Intercooler Modification ... Who Does This?
mr_crust replied to Scooby_Steve's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
remove the wheel arch n cut a hole ..if u unscrew the washer bottle , u will c it doesnt interfer with the cooler pipes at all. u only have to relocate a small braket holding a few electrical things to anotehr screw 4 cm back.. -
Cutting Bit Of Fan Dor Cooler Piping
mr_crust replied to mr_r33gtst's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i was told i needed to cut them aswell, but i was worried it would out balances the fan.. also a good mechanic i know recommended not to do it, unlike so many people have.. but i managed to fit my kit to tight that i sits over the fan and didnt have to cut the blades at all ..ill get a pic later on -
Manuals Here is a site i came across with links to all different aftermarket manuals such as hks, apexi, greedy etc
-
This was done on an r33, to cut the whole look at the first photo, this is from the drivers side front guard..this is where you should cut the whole. To do this properly use a 76mm (3 Inch)whole saw. Then put a rubber ring inside it, to stop vibrations and to stop it rubbing metal to metal. If you dont have an rubber ring get a piece of electrical wire, strip it and cut the cord in half n put it on the whole Once the whole is cut, make sure u prime it as well so it wont rust

thats the one i purchased..compared to ebay shops charging 250 for the same thing, i think i done alright.. and no rsm comes with the g sensor standard, u gotta buy it as an option. This only adds a few extra options to the rsm, but i might grab one as they are only 50 bux

thanks mate, but that is different to the one i brought ur instructions.. i found the instructions on apexis web site..thanks again paul

the answer is in my PM's thanks to grigor, thanks again mate. And for anyone who wants to know, if you unclip the inner guards u can unclip them from the back, or pry them off from the front from the side closer to the wheel. Cheers

i fitted my cooler over the wkend and i had to undo the two bolts on each side of the re inforcemnet bar n lift it slightly foward to get my cooler to site right... Also to get it in with a stock front bar i had to cut out around the mouldings in the centre (where the actual cooler sits) and under the spot lights/blinkers i cut out a around 80mm out so the piping could run properly and the front bar sits as per factory
