Well, my dupes are actually more like triplet or quad (and not great - like Terry's friend's Cheap plastic case set). Just let me know cause I think I have the majority of a 3/8 socket set - at least the ones you need. No problem at all, just taking up space cause I refuse to throw them away.

Really too bad about that. God I hate scum that do this. It's really crap that we work so hard for some low life to come along and cheat you. Sorry for your loss. Are there any bits you really urgently need? I might be able to look in my collection to see where I have duplicates. Noth'n special - crap really but might get you by.

Pair & Single R34 Gtr Rims & Actuators
Pezhead replied to Pezhead's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Update and pics: This is the pair of rims. They have a few scratches in the paint and a coating of brake dust. They will come with the centre caps. One has a long but minor rash mark as in photo. Next I found that one of the actuators is actually not working properly. Probably a bad diaphram. So price up date - one, one bar actuator $75. -

Looks like the Single rim is sold. Actuators and the Pair are still available. I'm sure someone wants a pair of skid rims that match your existing one. -

Saunsw Official Social Cruise Nasho Park Sun 30 Sep 2012

Sean, so glad your back. You rock! -
Check Skyline Spares (think they are west near Penrith cause Aggro is always stopping there to get stuff for me).

The club does insurance through AASA and CAMS. This is why ONLY official SAU:NSW events have public liability and thus can be called official SAU events. Meeting the insurance requirements depends on the event type and how it is run. We know these organisations well and have established our credibility with them over the years. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that you folks don't see.

The point battle discussion has spawned another thread in the members only area. Leave that idea for now or, if you're a member, head over there and share your idea. I really like where it is going but we're going to keep it a member secret for now until we figure out what we're going to do. Keep the ideas flowing folks, some productive discussion going on now.

Bobby, I get what you're at there. But that's why we're not filling the days. If members can't afford a few hundred bucks to go racing than racing is not really a practical hobby for them. No offence meant, but it simply is expensive. It is so hard to keep track of the financials for a track day already. Unless we could have some kind of really good automation, it would be a logistical problem. As you put it - it is up to our members. As exec's we're doing our best to run as much as we can with a very short staff. We have a GM this week so I'm sure lots of what's come up in here will be discussed. But the problem is always two things: Member commitment for the events and reliable volunteers to make it happen. I haven't received a single PM since my offer. I'm still open to new ideas and stuff but I need hands and feet to run them, and a tight look at what it takes financially. Keep the productive discussion going, I'm not saying no to anything just practicalities of running the club.

I have to point out that on our events it is pay in full or your spot isn't reserved. Always been the way we run things. Also, unless the event is full the fee is non-refundable. We do our best to look out for regulars but it is just too difficult with people popping all over the place. I've personally paid for and missed several events. It is part of supporting your local motorsport. And since SAU does it so cheap for it's members I have no reservations about that at all.

Ec GP was like 16k last time we checked and very hard to get in. So at double what Wakefield costs just too much if people aren't coming in numbers. I'd love it too but not financially smart where we are at right now.

The idea actually gave me a spark along with something that Chris was discussing over in the whore thread. What if we got a few guys to go in share/club lease payment and get 1 or 3 Hyunai excels? Now before you go all "what the hell?" on me. There is a concept racing class in other states using the excel as a benchmark. You can't do too many things to them, but that keeps costs low. They we could bring them to Texi's and have some friendly "Star in a Resonably Priced Car" with a leaderboard. Also if we have a couple of them then bring them to a track day using GPS timers for time battle style stuff. Or find out if the class is run in NSW and get into that with multiple drivers. Now, really, the cost of getting them there etc. means it is going to be a few 100 out of pocket for this type of racing. But maybe we could also challenge some other clubs with the same rules. Normal maintenance would need to be sorted, etc. etc. Lots of logistics to sort. This is all - Brainstorming/thinking out loud so just saying got me thinking.

So I Spun Out Again - Wtf Is Going On?
Pezhead replied to tripsteady's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I run KU36's but because I don't drive the GTR that much in the rain. You're better off for a KU31 as a street tyre. KU36's are really designed to be a high performance street which means it will be better in the dry than wet. The KU31 is more all rounder. Also the NSW club get's federal 959ss and RS-R's for bloody cheap on our member price. You'd probably save the membership fee on a full set with change to spare. -
Up for sale (because I mangled one rim). Want some matching skidz rims? or a matching spare? 1 - SINGLE! R34 GTR Rim, has a bit of rash $300 2 - PAIR of R34 GTR Rims, will pick the best two but still a bit of rash $650 for the pair Also for sale one pair of Garret one bar Actuator. Fairly new condition (came on some turbos I bought that were surplus to my needs). $100. $75. Stuff is in the garage so can post pictures on request, just CBF at the moment cause I'm deep into some maintenance on the car.

Bring it to Texi & we'll set up all the Emo vs Riceline battles you can handle!

I'm really keen on this! Being an hack machinist myself I love being around the guys the actually do it for a living. Can't wait for this one.

