R32 Rb20det +r33 Rb25de/t Engine Parts
ISL33P replied to johnosvlt1's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
i need the screws for the spak plug cover and coils, do you have any spare ? Ariel -
for a rough idea, try something similar to a gtr style that tapers towards the rear. try to keep the total length of the runners, including bellmouths, the same.

Garage Sale Skyline Parts
ISL33P replied to burko1's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
how much for the xf tb ? i am in sydney tmr after lunch. -
r31 - you could say that thanks for that tom, much appreciated. just let me know when you have sent them and i will get them started in anticipation for the runners.
-
and for $ i am charging i definately not running a workshop. i work from my small double garage in my villa and clock up some serious k's to get everything done right by the best people at the right price. you would be surprised how much time and money i spend on my plenums, especially considering how much they sell for. people are always telling me to put the prices up, but i have resisted for the time being.

there may be plenty of flow, but imagine what the engine would do with a better flowing plenum. of course it will continue to flow if yu keep on throwing more boost at it, but at what stage does it become less restrictive than a aftermarket plenum is the question that no-one can answer.........yet its just like changing a intercooler, the stock one might go alright, but imagine what you would do with a decent cooler.
-
doing one as we speak
-
....... make that 3000hp, two of those thumper turbonetics turbos should do the trick
-
and now i change my mind, they are rated at 2000hp like i said depends how much boost you want to put into in it
-
stock one is rated at 1000hp........but i suppose any plenum could do that with enough boost i know of a rb30 making 600rwhp with a std plenum and only a front mounted tb
-
i currenlty am in the process of doing some flow testing for a rb25 plenum comparing stock to mine style, which have a foward facing tb. it all depends on what you want to do with the car. one of my rb30 plenums just helped a car make 780rwhp !!!
-
just an update for all those interested std rb25det inlet manifold flow results 1 256cfm 2 260 " 3 283 " 4 290 " 5 259 " 6 260 " overall 505cfm thru the tb % variance of upto 14% between 1 & 4. overall variance -4.5% - +8.2% my plenum results will be a couple of weeks away. will be measured using same flow bech and test vacuum
-
thanks for that shaun, but a friend of mine has offered my one for a couple of days. thanks again, Ariel

Donation Sale - RB25 Parts
ISL33P replied to riceline's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
is the rb30 inlet runners and fuel rail still for sale ? if so, i will take them plus delivery. Ariel -
why are you selling ?
-
Still dont agree with that theory - then the same would go for intercoolers, exhausts, exhaust manifolds which are all static ??? - but anyway. I am after a top half of a rb25 plenum for flow testing if anyone is willing to let me borrow one for a week or so and then i will return it. Plenums can be made to suit any application, whether it be for outright hp (which is the most popular) or good throttle response for a circuit/street car. Time and real world figures (not theory) will tell. As i currently dont own a rb25 (just a rb25/30 in the build), and as i said before i am happy to supply a plenum to anyone for free to do comparisons.
-
Just after the top half of the inlet side of an rb25. I have the bottom half just need the top half for flow testing. Can return it if you are not willing to sell cause I only need it for a few days. Do not need throttle body or any accessories, just the actual plenum itself. Thanks, Ariel

gtrgeoff - what is the point of changing components and not making the necessary adj's to suit. would you not get a new tune if you installed new injectors, turbo or cams etc ? please, think about it. would you get more power from installing 1000cc injectors on a stock engine and make more power, i think not, most probably the opposite and this is the reason why after each modification people tune their cars to get the best from it and the saem reason why dyno's are so popular. tuning does give insight amnd very good insight at that. for eg, if a car is able to cope with more timing thanks to the mod, where before it couldnt, wouldnt this be to the advantage of the modification and therefore a benefit of carrying out the modification, just like a decent intercooler does complaed to standard ones. your response would be appreciated. i am happy to supply a plenum to anyone for free for dyno testing if they would like to provide their car as a test dummy. any takers ? this will shut anyone, including me, if results aren't there and put an end to any and all arguments on this topic.
-
i am happy to supply a plenum for a car producing 450+hp and see what it does, on one condition, its is tuned before and after by the same dyno operator on the same day (see beow), preferably one unknown to both the cars owner and myself to save any "fundging" of figures on anyones behalf. the challenge is up to you to prove me wrong. in regards to the tuningmwhy wouldnt someone change the tune to take full benefit of the mods, its like changing a turbo and not doing anything else. The only benchmark you can use if boost level. If a car is tuned to its peak and produced xxxhp at yypsi what is wrong with tuning the car with the new mods with the same yypsi and air/fuel ratios and use that as a basis for any improvement in the cars peformance. If people were to take your philosophy on board, we would all have all the mods in the world with standard computers, injectors exhaust etc ......... ????????? whats the point of that. r33 racer, you just stick to your internet mechanics and you will go a long way

increased throttle response/more torque/less lag all increase fuel economy with the engine reaching a better level of efficiency than previously (whatever that may be). how would you explain hp/torque increases on a car with exactly the same pipe lengths and diameters and the only difference being change in forward facing plenum design ? This has been done and the results are quite interesting. They do reflect some of your comment with volume affecting throttle response, but at the cost of power. Time will tell with more results coming soon. sounds like you are only kidding yourself if you think plenums dont increase hp, doesnt matter if the car is internally standard or not. Internals have no effect on engine performance, they are only modified for durability, not performance. Cams will enhance power but generally at a cost of bottom end performance (depending on what cams you get). So an increase of airflow per cylinder will not increase hp ? i beg to differ and that is exactly what a plenum should do. as for bang for buck, cams and adj cam wheels will set you back more than one of my plenums ($900*) and i would like someone to see what results they get. They may not be a brand name but have outperformed brand names in the past and will continue to do so at a bargain price. My RB30ET plenums compared to bigger names for one and my 2JZ compared to Veilside is a prime example (sorry about the free plug, just giving examples) CA18 is a completely different kettle of fish as no-one makes them like myself (hence customers CA18's in Europe making 500-600rwhp with them). as for airspeed, let the turbo (upgrade) sort that out. Many people have asked that question in the past and it is all relative to engines efficiency as per my first paragraph. no offence taken at all sydneykid, this is what forums are all about. stocky -aac can be retained, i have dont it with nearly all different plenums i have done.
-
stocky - it is done individually on each cylinder once temps have stabilisied after several dynos runs to keep consistency. sydney kid - i proved this on my own car where pipe diamter stayed the same during all mods. only thing that changed was pipe length and plenum volume. i had greater torque (proven by a dyno) and throttle response (proven by increased fuel efficiency) with a (very) large plenum volume and short ic pipes than what i did with a std plenum and same size pipes but longer in length. but in the end each to their own as every person you ask has a different theory, i just go from what i know and has worked for me and customer and friends cars in the past.
-
..... and that is why i have an industrial digital thermometer to measure the temps of each exhaust outlet. so are you saying the runner diameters are different from factory, i would have to totally disagree. even flow is the best indication of a plenum that will no casue vastly diff egt's.
-
stocky - you can flow test all you like, the dyno doesnt lie (much) when you have back to back comparisons
-
like r33 racer said, original plenum is designed for a side feed. the power increase will be mainly down to the intercooler upgrade. increased throttle response/better spool will be down to the shorter piping without a doubt. tried and proven over and over again.
