  1. the used engine cover sets? are they for a 26? and are any of them from a 34? plus pics if possible. cheers. pm me if you want
  2. how did you go with your Haltech choice? I'm building a rb25 32 up an am checking out different options?
  3. What are the OS boxes like to drive on the open road with the lower ratios? Do you guys change diff ratios at all?
  4. check the oil level whilst running in neutral, those 2 lines are for the transmission cooler and you will find if you check the level you'll need about an extra litre to top her up. dont attempt to drive it until you've topped it up otherwise the box will die
  5. the box sounds f**ked so no matter wat you do to it atm its still gona be f**ked, 120,000kms on a import manual isnt that bad if i were you i'd get the thing rebuilt properly the first time.
  6. steel cable ties or stainless wire does the trick. using heat wrap can create hot spots in manifolds tho and with some aftermarket units using it voids the warranty. in saying that i use it on my dump pipe and hot side intercooler pipe
  7. i do my clutch's on the ground it isnt that hard. even done one at a track event. quick question did you grease the thrust bearing? i didnt see any on it in the pic you took
  8. should fit up. some massaging of the tunnel might be needed with a mallet but shouldnt be much
  9. get a pair stilsons (plumber pipe spanners) and undo the filler plug. or through the gearstick is fine
  10. a friend of mine had his in his mums shed down here in bunbury, now he's taken it out to narrogin to work on her. only import in a sea of bogans and farm machinery. thing is an animal
  11. you've only really experienced a little bit of what dealerships can have to offer in terms of training. i came from an independent transmission workshop where the only training you had was out of a book and hands on. dealerships have the funding to send you away to courses and what ever else is required to get you to be a master technician. as wat nzm 031 said, look at what you wana do with your future after you have your papers signed. they should be the number one priority atm. once i had finished my time i jumped ship into the mining sector and have not looked back since. and on my days off i still play with cars. at the end of the day its entirely up to you but
  12. i just wana have a sticky beak. might be something there i might need in the future for the 32
  13. As i'm from bunbury i dont know of many of the places you can buy stuff from in perth. But yesterday i was told from a panel beater about a parts warehouse in malaga somewhere his old man took him to and it was chock a block full of performance parts for everything. Does anyone on here know of such a place as i'd like to check it out.
  14. was there anything stuck behind the gearstick that you could have moved when cleaning?
  15. once you've gotten it all apart and the input shaft has fallen off the front you'll find a c clip on the mainshaft, remove this and the whole selector hub should either fall off or it may need a tiny bit of pressure behind it to slide it off. Then its only a matter of marking the hub to make sure the slider is put back on the same way, remove the old clips, install new ones then put it all back together in the reverse of the instructions.
  16. Hi all, I'm currently building a 25 box to replace my standard 20 box and require a VIN number from an R33 with a push type setup, i think they go from 93 to 97, is there anyone out there that would be willing to let me use their VIN number so i can get this thing back together. PM'ing me it would be the ideal thing please. Cheers Corey
  17. i have mine in a double garage which ive converted into a lil workshop to help me restore her properly
  18. i had one in my 32 with a few bolt on mods an thought it was an utter piece of shit and waste of money. would slip every now an then and upon removal and swapping it out with an excedy it still looked brand new.
  19. your gona need a bearing press and a few other workshop tools to get to the hub. if you get yourself a manual also it might help out
  20. any half decent trnsmission builder can perform said task. is KEAS or MV Automatics near your neck of the woods?
  21. those clips are from the sliding hub that selects gears. 3rd and 4th are f**ked. box has to come out, remove the bell housing, remove the input shaft from the mainshaft and you will find that the sliding hub outside part will just fall off
  22. it'd be easier to take the bracket out i reckon to put that spring back in. i tig welded mine up the other night in case the spot welds broke
