  1. Don't fiddle without at least understanding what it is you are fiddling with. Just take it to someone who does know then if you can't be bothered.
  2. Is your boost controller working.. ie holding the set boost without deviating too much? If the answer is yes, then why change.. If the answer is no, have you followed the instructions to see if it is just a set up issue? The only other reason I can see to change (if the ebc is actually working) is that you have excess money, I take donations..
  3. Make sure to post up your dyno result in the forced induction sticky, i'd like to compare against mine as we are using almost exactly the same parts.. 'cept for the d'jetro.
  4. Isn't the question about r34 gtr set ups though? I thought the boost control solenoid was to allow a drop to a lower boost level in the event of a fault.. with just actuator on my stockers 32 setup, no boost solenoid in the circuit though - totally removed, the stock boost level was ~6psi.. This had been quoted to me as a failsafe level that the ecu drops to in the event of a fault.
  5. I was looking at the stage1 upgrade (324mm discs) as I wanted to keep the 17's I have.. any thoughts on these compared to using the 296mm stockers?
  6. that should be alright. stress relief remains intact past the solder. I'm talking more about soldering connectors, or soldering directly to equipment.
  7. got it in one. there is no stress relief where the solder that has bled in ends. if there is any flex in the wire it will work on this point..
  8. Don't solder anything that is subject to vibration. Use the correct crimp lugs with the correct crimping tool. Soldered wires subject to vibration will form a stress joint where the solder flow stops and will be the first place to break. (Lots of experience in this area, rail electronics repair and mining crap, please consider)
  9. Best of night for the bunky was 12.218 Good night, nothing broken.
  10. Looks like I am free to go.. Anyone else interested? Carn..
  11. Use Bp sometimes, Caltex sometimes (more a while ago as work was paying with the fuel card) and for the saturday's entertainment had a full belly of United 98. The bunky doesn't really give a rats about what I put into it, slurps it down and makes smoke and funny noises from the tyres (350rwhp so not entirely lethargic). Knock levels were the same as any I'd seen previous. I must say that I like the smell of caltex98 better.. smells sweeter, must be the aromatics.
  12. Doesn't the sender from the gtst gearbox fit the gtr box? (with the cog and whole assembly I'm asking about.. would save having to do this..)
  13. 3M outdoor tape, the type to use to stick things to brickwork. As well as cleaning the surface to be stuck to with some isopropyl alcohol prior to application. Not to an r34, but I had the devils own trying to stick to my r32 and my03 dashes.
  14. looks good. I might have to invest in one of these for other pursuits as well.
  15. [ attachment=196594:IMG_0720.jpg][at tachment=196599:IMG_0726.jpg][atta chment=196604:IMG_0731.jpg][attach ment=196609:IMG_0738.jpg] This proves I am no photographer either..
  16. Not me, 4wd and drift doesn't really go in the same sentence.. worked my way up to 7k launches though, pity I couldn't keep it straight afterward.. I took a few pics, will throw them up in a few minutes.
  17. Nice improvement during the afternoon ^. I'd hazard that you were going around maybe faster that I was. Definately a lot cleaner.. Great fun.
  18. same turbos. same here.
  19. use the existing wiring passthrough into the tank. a little bit of thinner wire won't drop bugger all volts.
  20. Every engine burns oil.. it just depends on wether the amount lost is visible on the dipstick.
  21. My preparation consisted of applying the sauwa decal, adjusting the clutch after replacing the master cylinder, and then attacking the radiator mounts with a 5" angle grinder.. Nothing like a bit of tough love.
  22. wait a bit for someone to respond... http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/33398-n1-turbos.html and lots more references bnr32 nismo
  23. sounds good, just don't overfill it. little bit at a time and check.
  24. hockey year round, squash, cycling.. not too bad for a fat bastard.
