Identify this mystery factory speaker
Jordan replied to LBR33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I cant see the attachment, but I'm sure I know what your talking about. Its a speaker that is supposed to go "beep-beep" when you open and close the locks using the factory Nissan remote. Mine stopped working when I got the new alarm system put in. I miss it, my new alarm is a total waste of money and I cant revert it back since they lost my factory keyfob :'( -
I got done for this also, on the Slip I was given to take to the Mechanics, I need to have a "standard airbox", but the officer told me that its ok as long as its enclosed. confusing.
-
I heard also. New Bat-Dude and Morgan Freedman have both signed on for at least one sequel. Katie Holmes wasnt offered a spot because she was "not a strong enough actor" to which I agree with fully.

Late reply D: I got done for bald insides on the rear tyres, they didnt even ask to look under the hood surprisingly. The second officer actually came up to the window and asked if I was involved with any illegal activity, or if I had scanners in my car. Pfft. anyway $78 fine and no points, I'm not complaining. They got me at a good time though as the day after one of them blew out and I have been riding on my space saver for the last 2 weeks. Sure stands out with that thing on. Its like walking around wearing a bright yellow life preserver.

yes, I like the idea. maybe some big vendors can come also and show their wares? A Japanese-import flea-market. Will have to arange for a public space with a council somewhere first, or else just meet up in the dead of night Wangan-style

I want to ride one, but I have a big ass. Whats the Max load rating for the rider? I cant even ride a Foot-scooter cause its only rated at 100kg

Um, break it?

replace the 3 Allen key bolts with thumb-screws like you can get on the back of computer cases and you have a winner. I'd deftinatly appreciate not having to pull out the Allen's every time I want to get into it, less tools the better. Where in the Valley are you? I havent seen you around and your car is almost identical to mine.

blowing air bubbles in overflow tank
Jordan replied to lismo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I had a leak in the engine somewhere that I didnt get fixed for 2 months. I was carrying 8 litres or water around with me in the back seat and I had to keep pulling over and filling it up. (I could tell when it was empty because the engine started to heat up and the guage started rising). I thought it was one of the welsh plugs, but it ended up being a 10cm bit of hose right in the back of the engine down near the starter motor. -
What on earth do you need a factory boot for if you already have a nice new black leather one?
-
People are asking silly questions. The space-saver is designed for your car. Its designed to fit on front or the back of the car, and on either the left or the right. Yes it clears the calipers, and the rolling diameter of the wheel is unaffected, if you DO have larger back tyres with a larger diameter, its not like you will be driving down the road with one of the wheels not touching the ground because of difference in wheel sizes. I have used the space saver on my car many times already, front and back, left and right.
-
why do you want to take the spare off for? not like you need the extra boot space. You can put it on any side of the car you want. If its the difference between driving home at ~80kph with a slight lean to one of the corners, as opposed to paying for a flatbed to tow you home. Just leave it where it is and be glad you have a spare and use it when you get a flat. Not like it weighs that much anyway.

blowing air bubbles in overflow tank
Jordan replied to lismo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Now when this was happening to me in my skyline I was stumped, I couldnt work out how the water was getting from the radiator to the overflow, and back again If you look at a standard radiator cap, it says 90 somewhere on the top. That number is the pressure in Kpa that the radiator cap is set to allow pressure to escape down to the overflow tube to the overflow tank. This is a one way thing and kinda works like a pressure relief valve. In fact thats exactly what it is, a valve. Now the if you look closely at the bottom of the radiator cap, there is a small return valve and piston that you can hook your fingernails around and pull downwards on a spring. This bit is the exact opposite of the outgoing pressure relief valve, it allows liquid to pass back under vacuum. If you look at the Overflow bottle, it has a vent at the top that allows it to release gas into the atmosphere. After driving around and the engine is cooling down and the pressure in the radiator drops it will go from positive pressure to a vacuum. What happens is that this vacuum will suck what liquid is left from the overflow bottle back into the radiator so that it is ready for the next time you take it out for a drive. In practice the radiator is never empty, and it never has air introduced into the system. Everything is hunky-dory. Ok, now heres what it really means. While your driving around, and you notice the overflow bottle is bubbling away, its not the bottle itself boiling, its just passing the superheated steam (which has increased the pressure in the radiator to 90+kpa) from the tube at the bottom of the tank. Since most of the water is probably been pushed into the overflow valve already then all you are getting is the leftover pressurised gas escaping from the top of the radiator tank thru the cap. So the bubbling is coming from the radiator, duh. But is it doing it because of a bad pressure spring in the cap? Pressure coming into the cooling system from engine combustion? or the water is leaking out from somewhere, introducing air (sucked in via vacuum thru the cap from the vented overflow bottle which has already been sucked dry) and letting the engine overheat and boil, creating more steam. This last one was only realised by me after refilling my empty overflow bottle from water containers I had to keep in the back of the car. Take it to a mechanic to test and check it for you. They can also clip something over the radiator and pressure test the whole system for leaks, and testing the valves in the radiator cap also. It could be something simple. -
1990 Nissan Patrol with RB30ET for sale!

I wonder if a GTR engine will go in there? -
On an R33 since you wont be cutting holes, You would have to route the cables along the base of the windscreen somehow with some black conduit or something. Would love to see one fitted, I'll be happy to get rid of my pillar guage. (single 60mm pod, $60 from Rocket Industries)
