  1. Here are some PDF's. Hope these help you out. Cam_Valve.pdf Ex_Manifold.pdf F_Cover.pdf Head.pdf In_Manifold.pdf Manifold.pdf Rocker_Cover.pdf Throttle_Chamber.pdf
  2. Checked the problem and It's only a pinhole in the oil line! :) I'm so relieved that it isn't something more major. You know how your mind plays with you.. suddenly you realise that not only are the oil lines in front but so is the oil pump. What if that went out? What does seem strange is that the pinhole is in the middle of the line, not an end nor is it at the tightest point. It is exposed as there isn't a gravel shield under my car. But this is stainless braided shielded lines with a plastic liner. How does something puncture that for a pinhole? And these are less than 6 months old too. I bought the kit from UAS in December and installed in January. I'm thinking I'm going to replace all the lines just in case. I don't want this happening sometime/somewhere that I don't notice until the oil pressure goes to 0 then bye bye motor. Anyways, happy story for now. Thanks folks!
  3. Won't have a chance to look at it until Sunday. I'm betting it is a fitting as the dribble is coming from two spots so it must be running down the line. The pressure hit 6.5 bar (cold, no I wasn't rev'n it) at max so I doubt it could have split a line. I'll post the results when I get under it this weekend.
  4. Yeah, the mounting on the Go Pro looks superb. Keep the notice up if you get a group buy going. I might go for it to have a couple angles when running in the car. The video conversion on Youtube also sucks. The native footage looks much better. Oh, I get about 1 hr of video @ 30 FPS 640 x 480 mode on 2GB SD card. 2x 2500 mah NiMh batts power about that same time too.
  5. Hey folks see the interest in cameras. I finally got to try mine out too and I thought it worked pretty good. I need to put some tape over the mic hole cause the wind noise is annoying but the video turned out pretty good. Only other drawback is that it only comes with one mount so it would have been nice if they gave a couple. Camera details: http://www.atc2k.com/ Footage from my car @ Wakefield 26th April: (note I overlaid the info from my G-Tech RR in the video - the car pulled just over 1 G! whoohoo!) These go for about $100 USD in the US and about $200 AUD here gotta love how everything is so expensive here. I shipped my from the US for about AUD $150 all up. Oh, an no critics about my driving I know I have a lot to learn hehe.
  6. Guys I need some sympathy. I had to go to the dentist today so I left work early. Leaving the car park at work I noticed that the tyre spun really easily. That's odd I thought. Luckily it was a short drive to the dentist. So I checked the tyres thinking maybe I rolled through something. Yes one had an oily residue. But then I saw the puddle forming under the front spoiler! Oil was running out from the car and there were two lines into the car spot! I immediately shut down the turbo timer while looking at the oil pressure gauge. At least it was still getting pressure. So then I had to sit and get my teeth cleaned all the time thinking - my car! Oh son of rajab what to do... Should I bypass the remote oil cooler and put the filter back on the block to get it home? How am I going to work in the car park? My wife being the rational one convinced me to get it towed home on a flat bed. Luckily it wasn't too far either. I hate the feeling of the car on the tow truck being paraded through rush hour. How humiliating! Now I have work functions going on until Sunday so won't have time to look at the car. ARGH! Well, on the upside at least the car never lost oil pressure and I had just changed the oil last weekend so it was fully topped up.
  7. Hey fellas, I'm interested in your opinion here. I recently took my car to the track and now have the spongy feeling brakes. The car ran OK throughout the day, but I probably ran it too hard during the sessions at the end of the day. At the end of the day, it felt OK but could feel the brakes weren't biting like they should. I did change the pads 4 months back to EBC Reds and changed/bled the fluid with Motul 660 the weekend before the track day. I drove home and was a little mushy so I thought it was just glazed pads or some boiled fluid. The pads were glazed so I scuffed the glazing off but the softness was still there. So I rebuilt the master cylinder this weekend. I've got more pedal now, but still can't lock-up/get the ABS to kick in. This is on an R33 GTR. Since the brakes were ok before the track day, I think it might be heat related. There's plenty of brake pad left - but could I have ruined them by overheating them? The rotor's don't look bad - no visible signs of overheating. ABS Unit? I'm a bit stumped. When I have time, I'm going to try putting the old pads back in to see if that makes a difference.
