  1. Spotted Michael in his Flame Spiting Silver R32 GTR this morn on Yanko rd & Lane Cove Rd. Nice flame ball buddy!
  2. Hey folks, so who's going? I'll be there on Saturday to spectate all those uber sprint lap cars do their thing! Anybody else want to catch up when we're there? I know that a few of the other guys are going both Friday and Saturday. It's always just a bit more fun to hang out with a friends rather than just going it as a loner.
  3. Money on the way!
  4. Hey guys, I'm building some stuff for my video rig and though I'd share this one since it will also work for any SLR zoom lens. I wanted a more controllable way to zoom when I have my camera in video mode. I got this downspout clamp from Bunnings for $5. I just cut the tabs and drilled a hole to put the clamping screw through (a nice long one from one of my extra follow focus gears). It really turned out well and the zoom is so much more fluid and smooth since I can control it better. Just thought I'd share.
  5. Heres a few shots of the new video rig. I've still got a few bits to build but its finally taking shape. Can't wait to get out and do some field testing.
  6. I haven't contributed anything in a while but I just got my new camera last week. It's a Panasonic GH2 Micro 4/3. So far pretty impressed with its capabilities. Here's a few test shots I took when I got it. Shot of the moon was iso 160, but the other two were tests of indoor lighting and iso 1600. I'm really impressed with the high iso range with minimal noise. Of course I'd usually shoot lower iso but I wanted to see the image quality in high iso for video use. In video you can slow down the shutter but it really starts to make things look choppy if you go too far. Hopefully I'll have some more time to play soon and post some more pics.
  7. So I took a few minutes to shoot some "test" footage when we were out at lunch today. This is shot with my new bit of video kit - a Panasonic GH2 M4/3 camera and 14-140 kit lens. I'm very pleased with the amount of detail the camera captures. I've got a bit of learning to do to set it up correctly as the bright lighting changes caused my the picture to blow out.
  8. Ah Ha - In for this now. In fact I'll be staying over for the cruise and dinner. Then I have a corporate function at MDTC on that Monday! What a great weekend plan!
  9. Hey, if Hef's babes can get airbrushed why can't our cars. Matty - truely amazing stuff there buddy!
  10. Thanks for this Phil. Hey if the footrests aren't on their way can I fwd some extra shipping money to get my other pedals?
  11. Be sure to put a brick in the door so you don't get locked out there... ala the Hangover!
  12. If you are bored and think that we need more interesting threads then you should post something up to change it. This is a community folks, we can all contribute. I've been thinking about posting this in the whore thread. Some of the discussions in there would be great topics if created in their own threads instead of being burried in the 1000's of posts in that topic. So, next time you want to start an interesting discussion post it in the general NSW Member section instead. My 2 cents.
  13. I just stumbled across this video on Vimeo - love the theme and camera work, even if it is from some Californian's in America.
  14. It's a good thing those are 235's on the 34 GTR Rims. Don't think you can get any more under there without pumping the guards.
  15. Like the angry birds! lol
  16. Good work Dave et al. Amazing - seems WSID wants a race to the start, rather than race to the finish
  17. So this weekend I stumbled across this site when I was doing some research on DIY'n some gear. The site has a great mix of DIY and affordable gear review by normal Joe budget shooters like most of us. I've spent literally days exporing the past articles and reviews. I've now also ordered some gear the I've been wanting but couldn't find cheaply enough or was worried about the quality. http://cheesycam.com/
  18. You've just shamed every mum on SAU! Awesome!
  19. oh that would really suck, not only is your car stolen and trashed but you get a picture of the thief enjoying your ride. I hope they got the bastard.
  20. Joel, please do bring them along. I'll have some of my camera gear too if you want to try your hand at shooting some video.
  21. Biggest thing about turbo motors and high compression is to keep the boost at a reasonable level. Low compression on turbo motors is to ensure there is no detonation. As others have said high compression turbo motors will be more responsive up to a reasonable boost level and then detonation risk will prevent you from making more power. So good fuel and good tune will keep you sorted.
  22. Probably just hang on to it till you come to the next SAU event. Then just pass to me or any other SAU exec. It's a spare for me so I just use it to transfer big files and stuff.
  23. Wow, somebody certainly didn't break his sense of humour!
  24. Have a chat to Aggroman (Dave). He took his NA 34 and when he got off his P's he did a turbo conversion with great results. Mind you, he's an absolute wiz with a wrench but worth have'n a chat to him.
  25. Great to hear that you are back home with your family Aaron. Let us know if there's anything we can do (hitch a ride on the next cruise, etc).
