The wreckers down here wanted a lot for a bare block, but there are that many dardy people down here it wouldnt take much to find one. Why wouldnt you be able to licence the 30 engine?
The RTA do that 15% engine increase dont they?
Sounds like a pretty good answer to a problem haha. Scored a 30 bottom end today for 50 beans looks to be in good condition tho, might be the way to go and tuck the 25 under the bench somewhere.
Is anyone around here using the Nitto oil pump and other nitto gear?
This is the sort of kit that you can get (these photos are for an RE4R01A early 33 and patrol boxes) but are essentially the same thing, each kit comes with very detailed instructions on which holes to drill, how big to drill them, which springs you can and cant replace.
These kits can be purchased from any company that deals with transmission parts.
Computer wont let me upload the pics
Found some photos, vehicle was a 34 GT sedan.
dirty body is standard, clean is MV, the welsh plugs supplied in the kits, 2 black plugs are shift accumulators, and shift solenoids getting swapped over.

Bart, have you got a VQ in a car in your shop? will call past and have a sticky beak if you do
And Bubba by longnose the crank is that the collar you stick on it to suit the oil pump?
I've considered a couple of combos but for me the 2.7 stands out a little more because its different. The donor motor is a 33 series 1 as far as i can tell. The combo i'm looking at is
34 crank
nitto rods
JE Pistons
nitto oil pump
272 cams with springs
sard 750's
gt35 with 6 boobs and whateva else is required
Is it worth stroking a 25 to 2.7 with the 26 crank rods pistons and etc or would it be more feasible to just build a 26?
What would be the advantages and disadvantages using the 25?
Car is a 32 sedan and will hopefully be used for a bit of circuit and road use.
Am open to all advice. AAANNNNDDDD GO...
The transfer on this gearbox should be 2 sealed units separate from each other. Which is why they have 2 separate fill and drain plugs. There is no connector hole. They should have a breather on top of each unit
All fast torque converters do a "more stall" which is basically a standard converter with the internals tweaked a tiny bit if a high stall isnt wanted. I've installed an MV shift kitted valve body into a 34 4 door and it was a pretty good piece of gear. To get it done by someone in perth give Allfast a ring as the guy that runs it also have a transmission shop down the road and he's quite good at what he does.
the stage 2 kit was firm but not to rough for the guy i did it for, and his missus even commented that it was nicer to drive. As for power handling/harshness it all depends on how big you drill relief holes, and which other mods you leave out. I've found with a few builders that i've worked with, each one is different in the way he sets stuff up. Now i just do it from home in the garage when i get time and space to do it for the fun of it
I've fitted the MV kit to a 33 down here in bunbury, i took some pics of the welsh plugs before and after will try and find them. The MV kits are just a simple shift kitted valvebody exactly like bubba and status have mentioned, the hardest thing about them is not breaking the plastic electrical connections inside
