Most of us are runing pods and larger exhausts. While others are running even bigger turbos, larger fuel pumps and different ECU tunning. Even the odd gutted cat (pack the panadol for the headaches), its not worth it. This can change the emissions from the factory limits which should meet the Australian standards. Any one been pulled up for an emissions check in Qld? Anyone else from other states been pulled over by their EPA/police/Department of transport? Did you pass or fail, did you have to get a retest? It would be a pain in the arse to have to change all your mods back to standard, espically turbo and ECU mods. I think it is one of those things that is just around the corner, espically looking at the cahnges to some of the import regulations Maybe dual fuel mapping is the key ...one for emissions/fuel, one for serious power...

the previous owner fitted the APEXI pod on my car, its due for a clean I was going to rinse it degreaser, fresh water and use the K&N oil even though its a mesh filter. Had a mesh K&N air box filter on my previous car and this worked fine

The 300ZX is a nice car ..... but weighs in at around 1500-1600kg Silver-Arrowz is right, most articles on modified 300zxs stress how tight the working area is in the engine bay. (either a pain in the arse if you are doing it your self or more expensive in labour) The R32-R33 skylines weigh around 1200-1300kg and I reckon look better (not as dated) and there is a lot more performance parts in Australia for them. :alcoholic

Suspension tunning vs ride height

Thanks guys I am not sure if anyone actually tuned the suspension before, its likely the car was just dumped..... so even though it might only be raised slightly (1"-3") at least I would know it was done properly ... I am pretty sure it hits the bump stops every so often losing the negative rear camber drift set up will be great for the track and wet weather ...... still love the sideways motion though ... so hopefully there could be a compromise or maybe a need for more power ..... -
I need to raise my car by 5-10cm. The front bar is too low. I was keen to do it my self, as I have height adjustable coil overs, but I dont have any C spanners (I don't like using a hammer and a screw driver). I was going to get a shop to do it, to adjust the ride height it would take them about an hour@ $69/hour. I was then told this would only effect the looks (and save the front bar). to retain or improve the handling the supsension would need to be balanced using weights , which would take about 3 hours @ $69/hour. Question: Has anyone else had their suspension tunned and was it worth it?

After a boot lip spoiler for an R33 Gts-25t it would be great if its white and bolts into the factory holes. Could trade the existing higher wing.

The great thing about the car is it has the right compoents, espically the Tein suspension, which I really enjoy it seems to bring out the best in a range of cars. I really want a car to handle before full on power is brought into it ! -

rev210 the car was running 0.8 bar but felt as strong as another 94 also running a 3 inch turbo back but running 1.0 Bar ..... Still hard call an extra $2000 to $5000 for the quality ie a FMIC and maybe a power fc future plans for the car I end up buying will be the usual FMIC new ECU upgraded fuel sys & different turbo (unless I can find a well priced car that has all this done already) -

Its a private sale, the person brought the car over with them.... cars complied and been driven over the last year ot two Not sure if I am keen on the hassle of importing a car ...... -

Found a 94 R33 GST-t which I’m interested in, excellent condition, tein suspension, 60 000kms white, subtle body kit, after market diff, 3inch exhaust off the turbo, 17 inch and a couple of extras … the price is $24000 I have looked and driven others priced between $19000 and $22000 (the price range I was looking in) some with similar mods. Any comments on the $24000? I feel it’s a bit high, but the car has great feel about and the quality is the best I have seen so far.

The Power FC seems like a great option on paper and from what you guys are saying ... (It would be interesting to see a comparision between simlar mod R33s, one runing a power FC and one running Autronic) I have heard some people have had some intial problems running the Power FC with a non APEX boost controler (not sure if just a bleed valve or anonther eletronic boost unit) Does any one know if this is the case?

Thanks guys damm right about the newbie, went for my first drive in one on Sunday, after checking out modifed 180sx etc ... previously owned turbo fours and a rotary ..... Really enjoy the ride and potential of the R33 .... have started pricing some goodies at JMS to help with the choices -
Looking for a R33 Gtst at the moment I have been trying to find out if there any major differences between the series 1 or series 2 R33, or years ie 93 compared to the 95 M spec. (Could n't find this info on the forum, sorry if this question has been asked before)