  8. I've got a Dopod windows mobile phone so thought I'd share this find with you folks. It works on Windows mobile and also has a full windows version (I'm also working on integrating a laptop into the car for a full car-puter - but that is taking some time). It is free and has capabilities to do ODBII logging too! I haven't tried it yet but looks good. Now, if I could just figure out how to get ODB out of my Autronic SM2! http://sebastien.guchet.free.fr/ChronoGPS/englishmanual.htm
  9. I'll take the short shifter. Someone here asked if it is all R33 - no, only GTS-4 and GTR. Please pm me details on how to get you payment and arrange shipping. Thanks.
  10. Hey folks here is a youtube video from session #5. You tube only let's me put up 10 minutes so you just see the fish tail as the car points towards the infield from turn 5 but don't worry, a little dust on the tyres and well a thorn in my pride were all that were casualties. You can see BreakMaster's car peak out from in front of the Evo from time to time. The overlay of the G-Tech data didn't turn out too good on youtube. It looks much better on my original video. When the bars on the box extend all the way that is 1+ G! Oh and the sound got a little out of sync too, but the audio is pretty bad anyways.
  11. Ah, must have been an Evo8. It did look really good. I can't make the 21st June as the wife has made plans for us Anyone interested in going in May? I hear there's another weekend session round the end of may. Was up late working on the video last night but not quite working very well yet. Video editing is such a pain.
  12. Well, actually I started the day around 1:22 without traffic. Mid day was running 1:20 and only managed to dip below three times in the last session - 1:19, 1:18, 1:17 all chasing down Breakmaster and his mate with an Evo (was it an 6 or 8 - I can't tell 'em apart). I'm sure I wouldn't have as much fish tailing if my front attessa was working. but gotta save up the $$$ to get it done. I spilled a bit of oil too, and had the dipstick loose on the second session. What a mess! I cleaned that up at the car wash on Sunday, but the bottom of the car is a real mess. That was on my street radials (not R comp's) so I'm pretty happy with it. I took lots of bumper cam video and used my g-tech RR to log all sessions except one (got too excited and forgot to hit the record button). I'm pretty impressed that the GTR managed regular .9+ g's with a few blips above 1. Highest was a very short 1.12! I'm analysing the data now trying to figure out my driving and what worked and what didn't. It is a great tool. I'll post something later when I get it all logged and charted. The track was so dry all day! What a terrific time. Although I had to vacuum out the car from all of the dust and grass .. er, I might have slipped off a few times hehe.
  13. Was a fantastic day - sunny and cool, about 21. It was my first time out at Wakie and first time in the GTR all out on the track. I think it would have been better if my front transfer case was actually working as I was oversteer city everywhere. I managed consistent 1:20's with a 1:17, 1:18, 1:19 while chasing down the Evo and Breakmaster. That was on my street tyres that are just regular 'ol Toyo Transas. Next time I'll bring out the slicks. Now my pads are a bit glazed so have to tear 'em down to scuff them up. Better get some track pads too. Great day! (although I had to vacuum out the car from all the grass and dust, I went off about 5 times my bad!)
  14. Spotted Breakmaster in his Black R33 GTS-T at wakefield park yesterday. There was also an R34 GTR and an R32 GTR, but the R32 was not running on the track.
  15. spott-o Black R33 GTR tonight. Turned from Lady Game Rd to Lane Cove Road and then on Yanko to the Pymble BP. NICE 400R front Bar!
