 style exhaust (soundz sweet) wee spotlights on the front............ anyway, just wondering if its anyone on these forums?? I've seen a few 32's in geelong recently, a burgundy 1, dark blue 1, couple black 1's. I reckon we should organise a meet some time:)

Gearbox Oil Capacity R32
Interloper replied to MM2death's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
R32 GTS-4 gearbox has 4.5 litres, i had it changed a month ago... -
damn, thats gotta be 1 of the phattest 32's I've seen! (the white 1)
-
I didn't think you could get Power FC's for the RB20. Only the r32 gtr.
-
lol, would you believe that my GTS-4 is also burgundy!!! what a hard case to find another 32, same colour, running an LT-8... BTW- do you have a hand controller for it? and did you use it for tuning or a laptop?
-
hey sik32, I'm too am running a LT-8 on my recently purchased GTS-4. Just wondering how you find the driveability of it in your RB20? How's the economy if your just cruising along in 5th gear? I don't think they have closed-loop cruise mode. So they don't use the oxy sensor, do they? What about initial start-up? I know the LT-8 doesn't use the idle stepper valve. (the thing on the end of the plenum) So do you have some sort of air by-pass valve to compensate for the greater amount of fuel at start-up? I'm just asking cos I find that mine never starts cleanly especially after I haven't driven it for a day or so. Sometimes it even seems like it wants to stall itself cos of the lack of air (revs drop below 500) As far as the economy on my car, it pretty bad considering that I hardly ever boost it around town. and I spend alot of time cruising in 5th gear. something like 350km to a tank:( I haven't had a chance to dyno it yet but hopefully will in a few weeks. anything you can enlighten me on?

Interloper replied to meggala's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
hey meggala, did u bring in the cefiro under the "over 15 year old" rule? I'm guessing if u did, it probably was fairly cheap with no tax.. BTW- is that a r32 drivers seat? nice car either way -

lol, yeah i should've Bloody potholes, on the way back my exhaust scrapped twice going over them:( not the tip but the last bend in the system before the muffler. who was that grey 33 following me? did you see any sparks flying as I bottomed out?
-
Hey nark, was that your wheel arch trim? Damn near hit the thing at 120:D yeah, i could tell your gf was holding you back on the staights comin' back:) overall the cruise wasn't too bad, just that I wasn't gonna drive too hard on the way up there, seein' as i've only had the car for a few weeks. Still need to go on one of 'em advanced driving courses;)
-
So........how many cars can we expect to turn up at the botanical gardens? Start with me.
-
Are you guy's expecting any non Skyline owners turning up at Geelong, like /shiver/ commonwhores? It's just that at my mates work yesterday, apparently a few non-skyliners mentioned the GOR cruise and were thinking about coming along. Also mentioned that last time SAU came to Geelong (news to me) there was some pretty loose driving happening, so these people might be turning up expecting the same? Just news along the grape vine, or a bad case of chinese whispers:) Oh and for a better map of where we should meet up at the gardens, pm me with your email address.

I might have the same problem... Sometimes my right headlight starts working about 2 seconds after I turn it on, but my left 1 is sweet. Could be dirty contacts.... No probs with high beam though.
-
I was thinking about doin' this too, but with a R32 GTR bar for my GTS4. Cos I need room for a intercooler but the standard one on now doesn't have a intake hole big enough for a core size around 600x300x80. Besides the bar isn't very well attatched, quite flimsy I might say.

here's a map...or at least a link to it... http://www.street-directory.com.au/victori...2&level=5&star=

Sweet, finally I get to meet you guy's! Just got my GTS-4 2 weeks ago, needs a few things done to it but will definitely go to this cruise:) Can I suggest a meeting place? Geelong waterfront botanical gardens, on the top carpark facing Corio Bay. It's a good place to take a few pics too:D

Hot Gearbox on R32 GTS-4
Interloper replied to Interloper's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
So... is there anyone else out there who could comment on just how hot their box gets? Even just to say that the heat given off isn't noticable or that the console surround doesn't even get warm after driving around for over an hour. I've driven a few commonwhores around and I never start to feel the gear stick or anything else get remotely warm( including after a bit of thrashing) -
Hot Gearbox on R32 GTS-4
Interloper replied to Interloper's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
dude, I don't mean warm. I mean Very Hot. So you think the plastic console around the gearstick is supposed to get hot? I had the transfer case oil changed aswell, but I don't think it makes any difference -
Just last week I got my first skyline a 1990 R32 GTS-4, and I have noticed that after driving around for about an hour the gearbox gets very hot. I can feel the heat coming up the steel gearstick, the plastic console surround and underneath the gearstick boot. This being the first GTS-4 that I have driven, I can't say if this is really a problem or not. All the mechanics I talked to suggested a bearing failure but the gearbox isn't noisy so it can't be that... I had the gearbox oil changed to mobil synthetic, but it hasn't helped at all (exept for lightening my wallet). I have taken off the gearstick boot, so while driving around I can feel the heat coming off the floor area. So my question is directed at all GTS-4 owners. Do you experience the same problem or is it normal for the 4wd gearbox to get so hot? I don't think the transfer case has anything to to with it, cos I've been driving really gently around town and on the highway.
