I thought the AAC was just to kick high-idle when using Air Conditioning. If you look near the throttle bodies you'll notice some small set screws for the butterflies off the throttle linkage. You can adjust those but be sure to do them evenly across both where the throttle linkage is.

Haha! I'm sure you could rig that up, but no just a square "locker" type area.

Guess what boys 'n girls? Went to Costco today and found this. $158 for 150 pc kit imperial & metric. 1/2 & 3/8 ratchets with lotsa sockets. Spanners are pretty rubbish to be honest, but still worth it for to socket set IMO. I also picket up this little 1/4 drive set for $30 cause it was so cute I couldn't resist. Really wish I could have bought this but no money and no space.

I just need to point out that boost isn't what kills motors. So lower boost doesn't mean it will last longer. Yes, it will reduce the potential for knock, but that's pretty much all. Boost is a figure that combines the air volume being "pushed" and the amount of restriction (generally caused by the hot side of the turbo). So it is better to think of it as a power efficiency scale than directly a power scale. That's a major factor why you see so many differing power levels at say 18 PSI. Now power is power, and power means forces at play on the internals of your motor. There are a number of 400kw cars running around on stock internals. But if you speak honestly to any of the owners they are generally know they will have to rebuild the bottom end at some point and have accepted it. If you want a reliable and dependable car then stick with 300kw on 98 or around 340kw on e85. It's proven that a stock bottom end can take that level and survive a pretty long time. So I agree with Piggaz that you should be looking at -9 or -5 turbos. -7's and -10's aren't as efficient so there will be trade off. If you go -5 you have the option to add the supporting mods and go for 400 on e85 but will be pushing a lot of boost and need big injectors etc. -9's on e85 gets you efficiently to say 340kw. Pushing above that level you can take your chances. Just want to make sure you understand that. The problem with forums is that it is too easy to read about someone's build and it seems easy to make power. There is no "easy" about it. And the cost curve isn't linear - you can't just do another $5k upgrade and hit a power level. It all has to balance out. (long post, but hope you find it helpful)

Nice Ciaron, so I guess your eye's were opened to the world of down town after the first aid class? hehe.

Not our rule. We love gate. Find us a new cheap locale to hold it and we will -
Craftsman in US has moved some stuff to China but they also have some nice new stuff. I picked up these when I went back earlier last year and love em.

Awe yeah, nice work Tez! Back of the line to the rest of ya! haha! We also need some volunteers to help with timing. In return we will give you a sporting high vis vest and the best seat in the house. -
If you record them yourself do NOT try to do the set up from the unit. I've never gotten that to work. Bring a laptop and record the data of the session as straight GPS data record (e.g. do not select circuit). Import in the QRacing set up the track and then load it back into the unit. That's the only way I've been able to set up tracks. To properly set up a track you have to drive across the start/finish slowly and you just can't do that unless you have the track to yourself.

R32/33 Gtr Or Evo 5/6/7 As A Track Car.

By a whopping 0.08 seconds before my wheel bearing gave out. Imagine the time I'd had if I didn't have a wobbly front tyre (lol) -
R32/33 Gtr Or Evo 5/6/7 As A Track Car.
Pezhead replied to JETGTR's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I'll chuck my 2cents in here as well. I've never driven an Evo on the track but have had my fair share of club track days. If you can pick your track and your goal as a driver too, that will help you decide. Driving any car on it's limit, Evo or GTR isn't that easy and will take some time. Don't expect to just go out and do fantastic times, enjoy the learning experience and set realistic goals. Do you enjoy tigher technical driving or bigger open flowing tracks? It's a lot harder than you might think, and just picking a car won't get you the times if that is what you're after. Seat time and hard analysis of your driving will teach you that. I think 250kw GTR or 200kw EVO is a good starting point. Plenty of power to learn to drive well and lay down decent times. I personally enjoy the rawness of the GTR and the fact that it makes you drive. I know a lot of people say 4wd is a cheater car, but it WILL bite you until you learn to drive the GTR. Because it is only "full" 4wd when the rear wheels are spinning faster than front, it will not help you recover from an extreme tail out situation unless you are aggressively staying in it. And that's a lot harder to do in that split second reaction than you think. It took me a good 4-5 track days over two years to retrain my reactions. If you lift in that situation you get no advantage to the fronts, weight transfer to the front unloads the rear tyres for even less traction and you come spinning around. That's what makes the GTR so fun to drive on the track. I'm sure I'd go faster if I wasn't so aggressive, but aggressive driving is FUN! I mean look at all the car review guys like Chris Harris and Jeremy C. Track driving is as much about fun as it is about times. An EVO on the other hand being full time AWD is going to punish you for being aggressive. The F/R bias is all controlled and trying to keep the car in traction and avoid the tail out situation. For that you are rewarded with more grip and therefore theoretically better times. I say theoretical because experience counts more than the car. Plain and simple. At our SMSP South Day, I honestly expected the EVO's to have the advantage on the smaller tighter track. But the top 3 cars (I was third fastest) were all GTR's. Hope that gives you some more to think on. -
If you decide to order Tomei cams. Check RHD. I got mine on special there and I see they are still pretty discounted.

I've been really lame in posting here lately. Sorry folks. Took this while working on the car today. Thought it turned our really well for just a quick snap when I saw the "skull".

Huge thanks to Ian, Craig and Terry for organizing. There's so much opinion about rims and it was great to get the goods and insights from professionals.
