Light brown fluid leaking from the axle?
Baz replied to cowie165's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Differential Fluid..... It is really thick, brown in colour and has a very distinct smell. Take off your diff filler cap and have a look to see if it is similar to what is leaking. -
What is it to suit?

The only one I know of is where they do the driver training at the AHG driver training centre near the Perth International Airport. They have two skid pans setup and a track as well. The website is http://www.dtec.com.au . I believe the track is for hire but I really would not have a clue as I havent looked into it Cheers,

In my car which I recently got imported it came with a two compatible alpine headunits. One was a CD player (not MP3 I dont think) and the other one was an equaliser and Mini-disc player. All the speakers were removed prior to it being sold as well as a sub which was in the boot and also the aerial for the car (mounted in the boot i think?) Now my problem is that it wont read any CD's. I would imagine that if it could read it, it would start playing it like normally but wouldnt be able to with the absence of the speakers. It just attempts to read it and spits it back out. Is this a compatibility issue? In that japan discs are different to aus ones? Or would you think that it would be cheaper/better to just buy a new headunit, although i would really like to keep the one I have atm. Cheers,

Hey people, Looking to buy an R32 GTS-T aerial. I had mine removed when the spoiler was removed from the car back in Japan. Preferably a Perth seller if possible but interstate people are welcome. Cheers,

The "hand brake" light doesn't necessarily correspond to only when the handbrake is on or off. In some cars it switches the light on when the brake fluid is low and some other cars it comes on when there is an issue or problem with the brakes.

If its looks like the rubber is showing cracks or just has a dry feel to it just rub some vaseline into it, wipe it off and that should fix it. I havent tried it on car tyres before but it works like a charm on rubber exposed to dry conditions or the sun for ages. Gives it back its flexibility and smooth feel. Just a suggestion, not sure if it would work.

3 Years?! Thats a really long suspension. Errr.... mind if I ask what you actually did to get delt out intially such a large suspension period? That is a seriously long time.

I'll double check again but I think they were twin filament globes on the inner ones. Is there any other places that you could disconnect the inner park lights from? Ie. is there a fuse for them? (i highly doubt it though )

Bah I went to Nissan today and paid $63 for a bloody steering rack boot! Talk about a complete ripoff considering boots normally cost around $20 and I couldn't find a non-genuine one. Wasn't impressed

The japs have a weird way of thinking lol Just wondering has anyone ever come across an issue when the outter tail lights only work when the headlights are on but all lights come on when the brakes are engaged? It's obviously intentional. I checked the globes, they were fine and were twin filament and the wiring around the tail light seemed ok. Has anyone ever come across something like this and where they could possible trip the wire so that they only come on when braking? Cheers,

Importing problems arise
Baz replied to Remix-'s topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
No worries. Will remember for future reference. It's just that, "that individual" has screwed around with 2 other people I know atm as well as myself and he is not a very honest person. Quoting what someone said earlier "He is a car dealer, with no risks involved". You can probably understand my frustration. -
Mark 1 and Series 1 are the same thing. The Mark 2 was released very late 04'

Geoff I had no issue with at all. Offered a great service, I got plenty of cars emailed to me every day in a nice neat package to bid on at auction. Any questions I asked he answered promply and if it was serious enough he rang me. I definately enjoyed the service and wouldn't mind using him again in the future. [Name removed] however my supplier though who apparently outbided me at an auction and then sold the same car to me at a price less than what my bid limit was originally, had my worries from day one. He failed to get my car on the ship at a slower pace than other people who bought skylines on this forum. He also failed to supply me the "Bill of Lading" almost 3 weeks after the car had landed in Australia. The car also had significantly more rust on it than otherwise stated in areas where it couldnt have ocured during transit. Oh yeah and it had 4 bald tyres when it was specifically noted "With good tread". I think he needs to either commit to being a supplier rather than it being a weekend job and being an english teacher during the weekdays. I will not use him ever again in the future and would heavily discourage anyone else to use him either, not due to the condition of my car but rather due to the lack of after sale support which I was disgusted by. All the other businesses recommended by geoff have been helpful and reasonably well priced so far. Thats my opinon anyway. -
Will it make my car go faster?

Importing problems arise
Baz replied to Remix-'s topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I went through that 'same' broker and his regular supplier [Please no names] . They asked me to pay the fee of $371 for the storage fee's, I decided to wait for the car to arrive instead. I got 4 bald tyres when I was told it had good tread left and a good body covered in surface rust. As far as I'm concerned they can go shove the fee up there A$$es. From experience I believe that you should refuse to pay the fee until you have seen the car itself and totally avoid using 'that' supplier. I will never use him again and I would hope that no one buys cars from him in the future as from what I have heard very few of his cars come in an 'as mentioned' condition and he is terrible with after sales support (got my Bill of Lading 3 weeks after the car had arrived, was told it was going to be supplied prior to the vehicle landing in fremantle). Mark Hocking is apparently a good salesman from what I have heard. Thats my opinon anyway. -
Damn... so very tempting. There the exact size im after as well brand and rim. Too bad there not in bronze as I would have snapped them up without no hesitation.
