  1. You're also going to need a diff spreader to spread the casing enough to allow the backlash shims to be put in and also set the bearing preload for them. If you try and put them in without the spreader you will either break the shims, or get them in but damage the bearing, and also put a lot of metal swarf in the case
  2. Pull the shifter out and check to see if the plastic bush is still on the end of it. If it's gone replace it. Also, where the selector cover is, just below where it bolts on the is a 24mm bolt either side. Pull both these out and you will find a couple of springs, chuck an extra stronger spring in there and it will make it firmer. If you check out gktech.com.au, he sells the springs and extra bolts for crazy cheap. If you purchase then, use your standard bolt as the gktech ones are to suit sr boxes and drill out the standard bolt to accomodate the bigger springs. It works as i've done it to mine for when she's ready to be put in the car. Hope this helps
  3. That ring pull looks to be off the redbull can you had that night
  4. Why the hell would you wana convert to a cable system? Sounds like you have a problem in the hydraulic system. Find out if one is leaking an go from there
  5. It all depends how its been built. I use valve grinding paste to help new synchros and it takes a few kms to get them to work properly from new, am unsure of what other workshops use
  6. I don't know about you guys, but i see the redline oil as a really expensive bandaid fix. By the sounds of it, all you's are really doing is hiding the fact that your gearbox is f**ked. I would rather spend what the redline oil costs on a rebuild kit/or a workshop rebuild if you don't know what you're doing. If the box was operating well it wouldn't matter what brand you used as long as it was the right grade.
  7. Why not just do a 5 stud conversion? I dont think GKTECH would sell them if there were problems with the products.
  8. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICK!!

  20. 3rd time in 600km? Sounds like installation problem. How rough was he when he put the box back in?
  21. Has the warning light come on or has it gone into limp mode? If not then its a mechanical failure, you can replace just the torque converter but without knowing how much of the friction matrerial has gone through the box and how much other damage there is, it is hard to tell. But with 300k on the clock, i would give her a freshen up
  22. 240z flares nick?