  16. Thanks fellas. Yeah, I'm just looking to have a bit of fun. I've spent some serious time getting the car set up before taking to the track. I really need a fix of some speed to make me feel that my time has been well spent I might not even take out the slicks and just run the street tyres. Since buying the car in August I've added an oil cooler, bigger radiator, new suspension, and gauges to make sure I don't stuff anything up at the track. Also replaced the worn out tyres, but with just some street toyo's.
  17. Was think'n of it but want to do some circuit work first. Also Wakie looks to have nicer run-off areas for my first outing.
  18. Hey do you have the atessa pump? I think mine might be on the way out. rds.
  19. Location: Wakefield Date: Saturday April 26th Cost: $110 (requires annual pass $50) I'm seriously considering taking my skyline out for my first real track day. Is anybody else going?
  20. Prob me mate - white R33 GTR Blue GD2ILA plates. I didn't see ya, I wave at lots of R33's on my way to/from work - rarely get a response. Was that you with the SAU on the rear 1/4 window? I gave a wave but think you were already turning/passing.
  21. The GReddy's are pretty new to the market so I don't know if you'll get too many people that have direct comparison experience to the Teins. I just put some Type-S on my 33 GTR to replace my Olins. I can only give you my experience, but I can say that I'm so impressed with them so far. The Olins were a really good shock but had fixed rate springs in 9kg/7kg and are really set up for a really low car. At full height I could only get my car to 330mm front and 340 rear. This was just too low for my driveway so had to say bye bye to the Olins. Also, there was so little travel in the Olins that when driving off a drive way at an angle the car would lift a tyre. I'm sure that they are great for an all out track car, but this just doesn't work on the street. The GReddy's have 8kg/6kg progressive springs. IMO pregressive springs are a must for high spring rates on the street. The damping feel is so different to a fixed spring rate. I've only set the dampening setting to the middle of the range but so far find this very streetable. Of course coming from the Olins on the lightest setting, the GReddy's dampen so much more progressively. They aren't as harsh. I've set the car up at about 355mm front 345mm rear. The fronts are extended fully at that ride height, but with the additional 25mm I can now get out of the driveway. The GReddy's also have a lot more travel than the Olins. Again due to the progressive nature of the springs when you go over a dip and back up again they take up so smoothly it's amazing. The Olins felt like the car was on rails, but I got a bit nervous when I could tell the tyres leave the road and then come back down so harsh. I feel so much more confident on the GReddy's. I've never been in a car with the Teins so can't speak to them. But I am very happy with the GReddy's. One note is that it took 2 1/2 months for mine to finally arrive from Japan. Maybe this is because there aren't as many GTR's around, but seemed like forever. Was worth the wait though. Here are a few pictures to temp you God aren't they pure sex!
  22. Your mechanic is correct that overfilling is only a prob if the counter weights of the crank actually slap the oil. But I doubt that you could actually feel that happening, maybe just a very slight vibration. If you are concerned at all, empty a little out. Better than ruining your crank or causing damage to the main bearings and such.
  23. There are plenty of good shops around, but why do you think you only need to change the rings? If your motor is tired then you will at least need to do the pistons and rings together. They will need to hone the bores if you are lucky (not too worn or scored) or bore them out if they need to be cleaned more than a hone. While you are doing all this you might as well change the oil pump, have the rods cleaned and inspected (maybe shot peened), etc. Since the head has to come off to do this, you might as well do it too. Do a valve grind and possibly replace the valve guides or at least the seals. The objective of a rebuild is generally to return/enhance the core strength and tolerances of a motor and that takes a lot more than just replacing a few items. I doubt you'd find a reputable shop that'd only do the rings. (my 2 cents)
  24. Do you live in Sydney and commute to/from work on Lane Cove Rd? I see one from time to time travel that road on weekdays.
  25. Thanks Duncan, I kind of thought so. The 4wd light doesn't come on and the centre console gauge works and says power is being transferred but I think I finally found my problem. I'll try to get it into a shop to have them check the Attessa pump and system, but I think it may be stuffed.
