Yeah i found a nice skyline, just wanna get it checked, thanks for that G0DF4Th3R and gtrKen, i didn't know Speedworks was in Ossie park, conveniently the seller and I both work in ossie park Nah, I've sorta canned that idea, purely cause it was going to take to long, too much hassle, and considering i could get a turbo car with selling mine and using the money that was going to be used on the engine. I change my mind too much!!! Kris

N/A to Turbo conversion - The big move
skyliner33wa replied to skyliner33wa's topic in Western Australia
yes well that may be true, but back when i got my GTS i could not afford insurance. Now i can but have loans outstanding, and rather than sell my car (which i have tried and failed) i thought i might convert it, it gives me something to do, and i like my car anyway. -
Well, i have finally decided and put a deposit down on an engine conversion kit for my N/A R33, I will be getting the engine from Just Jap, and with 31,000Km's on the clock, i think that i have done pretty well , the only problem is now i have to wait!!!! The half cut is still coming in from Japan and will be in Sydney in a few weeks after that, it needs to be pulled apart and freighted here Anyone in WA ever done a conversion? Also without an LSD will i be missing out on much, and with the rear hubs not being changed (from 4 stud to 5 stud) will this be an issue (my rims are 4/5 stud type rims so that doesn't really cause an issue), should i just by the rear hub assy, and brakes to keep it consistant with the front? Thanks, pretty excited, but won't be excited until i'm behind the wheel of my car with the new engine. Kris

R33 Halfcut or RB25DET engine with gearbox
skyliner33wa replied to skyliner33wa's topic in Wanted to Buy
it was up two days ago, doesn't matter now, i am going to buy an "engine conversion kit" for $6000, its so expensive cause its in such good condition, 31000km's on it only anyways, thanks Kris -
yeah, thats what i meant, should be getting the whole instrument cluster with it, thanks crooser kris
-
Thanks crooser, i actually read your post on your conversion good job. I aint really mechanically minded, i won't be doing it by myself. I will be getting the following "To give you an idea of price a general mechanical type RB25det conversion such as complete engine with mounts and crossmember and transmission with mount and crossmember,Turbo dump pipe and engine pipe engine wiring, engine computer, air flow meter, intercooler and intercooler plumbing, radiator fan, tailshaft or yoak.." is this enough?, when you say only the speedo needs changing you mean the whole dials (fuel, tacho, temp, boost, etc..) right? and everything else will be cool? thanks crooser Kris

Hi All, Firstly, i hope i'm in the right part of the forums, if not sorry. I am considering buying an "engine conversion kit" for my skyline after failing to sell it to buy a turbo, and after reconsidering (will cost me a lot less for a conversion) How hard is it to do the conversion, if i got the dash, engine, gearbox, ecu, and whatever else is required. Is it a straight swap or do things need to be modified as my sisters boyfriend whos is a mechanic and i am going to do it. Just want as much info before attempting to do it and finding out i need more parts, etc.. Thanks in advance :uh-huh: Kris

I'm after either an R33 front cut, don't care what year, prefer the engine to have low km's, or an RB25DET engine with gearbox Can anyone Help? Thanks Kris

Removing STD R33 Steering Wheel S1
skyliner33wa replied to skyliner33wa's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Thanks guys for your replies, i didn't need to take the wheel of, i ended up getting the dash out without having the wheel being in the way. I took out my face dials and tested it just to the battery, nup didn't work, i think it's stuffed, only prob is i need to take the white face dials off the original dials, its stuck on hard -
Hi Guys, I am trying to remove my steering in my car so i can take the dash apart without the steering wheel being in the way. I have taken off the front cover and removed the gold nut, but it still feels like it's on rock solid. The reason why i want to remove the dash is cause my white face dials aren't working no more since replacing my headlights with the super white ones, the face dials will work intermitantly, sometimes staying off for ages, other times going on and off. it doesn't affect my headlights or anything, and it is not related to going over bumps etc.. can anyone help? thanks Kris

hope this is the right section; anyone seen this car, i think i will service my car myself now! http://www.boostn247.com/spa200/ Kris
