HICAS light turning on????
Jordan replied to mattysaidso's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I never really noticed or felt the ATTESA working on mine. My bro thinks its what makes it squirm around in the wet when driving over standing water, but I keep telling him that its aquaplaning cause the rear tyres are too worn  -
Just put a guage thru the window and sit it on the dash in a towel temporarily. Dont mount it if you dont want to. Alternatly put it in the glovebox so you can see it when its open

18" Rays TE37 for ECR33 Very Cheap!!
Jordan replied to sl1212's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
He said 20% left on tyres, so you would prob replace them soon anyways. -
If I leave now, I might not catch you guys ( I'm in syd btw )

If you are flicking the lights on yourself while the RWC guys are checking the lights, you can put the lights to HB and then pull the flasher halfway at the same time. The Driving lights dont turn off unless the flasher is pulled forward all the way. I can make my car wink or just flash a single high beam by how soft you pull it Oh, and I heard its the same for rear tailights. The inners shouldnt be lit unless braking, only the outers should be on as the drivers. This sucks cause you loose the distinctive double lights at night, but apperenty the australian delivered R32 GTRs were made to do this but I havent seen it enforced, yet >.>

Are they legal? I have a Rocket pod mount for a guage on my pillar, I have it stuck on with adhesive tape because I have to pull it off every year for rego (Its above and forward of the wheel, its dangerous, etc). Is it different if its one whole piece?

Are Police scanners still viable in NSW or has everything gone digital/encripted now with the MDT datastream? I believe only the local police stations back channels stay unencripted since it itsnt info sent thru the network. Last interesting thing I heard on my scanner was the Marrickville Station getting a unit to do a KFC run before going back to base

I just did a google image search, had trouble

I saw its best to disconnect the top pipe, have the engine running at idle, and just fill the radiator with the garden hose at the same rate that it empties. When the water coming out turns clear its done. Let the radiator empty a little so theres space for the coolant. I wonder how UAS do a flush? I read on their site that they only use demineralised water, dosent come from the tap

R32 GTR Full Workshop Manual and 400R badge
Jordan replied to Tracka's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
yeah, my kit needs a badge at the front, was thinking of an East Bear one. -
Saw a nice one, but its GTS with the big red R underneath. I think its East Bear emblem. Talk to Powerplay they had heaps there for $20 (or so, cant remember)

I lost the globe in the boot of mine, and now I actually want to get the boot light going and I couldnt find the bulb anymore I didnt take it out myself, but all I could find was a blade type socket which was empty, I guess thats where the bulb goes I take it, must be a funny looking bulb
-
I got one from Powerplay, $20 each? I actually got a chromed one for $10 cause it was second hand on the shelf, it dosent match the other GT badge but I dont care, it covers the hole where my old one used to be.

When I first got my car, it had a rotating inlay on the indicator stalk, similar to the intermittent wiper 'rotating bit' on the wiper stalk. The one I'm refering to was like the indicator stalk was wearing a ring with 2 positions. I assume it was a Fog-light switch but I'm not too sure because it came with a non-standard bar and I have since replaced the whole stalk assembly (it just started to click and short out one day) to another set that was identical but without the fog-light thingy. When I looked at another mates r33 gts-t he had the standard bar with the foggies, but when I looked closer I noticed that there was only a reflector behind the glass, and no bulbs. He didnt have the fog-light ring thing on his stalk

My accident and the offer they made me. *Long*
Jordan replied to Abo Bob's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The damage being repaired was cosmetic, chips and scrapes and gouges. I would get my wheels repaired like that without hesitation because the wheels are still structually intact. If the wheel had (say) broken in half, and they then proceeded to rewelded those two halves back together, THEN I wouldnt trust driving on them. If its just a cosmetic touch up then you shouldnt worry about it, just make sure its ballanced before putting it back on the car. -
I've been wanting an Engine Damper for ages, but I havent come across any in my travels yet, only in pictures in magazines

What has the dash lights have to do with people high beaming him? On that note, I dont know if it was just my compliers, but my dash dimmer (a variable resistor pot near the drivers knee under the dash, stupid place to put it) seems to be directly wired to my tailights. When my dash is dimmed to no light, my tail driving lights go out too. front beams are unnafected. Good for running away from the cops but still an issue that bugs me.

When Bros Sude was nicked, they much have had it all staked out. Our apartment has lockup garages under the building which we keep closed but not locked, but the cars inside were locked and alarmed. The alarm was a Python with the remote start feature. The alarm had been going off very now and then in the middle of the night previously, which we thought was just wind. We would normally just hit the Disarm/Rearm and go back to sleep. On the I was out on the balcony watching shady people lurking about in the garden/driveway, I called out to one but they didnt look up or acknowledge me at all, about 3 were visible inside and outside the compound. Bro came out and had a look too, but we thought that nothing bad was going to happen, I asked him if the car was locked, he said yeah it wasn. When the alarm went off he started to freak, I didnt think much of it since I thought it would be ok since its a Python alarm. But after about 5 mins the alarm stopped and the engine started. Bro came back out to the balcony and told me to call the cops cause he cottoned on that they were here to steal the car. One of the hoods downstairs signalled to the red WRX in next door's driveway and the proceeded to break down the gate (Well, they backed into the gate slowly untill it came off its rail, then 3 punks pulled it outward and bent the supports enough to get the cars out past what was left standing of the gate), and drive away with his baby. After calling the 5-O I went down to the garage with my 2 largest butchers knives and inspected the immediate area for lingerers (none to be found unfortunatly). There was what was left of his center grill lying in the carport and that was it. Appears they poped out the grill and opened the bonnet to get at and disable the alarm/siren. They myst then have jimmied the drivers door (no broken glass) and done something to the ignition. The steering column was ripped out and the key barrel was modified and broken (It wasnt a replacement barrel, but all the pins were broken so it only took a screwdriver to start it, the immobiliser must have been disabled in the 5mins or so that they had access to it. They must have been stalking the place for a time before and I assume that the times in the week or so previous when the car alarm went off in the middle of the night they were down there checking out the car and the alarm (the pythons have that crap cycling noises, siren, woop woop, beep beep, wee-ooo wee-oo, etc. highly annoying and very distinctive) so they would have known exactly how these alarms were installed and they were very well prepared. They didnt leave any tools behind or in the car. The insurance company make it an economical write off and auctioned it. The bidding on it was harsh and loud arguments broke out over it I recall, dodgy effnick types scraping for a bargain I bet. Stupid Auction House sold it "as is" and they would let us take anything out of it. The only thing we got back was the e-tag.
