  1. Superb Epic day! I had so much fun and so many skidz were had. All you folks with video and/or photos PM me to arrange a way to get it for our end of year DVD. Also anyone having pics/video of my GTR doing stupidly cool stuff - Extra points!
  2. SKIDz!!!! Car is washed and packing up all my camera gear now. Geezbus for one guy I sure pack a lot of gear!
  3. Time to kick this into high gear folks. SAU Nats entries opens tomorrow. We need to sort our who will be in our group and what our plan is. Sounds like time for a planning session to me. How about we plan a small little cruise for some pizza and planning? Also those that are attending Texi and planning on the Road Trip please see me.
  4. Hey there people - GoPro Hire still available. PM me if you want one.
  5. Conflict with the SAU Nationals puts me out too. Darn! Would have loved to take another go at EC.
  6. Glad to hear it wasn't anything major. Most of these types of issues are related to intercooler piping coming loose.
  7. Ok, if you use recompression software and keep it HD with reasonable bit rates (3k-8k/s) then you will get decent stuff. Use either H.264, XVid or DivX codecs or if you are on a Mac then use quicktime (M4V - which is a H.264 variant). H.264 is currently the best compression for quality and compression but it will take some time. If you just want to recompress then Handbrake is a reasonable tool that can do decent h.264 compression. Welcome to the wonderful world of video my friend!
  8. Just to be sure everyone is clear the change for round three is that Renew is going to take lead and host it at Eastern Creek. As Chris has said it is really tough to get a whole day at the Creek so I hope that members of both clubs take advantage of this opportunity. SAU will still run our day at Wakefield in December but that will go back to our club format.
  9. Not to mention I believe Terry Ashwood is bringing out the Winfield GTR.
  10. Finally have some footage I feel like sharing. This was done at MDTC in Marulan, NSW. Tight little track but a whole lotta fun. Before you say anything, I don't know why I started driving one handed later in the day. Was doing alright earlier. For some reason started holding on to the gear lever like a 3yr holds his... well you know. I guess I must have scared myself into regression Thanks for the tips on dashware - great little piece of software. Way better than RaceChrono2AVI for this kind of work. Data was collected using QStarz lap timer. Strange was 0.1 difference between the laptimer and Dashware.

SAU Forum Name: Pezhead Car: R33 GTR Circuit: MDTC Best time 45.6 Timing: QStarz 1000EX Lap Timer/Dashware (QStarz actually read 45.515 but dashware was 45.6, funny off same data) Car Setup: Low Boost 265 AWKW @14 PSI High Boost 307 AWKW @20 PSI Greddy Type S Suspension Brakes: RDA rotors/Hawk Blue Pads Tires: 235 Pirelli P-Zero (Really old, 2005 mfg date)

  13. As promised here is a "touched up" version of us and our cars:
  14. Here's a few pictures from the Canberra cruise last Sunday. Other photos from that day (Sorry, know I'm a bit of a whore with this post but photography seems to be a bit of a burst affair for me)
  15. She's in no hurry so should be all good Kel.
  16. So, even though I know I'll get no end of ribbing I've put together a few of those "Moment" clips for your enjoyment.
  17. I didn't take a lot of pictures during the event, but I did manage just a few snaps. Who else got pictures? Anybody get some nice shots of my car? and last one... How'd they make GD2ILA shuddup!
  18. Yeah, I was amazed at how much the front and rear tyres pull away from the rim. Not too shabby too for 6 year old Pirelli's! (Hey they were UBER cheap). I have some wet footage too but it isn't nearly as impressive. I have to say that the track is a totally different experience in the dry. I started the second day working the speed up since my previous experience was in the wet. The Grip level on the track, as you can see, is terrific. You can really push the car to the limits and there are really only a few spots where it might get away from you. The rest of the track is Go HARD GO GO GO! First session of the day on the dry yeilded a 48.4 and that got down to 45.5 before I started getting too enamoured with sliding around to care about track times. Happy when the lap times drop that much!
  19. Well don't judge the picture quality by the streaming stuff we put up. The original cut was 1 gig for 7 minute and Vimeo spat the dummy. I had to drastically reduce the quality to get the whole thing up. You should see the high quality version.
  20. Ok, so I know you guys are going to HATE me but I felt I needed to share this. I got to go back out on Monday to MDTC and it was mostly dry day so very little standing water on the track. Oh let me tell you how fun this track is in the dry! My Best Wet Lap on Saturday was a 50.8 and my best on Monday in the dry was a 45.5 These weren't the fastest laps but it got so fun sliding the GTR around in the dry that I really stopped caring about the times. If you get bored be sure you fast forward to last 1/2 of the video - that front angle is fantastic for showing how it "feels" to drive.
  21. Spotted Humbla on the Hume Hwy yesterday and cruised together for about 20k's.
  22. Label on the inside says ISO6940 FIA 86 Rules. I can bring them to the Texi if you want to inspect/try them on.
  23. gopro HD has a setting in the menu change "UP" to "UPD" and it will record upside down. Or you can use the software linked on their site to re-encode flipping without frame rate loss.
  24. 48.4 on 2nd lap of the day semi dry track. Yeehaaa!
  25. Wait till you see the on track video I got! I think you learn heaps at a track like this.
