  1. Good guide mate.. I was actually considering doing a guide myself when I installed this pump into my R32 the other week. I ended up chopping the L shaped bracket straight off on my car and then trimmed the fuel line bit by bit like you did until it sat just off the bottom on the tank to ensure I got maximum usage of the fuel tank.

    Also if you dont want fuel to go everywhere, remove the fuel pump fuse under the dash and start the car until it runs out of fuel. That way you won't spill fuel everywhere when you remove the hose.

  2. Buy one of the defi style autogauge gauges. They are electronic and are of good quality. No you dont need to remove the vacuum line and t-piece from the engine bay. The vacuum hose will need to go to the sender for the electronic gauge and then the wiring run to the back of the gauge.

  3. If it's sitting on 5psi with the car turned off there is obviously only a problem with just the gauge. My apexi ELII gauge is mechanical and sits just above the 0. If you want an acurate gauge get an electronic gauge rather than a mechanical one.

  4. What a ridiculous thing to do. IMO if you are buying an R34 GTR you buy it for the package and the fact that it is a R34 GTR and that it comes as with the RB26 which is already a capable motor. I can see that sort of conversion fitting well in a R32 GTR but in a R34 GTR it is just stupid. People with too much money I say.

  5. I don't see how an additive can make such a dramatic decrease in coolant temperature. Do not use the red coolant because green coolant was originally used from factory. Use nissan coolant and you can't go wrong. Also make sure you flush your coolant out properly and not just by dumping all the coolant out through the bottom of the radiator. Take off one of your heater hoses near the top of the firewall and stick a hose down it until fresh water starts coming out, then fill it up with coolant through the heater hose again. Then bleed it properly with the heater turned on, and bleed bolt off to get rid of any air in the system.

  6. Simple question but i'll ask anyway.

    Did you soldier the wires together for the speakers? Or just wrap it together and wrap it in electrical tape? I've seen these problems happen again and again because people arent soldiering the wires together and/or not putting electrical tape around it

  7. Bollocks, I've seen some compliance companies buy absolute rubbish cars with accident damage beacuse they can comply em on the sly and get away with it... (give engineer a bottle of scotch, turn him around 6 times and suddenly you've got a signature on the compliance paperwork).... then they turn it around and sell it to clients as totally pristine cars. Also most compliance workshops use japanese agents to buy cars from... just like everyone else.

    Hence for that reason you should always use a well known and reliable workshop. Compliance workshops normally use the same agents over and over again to source them cars. So it is in the best interest of the agent not to find the cheapest car but the ones of best quality to ensure that they continue to be used.

    In the case that the car arrives in terrible condition you have the workshop to be held responsible for incorrect information being supplied to the customer. A certain internet company (not j-spec) that many of my friends have bought R32's through have recieved cars with blown motors, blown turbo's, missing parts and severe amounts of rust. That said it was complied under the old 15 year rule, which allowd a lot of dodgy car's to make there way onto australian roads.

    Yes I have seen cars been put on road by dodgy compliance companies but that said, a car imported by the workshop and then sold in australia abides under australian law. Also you can also get a third party inspection to ensure the car is in good condition. But when it's bought through an internet company, most of these companies have there contracts set so that if a car arrives in a different condition to the information supplied to there customer they cannot be held liable.

  8. This is the reason why you should always purchase cars through a compliance workshop rather than through one of the internet companies. While they offer good cars from time to time, in most cases it is too good to be true and car's are coming over with damage and missing parts they should have had. Buying car's through a compliance workshop in most cases works out to be cheaper and you can ensure that you will get a decent car, otherwise you have someone else to hold responsible for it.

  9. I'm not really sure, but I reken the best way to look at it is to compare the difference between the non-turbo and turbo gearboxes across the nissan range. RB30E to RB30ET and RB25DE and RB25DET.

    If you can't find any information comparing the RB20DE to the DET gearbox then try and find some information on the differences between the gearboxes listed above to try and give you some indication.
