yeah thats true, except my sub is freely moving around the boot at the moment, the other stuff is not in the way, i am still yet to design and build an appropriate method of holding the sub in, not affecting the access to the spare tyre. I will think of something.

pics?

After a lot of pain and little things that needed fixing here and there i have finished my custom amp install, i have relocated the battery and put the two amps next to each other on a slide out tray for configuration, etc. Pics can be seen below http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp...mp/DSC00012.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp...mp/DSC00013.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp...mp/DSC00014.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp...mp/DSC00015.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp...mp/DSC00016.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp...mp/DSC00017.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp...mp/DSC00018.jpg I still have to secure the sub and sort out a bit of the wiring but other than that i am happy with the results. Water sitting in cylinder 3 above spark plug
skyliner33wa replied to skyliner33wa's topic in General Maintenance
thanks all, yeah i dried it out and it is now driving fine, i think it got in there when it was degreased, all i can say is i don't think i will get the engine degreased anymore! -
Hi, As i have posted earlier, i have been having probs with my series 1 R33 GTST, was going to get it looked at but could not get the car in anywhere i decided to have a look at the spark plugs as a week before the problems (would stutter and shudder when trying to drive) i had the car serviced by my sisters bf, he is a mechanic, he degreased the engine as well, anyway i pulled the coil packs off of the first three cylinders and found water sitting in cylinder 3 looked like it has not gotten past the spark plug. The plug is corroded and the coil pack has a bit of corrosion on it. Would this be the root of my problems, would the water have gotten past the spark plug? and would that coil pack now be ****ed? How would i go about this now, should i leave the water to evaporate (which looks like it is doing atm) remove the spark plug and replace it? then take it for a drive? Thanks Kris

what was the prob with his car?

Hi guys, I was wondering if there is anyone who specializes in imports, who i can take my car to this week sometime, i know it's new year coming up, but after my car was sitting in a garage waiting to be looked at, i had enough and brought it home. It's been happening for a little while now, it would be driving fine then whilst driving normally, it will shudder every so often, the performance of my skyline has been lost, it is driving like a pig. Any help would be appreciated Cheers Kris

hi all, I recently removed my park lights and put indicators where they were instead. The only problem now is the old indicators in the front bar where 21 watt each, whereas the new ones are 10 watt each. I know that if there is a current drop, or gain they flash fash, but how would i go about fixing this, can i use some sort of resistor. Anyone have any ideas? cheers Kris

hidden cause i'd probably like to keep them, i mean, i couldn't put them anywhere else, they wont really be hidden when i have finished, i will post pics later and show you what i mean
-
thanks guys, well i'm almost finished, i have carpeted the whole lot and neatened it up. I am now going to put some tesrol (plastic checkerplate, looks very realistic) up against it, and some perspex in front of that, possibly with the word "Alpine" etched into the perspex, then light the perspex up with some blue leds, the word alpine should light up blue then, if anyone wants plans for it i would be more than happy to supply them to you. will have some more pics soon! Well, after trying to figure out where the hell to put em, i decided to make a custom shelf in the boot, with the amps on runners. Mind you it is no where near complete, still got ot carpet the mdf, and redo all the wiring, what do you think? http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp/1.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp/2.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp/3.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp/4.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp/5.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/amp/6.jpg Kris

skyliner33wa replied to skyliner33wa's topic in General Maintenance

Does anyone know where in perth i can find a place that can make seals. the seal just above my windscreen wipers between the glass and plastic, has shrunk and is coming up. My old R33 was the same, just want to fix it thats all, i'm pretty sure it is a common problem Thanks Kris

Sorry, I know this has probably been asked before but i just installed my boost guage and took the car for a run, i'm getting 13psi, and when idle 18 Vacuum, i don't think this is right, cause i didn't think i was running that much boost. Please can anyone tell me if i have installed this right, i do have a bleed valve and the previous owner was playing with it thanks kris http://users.bigpond.net.au/skyliner33/hpim0326.jpg

Well took it to an alarm place, the Ultra Sonic sensors were to sensative, last night, i had a good sleep without the alarm going off! Only problem is that, the interior light does not stay on for about 15 seconds as it used to when disarming the alarm, i asked the alarm guy and he said after calling laserline, they told him that when the alarm is disarmed, there is only a switched voltage sent to the interior light, then the interior light delay then should take over, he said my interior light delay must be stuffed in my car, Do skylines have these if so where would i expect to find it. Thanks in advance

well, it happened again!!!!!!! The alarm went off at 12:30 this morning, it went off then stopped then about 2 minutes later it wqent off again, nothing was out there again, so i have no idea what is going on. I had to disarm the alarm and leave it disarmed!!!! can anyone help, or should i take it to an alarm place? cheers Kris
-
cheers guys thanks for your replies, i thought that was the case, but it still does not explain the interior light not staying on when disarming the alarm Kris

Hi all, I got a bit of a weird problem with my alarm on my car, the car battery has been playing up recently (have radio running for 20 mins (no subs or amps) and battery goes flat). Over the past few days i will be woken up at about 2:30 - 3:00am in the morning to my alarm going off after going to investigate (car is in a locked garage) their is nothing wrong, the sensor light outside isn't even on, so no one is out their, i disarm, rearm then it's fine. It is a Laserline alarm with ultrasonic sensors and shock sensors, it is not the stupid cat either, cause its never set it off, could this be related to the dodgy battery? I have replaced the battery this morning so i will see what happens tonight - only happens at night!!! Also been noticing while having headlights on and reving enging the lights would go a little brighter, i think the cars electrical sys is a little dodgy cause also now the interior light - which used to come on when alarm disarmed, just flashes on and off!!!! Anyone help, with suggections, etc..? Kris
