S A U - N S W Dyno Day! 8Th Dec @ Unigroup Windsor
Pezhead replied to Pezhead's topic in Events Archive
Join the club Mark. As supportive as Deb is she's having a hard time that it didn't even survive one weekend after going back together. Maybe we should start an SAU "Watch" list so people check up on us to make sure we don't "disappear". hehe. -
Got mine at Costco. Bag of 36 was like $25 I think.

This was in the works over the last two months while I've been doing the upgrade on my GTR.

Nick mentioned to me that we should also have a kids gift exchange. I think that is a fantastic idea! If you are going to bring your kids, please bring a gift for the exchange. We'll keep the rules the same $20 and family friendly. We'll do the kids gift exchange before the adults.

Looking To Borrow Wheels / Tyres To Take My R34 Gtr To Wsid
Pezhead replied to nomnomv8's topic in New South Wales
If you can't fry the tyres then doubt you'll get a 10. Also getting a good launch takes a bit more than you might think. Just take your street tyres and run them down to about 28psi. A 300kw car with an ok launch will run high 11's to low 12's. With a fantastic launch, which takes longer than you might think to muster, 300kw will get you to low-mid 11's. Caveat emptor of course is that torque and area of the power curve is what really affects the variance in times at the same power levels. Turn your boost controller down and make a few runs. If you are getting 60 ft times of 1.6 or better then you're ready to turn it up. -
Ready for our end of year social get together? It's SAU Sunday Picnic in the Park! Where: Tench Reserve, Penrith When: Sunday 16th Dec 11 AM to 3 PM What's on: Plenty of BBQ's so BYO picnic lunch. Bring your park gear, balls, frisby etc. SAU will provide some cake for all to share. Want to participate in our gift exchange? Real simple. Bring a gift ($20 max) and we will draw numbers to exchange at 1:30 PM. Please keep the gifts "family friendly" Chat, take photos of the cars and just chill out for a nice relaxing day. [EDIT] If you are bringing your family be sure to bring a gift exchange for each of your kids. We'll have the same rules as adults $20 max and family friendly. That way we make sure that kids get gifts too and don't feel left out.

Piglet's Rebuild Of His Busted Tomei 2.8

Naw wouldn't go that route either. I have a 500R on my 'mini-me' version of Paul's and mine has break-down once it's hot. Hard to nail this one down. Just not sure how to get a hotter spark with lots of amps to make it fire reliably. Was good to see you lay a decent time there Paul. I'm spewing a bit cause I had to drop out of play so soon. Might have been able to give you at least a little run on times. -
Thanks for this Ray. I was meaning to post up a thread in our section and just haven't gotten around to it. Hats off to Ash and Steve for all their long hours and dedication putting this together. They were the core duo that got the venues, sponsors and financial logistics sorted. I think everyone will agree that it's a premium event from start to finish. I'm proud to be a part of it. SteveO spent two crazy days as course marshal and burnt to a crisp! What a legend! NSW handled the Wakie and Aiport event logistics for sign on, tech and conducting the day. Big thanks to Sean & Josh for assisting on tech inspection. Luke, Tats and Andrew for sign-on and general help all round at wakie and airport as well as our merch stand on Sunday. And of course thanks to Nick for making the trek to bring us the jackets cause we nearly sold out on the first day. Huge thanks to SAU Vic for managing the show-n-shine. Again, was such a professional gig. Most know I had my own dramas going on but was so great seeing the club atmosphere in its element. Lots of people helping each other, people borrowing tools or parts to keep running and lots of smiles and great people. And when you look at the times from the top 1/3 of the entrants, well truly impressive! I was doing 1:11 which is normally top 1/3 but I think I was only about the mid way point! And of course we were still also open and accomodating for all the first timers too. Our club is so great for that! Cheers to all that came to participate and/or watch.

Shit! Down to the wire for all of us. It does sound like timing/spark if you have fuel. Old school used to just be the distributor was 180 degress out but your crank trigger should have it all down to a science. Mine did fire right up right away just one turbo decided it didn't want to spin - so coming back off now. Oh, but I do owe you some credit there Paul. Some of my plug wires fell off and I wasn't sure on the mapping of the dual fire coils to the firing order. Luckily I had taken a snap shot of the ones you lent me for reference. Good luck piggy! -
Excellent stuff! I'll work out how to pick them up from the blue mtn's and get them to your place. PM me your contact details and I'll we'll make a plan!
-
Guy's wrong thread here. Skyline Nationals are run by the classic skyline group, SAU Nationals are SAU. Bob, PM Ash (R31Nismoid) re your registration. You should have gotten a confirmation email.
-
Ok folks, so we need to get some equipment down and back to the nationals. Big items are our cabanas & fire extinguishers. NytDave can you spare the room for them? You're there all weekend, yeah? If you can't take them, then DIF could we stash them in your rig?
-
Russel, This would be great! We also have a dyno day coming up where we need a BBQ. Maybe we can just borrow someones ute or trailer to get it to both locations.

Mine fired up in the garage last night. Bleed the 4wd, change of rims and few vac line tidies and I'm ready for a tune. Paul, get your beast out of Unigroup so they can tune mine! -
Mark, where do you get that clear adhesive stuff?
-
I'll have to do some inventory and check. Might take you up on it. I've fit 4 tyres in the back seat before but the new ones are 295 wide
-
I'll be leaving straight from work around 3PM on Thurs. Trying to decide if I haul all my camera gear, plus track indicentals and rims/tyres (new semis are soft compound so why wear them down on the drive).
-
Don't want to sound like a kill joy, but if you can't afford $50 for a dyno run I doubt you're going to plonk down a few hundred on a tune. But we will be speaking to Todd to see if he wants some help moving and perhaps SAU worker bee.
