  1. RB20 man...it's in my sig. Scott
  2. What he said! Scott
  3. 2.6 60ft ??? That's pretty slow even for a GTS-T. Scott
  4. Dude, i'm not interested in buying the car, but i wanted to comment on how sweet it looks. Awesome and cheap. Maybe you should sell it for more as people might think it's stuffed for the price you're asking Anyway a free bump. Good luck with the sale. Scott
  5. Hey i haven't been in a GTR either. I've been in a 430rwhp 32 GTS-T though and lets just say it's a handfull. Scott
  6. Well it says R32 GTS-T RB20DET...oh well it doesn't matter. BTW the car is running great now. I might get it on the dyno just to be sure everything is ok though. Regards, Scott
  7. 2530 here. Making around the 200rwkw mark @ 1 bar. Mods in my sig. My brother put a T04 on his 32 and is running a powerfc. Over 300rwhp. But when i drove it i noticed that 1st doesn't really boost at all and 2nd isn't much better. 3rd gear hang on lol. Scott
  8. It says under the bonnet 15deg BTDC @850rpm. I thought it was 650 as well...hrmm Yeah when i put the CAS back on i set it to roughly the middle and when i started the car and let it warm up it came down to 20deg, so i had to adjust the CAS a little. I'll see how she drives today. Cheers, Scott
  9. Yep all good now wrxhoon. Timing is now at 17deg, which is a little more retarded than with the old belt on (I marked the CAS before i took it apart). Thanks for all the help i really appreciate it. I learnt alot about my car in the process. I will take it for a drive tomorrow and see how she goes. Regards, Scott
  10. And how do i know when i've got number 1 cylinder at TDC? Scott
  11. wrxhoon, I have all the covers back on. Should i take the top one off again and turn the engine over to check? All i have to do now is put all the belts back on and put the radiator back in. Then i will check the timing with the light. Thanks for the help. Scott
  12. Thanks wrxhoon. I did all of that last night. If only i knew the correct procedure the first time around. I aligned the crack pulley's yellow mark with the mark on the lower timing belt cover, and then aligned the dimples on the cam gears with the marks on the backing plate. Then put the belt on using the marks on it as a guide to line up to. I didn't set it up on TDC last time. I just left everything in the same position from when i last drove it and put the belt on in the exact same place...well that's what i tried to do. My dad helped me do the job but seeing he is a V8 man, all this overhead cam 'stuff' is new to him...lol Regards, Scott
  13. So is this what i rotate? And rotate it the same way as the CAS itself to retard (clockwise)? Regards, Scott
  14. Rotate backwards? Which way is that? Sorry i'm a little lost here. Scott
  15. wrxhoon, what do you mean by moving a tooth out with the cas? Explain please if you could. When i put the new belt on, i didn't align to TDC. I just left everything untouched to put the new belt on. Well that's what i thought. Regards, Scott
  16. wrxhoon, When i put the timing light on it, the timing marks looked to be 30deg off the scale (going by the 5deg increments). The CAS can't be adjusted to correct this???? Scott
  17. I found the loop, but it didn't work with my timing light. So coil pack out and stuck the pickup between the coil and plug. Bingo. Timing out... It's showing the marks way off to the left. So here i go again and take it all apart. Well at least i'm learning. Going by the correct procedure this time around (from the manual). I'll let you guys know how it goes. Thanks for all the advice. Scott
  18. When it detonated, i backed off straight away...so i don't think i've hurt anything yet. How many degrees does the engine advance under load? Does anyone know? And which wire do i connect the pickup for the timing light? I won't be taking it to a workshop now either. I've taken it apart once, so why not again. *sigh* I'll do the timing light tomorrow night. Thanks for the help. Scott
  19. Yeah i've been having a search and a big read. I dunno whether to take it to a workshop or not.
  20. Thanks blind_elk Can someone give me a rundown on how to check the timing as i have the light. Like where i get the pickup from etc. And what marks i should be looking for. Thanks, Scott
  21. CAS is nearly all the way to the end of the slot. I turned it clockwise. The car starts real easy as well....better than before even. Scott
  22. I have just done my waterpump and timing belt (myself and my dad). But now i am noticing detonation in the high rpm region (6k>). We thought we put the timing belt in the exact same position as the old belt...but the old belt had stretched a bit. Would this detonation be caused by a misalignment of the timing belt with the cams? And how many teeth could it be out by? It runs well right up to about 6000rpm and then i hear the dreaded 'tink tink'. I am not driving it at the moment until i get it sorted out. I also adjusted the CAS but with little success. If i am a tooth out, does that mean the whole deal (harmonic balancer etc) has to come off again or is there an easier way? I have not checked the timing with a timing light. I put a atmospheric bleeding BOV on at the same time but i don't think that has anything to do with the problem as that would only make mixtures richer. Advice would be much appreciated. Regards, Scott
  23. Yep see you guys there. Scott
  24. No luck with that link Joel.... Scott
  25. 88000km's on the clock so i thought i would do the timing belt now seeing as i had to do the water pump. I just hope the CAS is in the same position....
