i am planning to buy a second hand engine either at the wreckers or private. i like to know what to check and how to check for the condition of the engine. Also what should be change before putting a different engine in. all belt, water pump? thanks guys and gals

the whole engine is flooded with leaks, i can't believe the last owner. since owning the car i realised the car has had a hard and neglected life but thanks for the advice boot_it

i had a look at the radiator coolant and theres no white or milky residue, only tiny bubbles and dipstick tip is just oil..... dirty dirty dark oil, i m changing the oil this easter break.

its a CA18det, the coolant disappears quick, idles rough, timings out and bubbles in the radiator. Are these the symtoms of head gasket or are there anything else that i could test to see if the gasket is gone. thanks guys

Need money to finished the renovation to the house, sick of living with tools, dust, oven, cooktop, dirty sheets and boxes around the house, been like this for the past 14 months, so looking at downgrading for a cheaper car and fix up the house. However if anyone has a BMW E36 3series coupe then i might be tempted to swap with some adjustment -156xxx kms -FIMC (Micks Metal Craft) 600 X 300 X 75 with full alloy pipes -Its a manual converted -HKS T3G turbo kit -Pod filter -Hks BOV -3" exhaust with a 4 1/2" tip -Front tein adjustable suspension, rear Supra Bilstein yellow shocks. -Oil changed regularly -Car dynoed at 230rwkw with factory intercooler when i bought the car. -Bomex front bar -some brand side skirts -Factory bootlit spoiler -94+ rear taillights -Light weight Genova forged Magnesium 18x9.5 235 tyres, 18x10 265 tyres, they were change recently. -Rolled rear guards. -Blitz boost gauge -Razo turbo timer -SR2 Recaro driver seat, electric passenger -Aftermarket steering wheel -Jvc MP3s flip down head unit -Rear pioneer speakers -4 and 2 channel amps -Single 12" sub IMPERFECT ISSUES ABOUT THIS CAR -Rear left panel fixed and 2pac prima added so now only needs painting. -Wheels has minor scratches -Interior isn't perfect, has a few cracks, and tear from ageing -Recaro seat has one tear -the dash is starting to blink -If you want the passenger window to go up, then have to open driver side door dont know why -Long scratched on right front guards, swerved to avoid running in the back of the ute, just lightly touched the corner of the tray, ute driver didn't even notice! -Somtime can hear a clunking noise coming from the back, when i take my foot of the acc. at high speed, but this has been happening since i bought the car which was app. 3 yrs ago -Rego ends on the 1/9/06, i can put 12months rego on th car, but this will altered the ogriginal price. suspensions, control arms, steering rack/arms, driveshafts looks fine, but i cant promise it will drive straight but i pretty sure it will drive. The problem is the left guard is rubbing against the wheel, worst if ur trying to make a turn. That why its properly better not to drive unless ur really have to.

shaunr32 i can be driven, but only if u have to, there is nothing wrong with the driveline , most of the major damages is to the body, front and rear, and its not as easy as just replacing the damaged panels, its a lil bit more work then that. and yes, interstate buyers would have to organise freight

if your interested in these rims, i know where you can get a set and i know they aren't the best looking rims around but, at certains angle and on the right car they're look alright, and they're are bloody LIGHT, it helps if u own a Soarer, like me!!

g'day guys i have the option of purchasing a cheap smashed R33 and i m currently looking for a damaged Soarer for wrecking. i've always reckon the R33 looks hot, and i Love the sound of a V8 on high revs. put the too together and it would be my beast. before i go off and loose any sleeps over this, i like to know about this conversion, is it do-able?

the wheels are 17s dont know the tyre size, have to check, can't help you with the bar, not the just the front but the rear bar is gone too. dude the wheels are 17s, not sure on the tyre size maybe 225/235 35 17, i'll check GUYS I'LL WON'T BE ABLE TO SELLL THE RIMS BEFORE SOME ONE TAKES THE CAR AWAY!
