  1. I use Corel VideoStudio X3. Easy to learn (as video editing goes) and plenty of functionality. 90% is just trim clip, insert into timeline, dub music then throw on some titles and transitions. Of course that still took 2-3 hours of editing for 6 minutes output.
  2. Totally agree here SteveO. You've done a stellar job of making all those "Other" clubs jealous of all the cool stuff we do. Kudo's. And THANK YOU! for all the time and effort you've put behind making all of our events come off so well. You've put your heart and soul into them and it shows!
  3. Performance Imports. I put up the R32 21st cruise video there and he was really cool and supportive of the club enthusiast scene. I'll send him the link tomorrow if I can remember and have time.
  4. Prayers go out to all the SAU members. We know a few with silver or white R32's. I hope they are alright.
  5. My latest video from the Trackday last Sunday.
  6. Sure SteveO post away. An Ben I wouldn't do more than 10 or 15 minutes really. Believe it or not it gets repetitive and boring after a while. I had about 1.5 hours of footage to cut down for that 6 minute clip. Trick is to only have a few long segments and mostly 3-5 second clips. Thanks for the kinds words guys. Oh, we should post it up on PI facebook too.
  7. Ok folks - I think this is a new record for me. Compilation video is up!
  8. Thanks Kory. The S15 has an RB, not sure if it was a 25 or 26 or modified 26/30 or som'n. Went so hard! Neil said that it was an enduro car so has done a 24hr race! I made sure to get permission first. They were pretty cool with it after that but said - no one else goes up. The lighting was a bit tough cause the best angles are from the other side of the track and I waited until too late in the day to get over there. I got my lighting wrong for the whole day - Doh! That little blue and white Rotary is Brian's (GTR32R) - really neat little car. But 3/4 the motor and all the trans sits inside with him! Was a good day, but my back is killing me from holding in shooting position all day. Appreciate the suggestions.
  9. Want to know what you can do to help out at a club event or just want to become more active in the club? This topic is set-up so that the club execs can ask for assistance from club members from time to time. Or you can put your hand up to help out. If you are offering to help out please just let us know if you having anything in particular in mind or if you just want to help out in general. One of the club execs will then PM you to get your contact details and let you know what's coming up. Please do not chit chat in this thread. It is only for requests for and offers to help out. *HINT* if you want to be notified when we're asking for help then just subscribe to this topic and have the notifications emailed to you. Of course you'll also get notifications of people offering, but at least it's one less thing to check in the forums.
  10. ok so I shall get the photos started. Mind you they aren't the same quality as Matt & Kory manage, but not bad if I do say so myself. And thank god for digital photography where I don't have to pay for all the crap photos that didn't turn out while trying to get a few good ones.
  11. So Matt & Kory, I have a whole new level of respect for your awesome mad photo skillz. Since I had more time at the Trackday I decided to lug my Nikon around and see if I could get some practice. I got brave and took the camera out of "Awesome" mode and started shooting. My panning skills are horrible! So many shots ended up on the cutting room floor. But throughout the day I did manage to get just a couple of presentable shots. I'm really amazed how you guys get so many terrific looking shots. So here are a few. Would appreciate tips (although I'll problably stick to the video work, hehe).
  12. Wow, I left at about 4:20 and must have just missed it. Hey folks the wrap-up thread is up. Please move the conversation there. Wrap Up Thread
  13. Here's the wrap up thread folks. Go nuts put you your photos and video here. Discuss the day - what a great day for weather and friendly competition between the two clubs. I've got a LOT of video since I shot all day long. I will edit something together and post it up in about a week.
  14. That S15's an ANIMAL! Kory you are soooooo right. I tried to take a couple of photos between video and well, most of mine simply turn out rubbish compared to you guys. We'll be discussing at the AGM to try and sort out an equitable arrangement so that we can continue to enjoy you and Matt's work. Condolences to the poor yellow Mazda. I saw him walk away but does anyone know him / know if he's alright?
  15. We had a similar problem with numbers last event too. Matt did a post on the Renew site but didn't get any response at all. I plan to discuss this at the SAU General Meeting as the photographers do such a great job, but asking them to spend 3 days doing photos for very little isn't a fair deal. I will try to propose a few alternatives to the club so that we can retain their awesome services. But this time we will be sans SAU club photography. Be sure to come to the AGM to voice your opinion on our options.
  16. Unfortunately we haven't had enough interest in the photography DVD for it to be a go'er. Remember folks our photographers come out and trek all over the track to get lots of good angles, then they spend 2-3 days touching up the photos to make sure you get the best product. We only got 5 people raising interest. I will raise this at the AGM. If we want to continue to have this option as a club then we need to find a way to make sure they get enough to cover expenses and a few extra bucks for their time. Otherwise we are just asking them to do charity work for us. I'll be there shooting some video for the club to make a video since I'm sidelined.

    Wheels

I agree. One of the easiest ways to radically change the look and stance of your car is changing the wheels/offsets. Before... After...
  18. Dave that seriously sucks! After our house got broken into and they stole the keys to the GTR (luckily I had it at work) I put a keypad immobiliser on in addition to the standard alarm. That way they have to enter a PIN to start. If you want the number of the guy that installed it let me know. Do you want a ride to the trackday on Sat? I'm driving up and back on Sat in Rupret.

    Drag Day

+1 to the constructive comments. Thanks for the help and sharing your knowledge. There are a lot of bench racer and dyno queens that don't understand that a dyno number and 1/4 mile number can be worlds apart. Let alone actually using the power your car makes to get a good run. Again, we really appreciate folks like you that let us know the in's/out's and the track rules and guidelines. Our members need to remember that dedicated factilities can only operate if they can get insurance cover. Without it there wouldn't be race tracks. The rules that the insurance companies make aren't under our control. These are big businesses that work on statistics and corporate bureaucracy - I know cause I work at a big corporate (but not insurance).
  20. I used a CCFL (cold cathode florescent) in mine. Got it from Jaycar. It works, but is a little too short and a little too bright. I ended up putting two LEDs in - one at each end to handle the shortness that was causing the ends to be too dim. On the brightness it is so bright that it actually shines through the paint - of course my car is white so paint doesn't block as much as a darker color or silver. I have a mod planned to fix it up but haven't gotten around to it yet. It's been on the car for a year now without problem though.
  21. Only a few people have PM'd me about photos. Folks in order for the photographers to come all the way out we need more interest registered. If you want killer shots of your high speed awesomeness - PM me so we can ensure it is a go.
  22. Hey folks (esp Jay019) This deal cam through this morning - Bike (or bar) camera/iphone mount (has both adapters). It is from Camzilla which do pretty good mounts as I understand. 50% off - $69. ONLY VAILD UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT! I'm going to use it on the rig I'm building. Deal Link
  23. Naw, clearly sit at least 4-5mm outside the guards. Would have to pump the guards to get them to fit. Real shame they look really tough Nick.
  24. Hey folks - I need to get commitment numbers on the photography. Everyone loves getting pics of your car going 11ty at the track. Last time we only barely got enough takers so we need to get commitment numbers in order to make it worth while for our photographers to make the trek to Goulburn. PM me your name and car and I'll see you on the day.
  25. Hey guys, time to mark reserves on the SAU GoProHD cameras. We have three of them for rent. Rental is $35 for the day. I will bring them to the track and help you set it up and learn how to work it. They have a 16 gig card which is good for about 2 hrs of 720p HD video. That's about how long the battery will last too. If you want to reserve one, pm me your details. See me and pay cash on the day. If you want the video on the day then bring a BIG USB drive. Otherwise I will burn a set of DVD's for you and mail it back to you.
