You can do what I want to do, leave the stock BOV in the normal place but with a blanking plate, then mount your cool sounding BOV somewhere out of sight. Because I have FMIC pipes going all over the place I have space inside the front wheel arch (under the radiator overflow bottle where you cant see it unless its up on a hoist). Sneaky

Best way to get the boost response you describe is to go some sort of electric boost conroller. It will hold the wastegate shut untill it reaches your set level (Without the creep you get with cheep-o bleed valves)

Keen for the driver side window switches if you have them.

If you just wanted to flush it, without draining the whole lot first then undo the top pipe and let it drain as the engine is running. Fill the rad with water from the hose untill the water leaving the car turns clear. Dont forget to add a few litres of coolant at the end and bleed the air out of the valve at the top o fthe head

There is a product somewhere I have heard of that you can use to coat the inside of problem fuel tanks. If you can botch the rust repair (dosent have to be perfect) and use this stuff it should help. Its like resin you put in and slosh around to coat the insides and is not affected by fuel and not harmfull to the engine.

You got the right idea, but your all backwards. The engine is sucking on the intake plenum like a guy sucking up a thickshake with a straw. The harder the guy sucks, the more vacuum is created. (The more resistance on the intake side of the engine, the more vacuum is made.) When the throttlebody is only cracked open a little and the car is cruising along, its not sucking in that much air, hence less vacuume will show because the guage will be getting closer and closer to 1 bar(omatric) unit of pressure, which is 14.7psi, depending on your altitude of course.

Good luck man, doubt your find any. You will only pry them away from an owners dead fingers, or if they write off their line in an accident. Call the wreckers because they normally have a good selection of extra parts from wrecked ones.
