Step by Step guide to getting your money back
Baz replied to Baz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
*sigh* On a different note, at least he has kept in contact and has had the money refunded to Ryan so I guess this is still a genuine deal going across with the right intentions. Just frustrating for so many reasons. Still positive though, Cheers -

What the heck is this creakin sound???
Baz replied to MsG_ChRiS's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just tightned all your underbody chassis bolts up. That should fix it. And cover the bolts in WD lube or synthetic grease. -
Found the solution to my problem. As a little bonus extra in my car when I imported it. An Rb25 turbo was fitted to it

Cheers mate Looks awesome! Damn got to get to it and start modifying it to look like that. Anyone else want to give it a crack? Feel free to do as you wish. Add to it whatever you feel like. I'm up for a bit of a laugh.

Hey just recieved my car recently and being still in stock form doesn't really look that great. If anyone has a spare few moments to have a go and toy around with my car that would be great Could you add a couple of things to it like bronze R34 rims (or something cool) , a different front bumper with FMIC and the bonnet I have on it changed to white or just changed completely to a white GTR bonnet with grill? Just so I can see what potential it has to look good . Other than that feel free to do as you wish. Cheers,

I just bought myself an Apexi EL gauge for $160 and am impressed with it. Its all a matter of looking around to find one at a good price. Check out the for sale section

Gas noise coming from rear shocks
Baz replied to Tommyk's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Shock absorbers don't make squeaking noises, they just leak fluid and sag. If the shocks were making the noise, you would notice a very substantial lose in height and response in one of your shocks. Bushes and ball joints make squeaking noises. If thats the case I wish you the best of luck trying to find out which one it is coming from because there definately not easy to diagnose. I would recommend you change all the bushes and ball joints to acelethane (is that how its spelt???) bushes as a solution to your problem and a performance upgrade. However this upgrade also transmits a lot more road noise into the car but gives the car a more firm feel. So it really wouldn't be a solution to your problem then I guess... I think I should stop talking now.... -
How much did they charge for the whole job is you don't mind me asking?

Not bad but how much of a gain would a catback and pod filter give? On top of that result? Because if it's a +15rwhp gain, we would still be be in the same problem again.

Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
Baz replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just out of curiosity what would an R33 turbo's boost pressure be running at on an RB20? With a pod and catback exhaust? -
Hey all, Came down for the dyno day, which was a rather good day if I say so myself and also put my car in on the dyno. This is the result I got on the dyno. Now even though that was the lowest power figure out of the all the turbo cars , it seems too high for a stock RB20DET with catback exhaust and pod filter. Converted to kw it is 144rwkw which is about 5-10kw higher than what it should be. Now I don't know much about dyno results and after checking out the latest version of HPI, there RB20DET with the same mods as me plus a FMIC made only 145rwkw which is 1kw more than mine. How can that be? One thing I noticed in difference between my dyno result and the HPI car is that there intake temperature was 19 degrees while mine was 45 degrees? Not sure how such a high difference in temperature could occur but could it have inflated my result to give an incorrect reading? Can anyone clear this up for me and any comments from the hyperdrive guys would be appreciated. Cheers, Scott

I believe my bonnet was closed when the dyno was being used. -

Baz replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So your saying that hyperdrive's dyno is giving a much higher reading than it should be? Also I was comparing my IT result to the HPI RB20DET and they had an intake temperature of 19 degrees. Would my high intake temp reading be enough to offset my actual power output? -

So there must be something that I am missing then because if I'm not mistaken I shouldn't be producing that amount of power considering the mods I have. Took the kick panel to see if the ecu was chipped or not. Nothing unusual about it just had the nissan sticker in the corner with a 22 printed in the LH top part of the sticker. Could be chipped but I wouldn't know until I actually removed the ecu and changed it with another one. What sort of things should I go looking for that may be hidden, giving me extra power? -

So what your saying is that there is no abnormal dyno errors that is making my result seem inflated? And that my result is correct? -
Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
Baz replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah I should have asked for the different printouts. Was reading the latest issue of HPI with the latest update for there R32 RB20DET. They just got there car dyno tuned and it produced 145rwkw. Mine produced 193hp which is about 144rwkw. Im trying to figure out why this is the case because with a 1rwkw difference they also have a FMIC and GTR injectors. Is there anything I should be looking for in case something is playing up and producing more power but at the same time damaging it? Like advanced timing? Running rich? Just want to get those things out of the way before going and looking for hidden mods which I havent discovered yet. Cheers -

Baz replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Haha of course. Didn't read the numerical value's and assumed it was the A/F ratio. I wasn't supplied with a A/F graph at the dyno day, should all dyno's supply an A/F ratio graph? Or on dyno days do they just throw the cars through only to test the rwhp output? -
Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
Baz replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Haha nah that was exactly how I recieved the car from Japan with just an airpod and catback exhaust with a straight through pipe added. No tuning involved, just put it on the dyno for two runs to see the power I recieved and thats what I got. Is that result unusually high? I thought that lower graph the one not showing the hp output was the A/F ratio? -
I'm unsure but I know that ps and hp are very very similar