Ok, so I'll check in here OFFICIALLY AS PREZ about a few items. #1, The club execs are responsible to ensure we handle the affairs of the club responsibly. Meaning, we have to make sure that we make break-even financially to ensure to long term future for the club. While we all want to do events as a club, they cost money - big money! Track/skidpan hire, insurance, timing all cost a lot of money. When I stepped in over a year ago our track days were running at a loss. We simply cannot afford to do that. We've tried working with other clubs and that didn't really work either. And the fact of the matter is that there are plenty of opportunities if you want a track day. So we decided to just run one this year in addition to the nationals. Even at that the March track day was run at a bit of a loss due to numbers, and we discounted it below cost. We simply haven't had the numbers to enable us to run more. I would love to, but the fact is that if we can't fill one track day we'll lose our shirt if we try to do more. So if you want more track days, come to the ones we do hold so that they are full and will increase the number of days we do per year. On the topic of what day, well we can't please everyone unfortuantely. The nationals track event is going to be on a friday to keep costs low. Our others we try to run on weekends. Again, we simply can't please everyone cause there will always be those that can't arrange the time off. I'm not trying to throw this in anyone's face, just the facts. We do publish our calendar as soon as we have the dates so that you have a lot of lead time to request the time off. #2 - Did you know how many people actually put together these events? In all honesty the majority of the work is done by no more than 3 or 4 people. There are others that help, but most of it falls on the same few time in time out. I love some of the ideas going on here in the thread but we simply don't have enough helpers to do everything that the exec's have already set out to do at the beginning of the year. We all have jobs and family commitments too folks. We love the club and that's why we pour so much in. Steve-O, Dave and I haven't gotten to run a full event day in a couple of years because we are making sure things run smoothly on the day, not to mention all of the exec meetings we spend planning the days. And even cruises take a lot of preparation and planning before the day. Now, I know everyone contributing in here honestly wants the same thing we do. We all want to make SAU:NSW the best car club around. But from a practical sense we need your help to do it. There are a few normal members that really step up to organise un-official events and get them on. Thanks so much Marsss, 34GeeTeeTee & Luke (and sorry if I'm missed anyone)! You guys have taken the initiative for the benefit of the forum members here. I sincerely thank you for setting the example I'd love to see really take off. I am on the exec team today because I did a very similar thing approaching Steve-O, Duncan and Neil a few years back. I wanted to be part of moving us forward and finding ways my skills could be put to use. However, we have had prior experience where the exec team just about self destructed because of everything we had to do to support the events calendar. There aren't many clubs around that annually do this many events. At last year's dinner Christine Gibson quoted "I've never seen a club that does as much as yours!" 1-2 track days 3-4 Texi's (BTW - technically Sutton Rd is a hill climb) Numerous Cruises Several Tech Nights End of Year Event Coming up soon we will hold our Open GM where we can dedicate 15 minutes to discuss this topic. I'm thinking that we should do it on a Sunday and have it in conjuction with a Club House Worker Bee and maybe follow it up with a snag BBQ or something. This will be for fincancial members only though. So the best way to see some of these ideas come into being, then contact me and let me know you want to run with it. If it requires funding then I need to know the cost and how we will ensure it is justifiable, or if the exec team doesn't think it's feasible at this time.

Ricky, That was an education on tuning and well worth the money. It was offered by Unigroup - wasn't an official SAU event. [Warning! Presidential Statement] I think folks here have to recognise that as a non-for-profit club, we do more high quality affordable events than any other club I know of. SAU National event coming up folks and it will be CHEAP for a full 3 days of events. And members do get first crack at those spots. They WILL fill fast so if you want to get in on it, get in quickly once registration goes up. Also, I have to point out that you get out of a club what you put into it. There are too many that like taking a "free ride". If you want more, then step up and help out. We always need helpers. The few times I've asked people in the official helper thread to help out, we've gotten 0 response. That's right, the same people end up doing all the work. To those that have stepped up and even taken it on themselves to create non-official SAU cruises and collectively attend events - I salute you! Wed Drag nights are easy to get a few guys together; the New Castle crew is getting more active thanks to a very small few that are quite active here; a few are using their connections to try to organise some up-coming events. If you want more from the club, we need more genuine help. Thanks to all and I SAU appreciate's your support.

While I like the input I do have to point out that motorsport isn't that cheap folks. EC is a VERY expensive track to hire if you can even get on the schedule. Also they are outrageous on their skid pan hire as well. The only other clubs that run days cheaper than ours put twice the entries in and you only get 1/2 as much time. If you want to drift come to a texi and go for your life. Plenty of people see our Texi's as our drift day and until the last one we weren't filling them up. Keep the constructive discussion coming, I just want to be realistic about costs and club events at expensive venues.

Wanna see the mother of all Harmonic Balancer stories! Behold my battle began 3 weeks ago and still don't have the oil pump off to do the front seal. This should scare you into bringing it to a shop. $700 would have been a bargain for me! https://vimeo.com/48171832
