  1. Genuine nissan AFM's are very very expensive items btw
  2. Why not just run an ecu diagnostic rather than playing guessing games to see what your problem is? That will give you a definative answer to if your car has a bung AFM. Idling problems can be caused by an excessive amount of things just to name a few dirty/in-op/incorrectly set AAC valve, incorrectly set idle via throttle plate, carbon buildup on throttle plate, AFM problems, air regulator and the list goes on.... Do a seach and that should fix your problem.
  3. Haha thats the tool I used to remove my mates harmonic balancer. Never again.... Was a very very bad idea and cracked the side of it. Still useable but still damaged.
  4. Haha I'll do it for $299 Take into consideration also the cost of the new filter (probably worth replacing) and replacement of new oil as well. Doesn't take long to do and its a pretty simple upgrade. Much easier than the FMIC installation
  5. Is your car a GTS or a GTR? The GTR guards are substantially larger and therefore are capable of holding much wider rims in there guards.
  6. Maybe you have excessive hp and you dont know it
  7. Why not just buy a turbo model? That would reach that level with much more potential a lot easier
  8. Bah I got no footage at all. I thought my spin on the first corner during qualifying would have been a winner for sure.
  9. I'll let you know first hand because I will be driving it as well
  10. Without the turbo model you miss out on bigger brakes, 4 stud wheels? , LSD i think and all the other great options only found in these models. Buy a GTS-T and then transplant a RB25 in.
  11. Had a mate who just bought this car last night and it is being imported to Perth. Can't wait to see how good it goes. http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/?/au/...sp?StockID=3451
  12. Unfortunately the oppotunity is not there to be able to become trained in that sort of field. The only way you can become good at peformance mechanics is by learning off of your own back. For example I've just begun chipping my own ecu's as a starting point.
  13. Depends how far you want to go with your mods. If your going to stay with the current mods just get your ecu rechipped. If not on a budget a Greddy E-manage would be the cheapest stand alone option but an Apexi Power FC would be the best option overall. Do a search because there are plenty of options for ECU's these days. *edit* Actually I believe the power fc isnt compatiable with auto's but I think the Emanage is. There's also the option of fuel controllers like the SAFC or the Jaycar DFC if you don't want to buy a standalone
  14. Haha yeah I tried the bling approach without without much success. Just removing the mass rust from the factory brace. I lost it completely once on the first corner during the wet on my first qualifying lap much to the delight of the crowd ( hearing the cheers from them ) so I kept on the throttle and kept it sideways out of the grass. My main problem on that corner was that I would come out of the corner and ran out of lock and then dove towards the inside of the corner Sat most of the time on the limiter just punishing the tits off of my car but unfortunately my exhaust is so quiet that no one would even know.
  15. Nah mate that was me in the heavily underpowered white R32 and the only one out there without a FMIC . Ah well I had a cracking time out there, went hard but kept running out of lock most of the time which then threw me into the sand on the inside of the corner alot of the times. Made qualifying but got eliminated in a fairly close battle with the blue S13, took them about 5 mins to get a result out of them so must have been close call. Ah well not too bad considering it was only my second time out on the track after the first practice day.
  16. And where do you work Strich?

    Eagles

They only report on what the public wants to hear. If they put an advertisement on the front of todays paper saying "SWANS ARE THE BEST!!" I'm sure no one would buy the paper and the Sunday Times factory would curiously burn down over night.
  18. I'm in my second year heading into my third

    Go The Eagles!

I am going to fly to sydney and bash each and everyone of you sydney supporter's. What a fantastic display of free kicks at critical times. Was a very frustrating game to watch but the Eagles let themselves down at times, Gardiner was pathetic and certain key players didn't play there role correctly which added to the downfall of West Coast. West Coast should have won, it was a shame because they are by far a much better team than Sydney on there day. But it's a sign of things to come for the eagles however. Did you know the Eagles have the second youngest side in the competition (Geelong is the first) ? So I wouldn't rule them out as there is a lot of talent in that team and a lot of dedication lead by John Worsfold.
  20. Fuel economy hands down would go the Toyota Prius Hybrid
  21. Check the R32 Engine manual for max and min values as it should be in there. As for checking timing it doesn't matter whether you have the TPS connected or not. What are you using to check the TPS voltage? A multimeter? Also you do know that to check the timing you generally have to get your hands an ignition lead which is a bit difficult on a coil on plug ignition system. I use a CONSULT diagnostic tool which allows me to check many of the readings that the ecu shows. If you lived in Perth I could show you....
  22. More than likely belt tention for sure. Wurrring noises are generally always belts. Shuddering noises are generally caused by leaky power steering hoses and air in the power steering system.
  23. You would be better off putting an aftermarket panel filter in your airbox rather than think about putting a pod in one. The main problem being is that the air still has to flow down a restrictive passage (opening to airbox ) before it even makes it to the pod filter. The reason pod filters are more effective than airbox's is that they have more surface area to allow more air to be pulled through and into the motor with less restriction. As for legalities, pod filter's are legal modifications in all states (I believe so) and if you have any troubles just get a permit when (and you will due to it being a GTR) you get a defection sticker.
