  1. Ive heard of these things being used on S13's before. Does anyone know if they actually make a beneficial difference to the handling of the car or not? Or is it because it looks cool
  2. It is basically the locking latch that attaches itself to the door actuator which locks the door. Yeah just the latch by itself, held on by the bolts connected to the door frame.
  3. Can anyone confirm whether a RB30 powersteering pump can be used to replace the factory RB20/25/26 one? And any dramas that it might cause with the HICAS or power steering system. As far as I know it is a straight swap.. Thanks,
  4. Yeah you are probably right. Just that I wanted to have a bash at trying to tune my own car myself considering the concept of tuning really isn't that difficult once you know what to look for. But if the dyno is the only way then it looks like I might have to bite the bullet and pay for a tune myself....
  5. Ok so if I was going to aim for a consistant AFR of say 12.1 across the range. It wouldn't necessarily mean that I would be getting maximum power across the a full rpm map. So the only way you can do a true tune is by using a dyno?
  6. Anyone? I'm sure someone on this website has done some form of tuning before...
  7. Do a basic test to see if its working. Put it in some boiling water and see if it opens correctly. Or better still put some water in a jug with a thermometer and gradually add hot water to it til it reaches 80 degrees to see if it is opening at the correct temperature.
  8. You sure? Because my mates R32 has the complete orange side indicators and my headlights are also different to his as well. Wouldn't think there would be much difference if any at all?
  9. Looked through site after site after site and through jap auctions and cant find the bloody things.
  10. Quick question... Does anyone know where you can buy these bloody clear indicator lens for the R32. Basically I can't find them anywhere.... Anyone know where i can buy a set from?
  11. Maybe you should post this in the victorian section?
  12. Why do you want to change the thermostat? The old one buggered?
  13. Just a curious question. When people tune cars what value's do they tune against or what process do they go through to correctly tune a car for the mods that it has? Do they tune to aim for a certain air/fuel ratio under all different loads (ie. full throttle, cruising, deceleration)? Wind in more boost and more timing til it starts to ping ? Or something else that I am missing completely? Only asking because in the next couple of weeks I am getting an adaptor welded into my dump pipe to be able to suit a wideband 02 sensor using a product that I am still undecided on at this stage with suitable logging software, so I can start to teach myself some of the basics. I'm starting off by using an SAFC2 as a starting point and then seeing how I go move on bigger and better things if all goes well...
  14. Err..... have you changed the radiator yet or had it checked out yet? My mate had the same problem. We ended up changing the thermostat, water pump, timing belt, reflushed the cooling system and check the thermo-fans before we changed the radiator. I work at a delearship and the first thing you should do if you have overheating issues with those symptons should be to replace the radiator or have it fixed.
  15. You will find various random unplugged terminal throughout the engine bay. It's highly unlikely that it should be plugged into something, and if it is it would be in the same area as the male terminal which plugs into it so would be easy to find. They are mostly there to accomedate for after factory genuine accessories to be installed without needing the harness to be split
  16. Basically you want to take it easy for the first 1000km. Put good quality fully synthetic oil in it and run it in. Don't rev it hard and try to stay off boost. Make sure you run it in all gears as the machinist recommended. After 1000km change the oil and flush out any debree if any from the rebuild.
  17. I run 1 bar day to day on my car with a FMIC. Have never had any drama's with it. But then again I don't thrash it consistantly. If you have a EBC thats even better because you can put it to 1 bar whenever you feel like it and run it at 12 psi during day to day driving.
