  1. No one knows? Yes I did search, but the only answer given is that stock gtr is ~10psi, but that is with the stock solenoid and restrictor..
  2. Now I know this may seem like a real silly question... laugh if you want, but.. What are the stock actuators set at? I have an old blitz twinsbc and no longer have any of the original boost signal lines or solenoid, including the yellow band restrictor. With the unit turned off boost sits almost neatly on 0.5 bar. Is this what it should be?
  3. Because you have a series 2, the coils on your car differ greatly from an older car's coil. Yours has the transistor drive built into the coil package, whereas the earlier engines had a seperate transistor pack. On the older, seperate transistor, coil engines the reading on the primary side should be about 0.9Ω. On your car you are trying to read through the transistor as well as the coil winding, so your reading will be a lot different. Use your diode test on your meter, and go between pins 1 and 2, both ways round. Compare the reading you get with the other 5 coils. See wether there is a variation between the set. Hope that helps at all. James.
  4. Thats what I did champ, just letting others know that it is an issue and to keep it in mind.
  5. ngk code breakdown. http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/ngkjpg.htm
  6. Watch out that you can use the seat clasps with the new seats. R33 seats into my r32 and the clasps that came with the seats were too small for the seat belt clips.
  7. tps is throttle position sensor, ets is the attessa computer. rb20det ecu pinout and circuit. rb20de_det_eccs.pdf
  8. I didn't realise that, I picked it because it is the easiest to read. I have another at home that should have everything...
  9. here you go. skyline_ecu_pinout.pdf
  10. From what T04GTR (dave) has said and what I gather from the schematics, you just need to make sure that you are getting the tps voltage to the ets controller. If you aren't getting the correct voltage on that pin 56, in respect to a common negative shared between the tps and ets, then the ets isn't going to see the correct tps voltage. Pin 38 on the original ecu harness was the tps input to the ecu, pin 56 was the original tps output to the ets. What T04GTR was saying is just to bridge the original in to the original out, to send the tps to the rear of the car. I know bugger all about how an EMS is wired in, so if the connector has been modified you need to find out which wires correspond. James. If I'm wrong on this T04GTR let me know, I'm not an auto sparky just an instrument/electronics tech, but I'm learning fast..
  11. The three wires from ecu to attessa are: Engine speed signal Throttle signal + Throttle signal - James.
  12. Yep. I agree with this. What I said before was just for the abs error on the ets controller. Nothing to do with the 4wd. Hope that I didn't confuse anyone. I can't see any reason how having the abs unit disconnected would stop the 4wd from working unless it either needed a clean error code listing, or something in the ets side was borked. 21 is what T04GTR is saying about the tps signal not getting to the ets controller. page ch74 for the pins, and testing method. James.
  13. Dave, Looking at pages ch-66 and ch-259 ets and abs section schematics, It would appear that the ets controller commands the abs unit. There are a couple of inputs from the abs module that the ets controller is looking for.. I'll have to check on my ets module to see which inputs and what logic levels you need to get it up and running, but from first impressions pin 11 (link off abs motor in) on the ets needs to get linked with pin 1 (ign). Unsure about pin 5 and pin 7, depending on wether it needs an input on those or just switched to earth.... Anyone else have an opinion? Good luck. James. ps. Looking at the pages i said, the wheel sensors go straight to the ets controller.. same as what I can gather from the harness scematics fig1 c1, and fig5 w3.
  14. sorry to bother you but what are your filters? they look almost the same as what I am chasing to replace the m's filters on my car. James.
  15. If you find a place that is decent and cheap let us know. Thanks. James.
  16. What I am trying to chase down now is the same as what you experienced, heavy steering. It seems to be a fail safe condition on the speed sensitive power steering where it goes into the steering load that equates to approximately 60-70km/hr range. Unfortunatly mine is there all the time due to dodgy transplant wiring.
  17. For a cam with that amount of lift, would you need to clearance the head for the cam lobes?
  18. Using an old school Blitz TwinSBC. Cons: Old. No flash screen. No boost readout. Or any readout. Pros: Works well.
  19. Front and rear gtr suspension fits on r32 gts4's. Electrically it is damn near identical as well. The gts4 dash had different pinouts to the gtr dash that I currently have, but that may just be due to later model.. Interior fits nicely too. James.
  20. You will be giving corrosion a big head start...
  21. Anything larger, will put more fuel into the engine per opening duration.. as Adriano said, you either need a remap, or aftermarket ecu. James.
  22. Or, nengun. which is where I bought mine from.
  23. Ah, no. They are not. Had one do a funky +5psi shift. Pay cheap, get cheap. Using apexi el mechanical now, very happy lad.
  24. Thanks adam for the response, and the pics. Tossing up wether just to replace globes with plus rateds or give hid's a try. James.
